1Da nun die Empörung aufgehört, rief Paulus die Jünger zu sich und segnete sie und ging aus, zu reisen nach Mazedonien.
2Und da er diese Länder durchzogen und sie ermahnt hatte mit vielen Worten, kam er nach Griechenland und verzog allda drei Monate.
3Da aber ihm die Juden nachstellten, als er nach Syrien wollte fahren, beschloß er wieder umzuwenden durch Mazedonien.
4Es zogen aber mit ihm bis nach Asien Sopater von Beröa, von Thessalonich aber Aristarchus und Sekundus, und Gajus von Derbe und Timotheus, aus Asien aber Tychikus und Trophimus.
5Diese gingen voran und harrten unser zu Troas.
6Wir aber schifften nach den Ostertagen von Philippi bis an den fünften Tag und kamen zu ihnen gen Troas und hatten da unser Wesen sieben Tage.
7Am ersten Tage der Woche aber, da die Jünger zusammenkamen, das Brot zu brechen, predigte ihnen Paulus, und wollte des andern Tages weiterreisen und zog die Rede hin bis zu Mitternacht.
8Und es waren viel Lampen auf dem Söller, da sie versammelt waren.
9Es saß aber ein Jüngling mit namen Eutychus in einem Fenster und sank in tiefen Schlaf, dieweil Paulus so lange redete, und ward vom Schlaf überwältigt und fiel hinunter vom dritten Söller und ward tot aufgehoben.
10Paulus aber ging hinab und legte sich auf ihn, umfing ihn und sprach: Machet kein Getümmel; denn seine Seele ist in ihm.
11Da ging er hinauf und brach das Brot und aß und redete viel mit ihnen, bis der Tag anbrach; und also zog er aus.
12Sie brachten aber den Knaben lebendig und wurden nicht wenig getröstet.
13Wir aber zogen voran auf dem Schiff und fuhren gen Assos und wollten daselbst Paulus zu uns nehmen; denn er hatte es also befohlen, und er wollte zu Fuße gehen.
14Als er nun zu uns traf zu Assos, nahmen wir ihn zu uns und kamen gen Mitylene.
15Und von da schifften wir und kamen des andern Tages hin gegen Chios; und des folgenden Tages stießen wir an Samos und blieben in Trogyllion; und des nächsten Tages kamen wir gen Milet.
16Denn Paulus hatte beschlossen, an Ephesus vorüberzuschiffen, daß er nicht müßte in Asien Zeit zubringen; denn er eilte, auf den Pfingsttag zu Jerusalem zu sein, so es ihm möglich wäre.
17Aber von Milet sandte er gen Ephesus und ließ fordern die Ältesten von der Gemeinde.
18Als aber die zu ihm kamen, sprach er zu ihnen: Ihr wisset, von dem Tage an, da ich bin nach Asien gekommen, wie ich allezeit bin bei euch gewesen
19und dem HERRN gedient habe mit aller Demut und mit viel Tränen und Anfechtung, die mir sind widerfahren von den Juden, so mir nachstellten;
20wie ich nichts verhalten habe, das da nützlich ist, daß ich's euch nicht verkündigt hätte und euch gelehrt, öffentlich und sonderlich;
21und habe bezeugt, beiden, den Juden und Griechen, die Buße zu Gott und den Glauben an unsern HERRN Jesus Christus.
22Und nun siehe, ich, im Geiste gebunden, fahre hin gen Jerusalem, weiß nicht, was mir daselbst begegnen wird,
23nur daß der heilige Geist in allen Städten bezeugt und spricht, Bande und Trübsal warten mein daselbst.
24Aber ich achte der keines, ich halte mein Leben auch nicht selbst teuer, auf daß ich vollende meinen Lauf mit Freuden und das Amt, das ich empfangen habe von dem HERRN Jesus, zu bezeugen das Evangelium von der Gnade Gottes.
25Und nun siehe, ich weiß, daß ihr mein Angesicht nicht mehr sehen werdet, alle die, bei welchen ich durchgekommen bin und gepredigt habe das Reich Gottes.
26Darum bezeuge ich euch an diesem heutigen Tage, daß ich rein bin von aller Blut;
27denn ich habe euch nichts verhalten, daß ich nicht verkündigt hätte all den Rat Gottes.
28So habt nun acht auf euch selbst und auf die ganze Herde, unter welche euch der heilige Geist gesetzt hat zu Bischöfen, zu weiden die Gemeinde Gottes, welche er durch sein eigen Blut erworben hat.
29Denn das weiß ich, daß nach meinem Abschied werden unter euch kommen greuliche Wölfe, die die Herde nicht verschonen werden.
30Auch aus euch selbst werden aufstehen Männer, die da verkehrte Lehren reden, die Jünger an sich zu ziehen.
31Darum seid wach und denket daran, daß ich nicht abgelassen habe drei Jahre, Tag und Nacht, einen jeglichen mit Tränen zu vermahnen.
32Und nun, liebe Brüder, ich befehle euch Gott und dem Wort seiner Gnade, der da mächtig ist, euch zu erbauen und zu geben das Erbe unter allen, die geheiligt werden.
33Ich habe euer keines Silber noch Gold noch Kleid begehrt.
