Pero los judíos incrédulos, llevados de su falso celo, se valieron de algunos malos hombres de ínfima plebe, y reuniendo gente, amotinaron la ciudad, y se echaron sobre la casa de Jasón en busca de Pablo y de Silas, para presentarlos a la vista del pueblo.
Entonces los Judíos que eran incrédulos, teniendo celos, tomaron consigo á algunos ociosos, malos hombres, y juntando compañía, alborotaron la ciudad; y acometiendo á la casa de Jasón, procuraban sacarlos al pueblo.
But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

Los que acompañaban a Pablo, lo condujeron hasta la ciudad de Atenas, y recibido el encargo de decir a Silas y a Timoteo que viniesen a él cuanto antes, se despidieron.
Y los que habían tomado á cargo á Pablo, le llevaron hasta Atenas; y tomando encargo para Silas y Timoteo, que viniesen á él lo más presto que pudiesen, partieron.
And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

Mientras que Pablo los estaba aguardando en Atenas, se consumía interiormente su espíritu, considerando aquella ciudad entregada toda a la idolatría.

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also were conversing with him. Some said, “What does this babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be advocating foreign deities,” because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.
Al fin, cogiéndole en medio, le llevaron al Areópago, diciendo: ¿Podremos saber qué doctrina nueva es esta que predicas?
Y tomándole, le trajeron al Areópago, diciendo: ¿Podremos saber qué sea esta nueva doctrina que dices?
And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

Porque te hemos oído decir cosas que nunca habíamos oído. Y así deseamos saber a qué se reduce eso.

Porque al pasar, mirando yo las esta-tuas de vuestros dioses, he encontrado también un altar, con esta inscripción: AL DIOS NO CONOCIDO. Pues ese Dios que vosotros adoráis sin conocerle, es el que yo vengo a anunciaros.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

Al oír mentar la resurrección de los muertos, algunos se burlaron de él, y otros le dijeron: Te volveremos a oír otra vez sobre esto.
