The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

hasta el día en que fue recibido en el cielo, después de haber instruido por el Espíritu Santo a los apóstoles, que él había escogido.
Hasta el día en que, habiendo dado mandamientos por el Espíritu Santo á los apóstoles que escogió, fué recibido arriba;
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
A los cuales se había manifestado también después de su pasión, dándoles muchas pruebas de que vivía, apareciéndoseles en el espacio de cuarenta días, y hablándoles de las cosas tocantes al reino de Dios.
A los cuales, después de haber padecido, se presentó vivo con muchas pruebas indubitables, apareciéndoles por cuarenta días, y hablándoles del reino de Dios.
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Y por último, comiendo con ellos, les mandó que no partiesen de Jerusalén , sino que esperasen el cumplimiento de la promesa del Padre, la cual, dijo, oísteis de mi boca,

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

y es, que Juan bautizó con el agua, mas vosotros habéis de ser bautizados, o bañados, en el Espíritu Santo dentro de pocos días.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Entonces los que se hallaban presentes, le hicieron esta pregunta: Señor, ¿si será éste el tiempo en que has de restituir el reino a Israel?
Entonces los que se habían juntado le preguntaron, diciendo: Señor, ¿restituirás el reino á Israel en este tiempo?
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”
A lo cual respondió Jesús : No os corresponde a vosotros el saber los tiempos y momentos que tiene el Padre reservados a su poder soberano;
Y les dijo: No toca á vosotros saber los tiempos ó las sazones que el Padre puso en su sola potestad;
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.
recibiréis, sí, la virtud del Espíritu Santo, que descenderá sobre vosotros, y me serviréis de testigos en Jerusalén , y en toda la Judea, y Samaria, y hasta el cabo del mundo.
Mas recibiréis la virtud del Espíritu Santo que vendrá sobre vosotros; y me sereís testigos en Jerusalem, y en toda Judea, y Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Dicho esto, se fue elevando a vista de ellos por los aires, hasta que una nube le encubrió a sus ojos.
Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, viéndolo ellos, fué alzado; y una nube le recibió y le quitó de sus ojos.
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Y estando atentos a mirar cómo iba subiéndose al cielo, he aquí que aparecieron cerca de ellos dos personajes con vestiduras blancas,

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

los cuales les dijeron: Varones de Galilea, ¿por qué estáis ahí parados mirando al cielo? Este Jesús , que separándose de vosotros se ha subido al cielo, vendrá de la misma suerte que le acabáis de ver subir allá.
Los cuales también les dijeron: Varones Galileos, ¿qué estáis mirando al cielo? este mismo Jesús que ha sido tomado desde vosotros arriba en el cielo, así vendrá como le habéis visto ir al cielo.
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”
Después de esto se volvieron los discípulos a Jerusalén , desde el monte llamado de los Olivos, que dista de Jerusalén el espacio de camino que puede andarse en sábado.
Entonces se volvieron á Jerusalem del monte que se llama del Olivar, el cual está cerca de Jerusalem camino de un sábado.
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

Hermanos míos, es preciso que se cumpla lo que tiene profetizado el Espíritu Santo por boca de David, acerca de Judas, que se hizo adalid de los que prendieron a Jesús ,
Varones hermanos, convino que se cumpliese la Escritura, la cual dijo antes el Espíritu Santo por la boca de David, de Judas, que fué guía de los que prendieron á Jesús;
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
“Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.
y el cual fue de nuestro número, y había sido llamado a las funciones de nuestro ministerio.

Este adquirió un campo con el precio de su maldad, y habiéndose ahorcado reventó por medio; quedando esparcidas por tierra todas sus entrañas;

Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

cosa que es notoria a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén , por manera que aquel campo ha sido llamado en su lengua Hacéldama, esto es, Campo de sangre.
Y fué notorio á todos los moradores de Jerusalem; de tal manera que aquel campo es llamado en su propia lengua, Acéldama, que es, Campo de sangre.
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called ‘Akeldama,’ that is, ‘The field of blood.’
Así es que está escrito en el libro de los Salmos: Quede su morada desierta, ni haya quien habite en ella, y ocupe otro su lugar en el episcopado.

Es necesario, pues, que de estos sujetos que han estado en nuestra compañía, todo el tiempo que Jesús Señor nuestro conversó entre nosotros,
Conviene, pues, que de estos hombres que han estado juntos con nosotros todo el tiempo que el Señor Jesús entró y salió entre nosotros,
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

Con esto propusieron a dos: a José, llamado Barsabas, y por sobrenombre el Justo, y a Matías.