34Denn ihr wisset selber, daß mir diese Hände zu meiner Notdurft und derer, die mit mir gewesen sind, gedient haben.
35Ich habe es euch alles gezeigt, daß man also arbeiten müsse und die Schwachen aufnehmen und gedenken an das Wort des HERRN Jesus, daß er gesagt hat: “Geben ist seliger denn Nehmen!”
36Und als er solches gesagt, kniete er nieder und betete mit ihnen allen.
37Es war aber viel Weinen unter ihnen allen, und sie fielen Paulus um den Hals und küßten ihn,
38am allermeisten betrübt über das Wort, das er sagte, sie würden sein Angesicht nicht mehr sehen; und geleiteten ihn in das Schiff.

1Y DESPUÉS que cesó el alboroto, llamando Pablo á los discípulos habiéndoles exhortado y abrazado, se despidió, y partió para ir á Macedonia.
2Y andado que hubo aquellas partes, y exhortádoles con abundancia de palabra, vino á Grecia.
3Y después de haber estado allí tres meses, y habiendo de navegar á Siria, le fueron puestas asechanzas por los Judíos; y así tomó consejo de volverse por Macedonia.
4Y le acompañaron hasta Asia Sopater Bereense, y los Tesalonicenses, Aristarco y Segundo; y Gayo de Derbe, y Timoteo; y de Asia, Tychîco y Trófimo.
5Estos yendo delante, nos esperaron en Troas.
6Y nosotros, pasados los días de los panes sin levadura, navegamos de Filipos y vinimos á ellos á Troas en cinco días, donde estuvimos siete días.
7Y el día primero de la semana, juntos los discípulos á partir el pan, Pablo les enseñaba, habiendo de partir al día siguiente: y alargó el discurso hasta la media noche.
8Y había muchas lámparas en el aposento alto donde estaban juntos.
9Y un mancebo llamado Eutichô que estaba sentado en la ventana, tomado de un sueño profundo, como Pablo disputaba largamente, postrado del sueño cayó del tercer piso abajo, y fué alzado muerto.
10Entonces descendió Pablo, y derribóse sobre él, y abrazándole, dijo: No os alborotéis, que su alma está en él.
11Después subiendo, y partiendo el pan, y gustando, habló largamente hasta el alba, y así partió.
12Y llevaron al mozo vivo, y fueron consolados no poco.
13Y nosotros subiendo en el navío, navegamos á Assón, para recibir de allí á Pablo; pues así había determinado que debía él ir por tierra.
14Y como se juntó con nosotros en Assón, tomándole vinimos á Mitilene.
15Y navegando de allí, al día siguiente llegamos delante de Chîo, y al otro día tomamos puerto en Samo: y habiendo reposado en Trogilio, al día siguiente llegamos á Mileto.
16Porque Pablo se había propuesto pasar adelante de Efeso; por no detenerse en Asia: porque se apresuraba por hacer el día de Pentecostés, si le fuese posible, en Jerusalem.
17Y enviando desde Mileto á Efeso, hizo llamar á los ancianos de la iglesia.
18Y cuando vinieron á él, les dijo: Vosotros sabéis cómo, desde el primer día que entré en Asia, he estado con vosotros por todo el tiempo,
19Sirviendo al Señor con toda humildad, y con muchas lágrimas, y tentaciones que me han venido por las asechanzas de los Judíos:
20Cómo nada que fuese útil he rehuído de anunciaros y enseñaros, públicamente y por las casas,
21Testificando á los Judíos y á los Gentiles arrepentimiento para con Dios, y la fe en nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
22Y ahora, he aquí, ligado yo en espíritu, voy á Jerusalem, sin saber lo que allá me ha de acontecer:
23Mas que el Espíritu Santo por todas las ciudades me da testimonio, diciendo que prisiones y tribulaciones me esperan.
24Mas de ninguna cosa hago caso, ni estimo mi vida preciosa para mí mismo; solamente que acabe mi carrera con gozo, y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, para dar testimonio del evangelio de la gracia de Dios.
25Y ahora, he aquí, yo sé que ninguno de todos vosotros, por quien he pasado predicando el reino de Dios, verá más mi rostro.
26Por tanto, yo os protesto el día de hoy, que yo soy limpio de la sangre de todos:
27Porque no he rehuído de anunciaros todo el consejo de Dios.
28Por tanto mirad por vosotros, y por todo el rebaño en que el Espíritu Santo os ha puesto por obispos, para apacentar la iglesia del Señor, la cual ganó por su sangre.
29Porque yo sé que después de mi partida entrarán en medio de vosotros lobos rapaces, que no perdonarán al ganado;
30Y de vosotros mismos se levantarán hombres que hablen cosas perversas, para llevar discípulos tras sí.
31Por tanto, velad, acordándoos que por tres años de noche y de día, no he cesado de amonestar con lágrimas á cada uno.
32Y ahora, hermanos, os encomiendo á Dios, y á la palabra de su gracia: el cual es poderoso para sobreedificar, y daros heredad con todos los santificados.
33La plata, ó el oro, ó el vestido de nadie he codiciado.
34Antes vosotros sabéis que para lo que me ha sido necesario, y á los que están conmigo, estas manos me han servido.
35En todo os he enseñado que, trabajando así, es necesario sobrellevar á los enfermos, y tener presente las palabras del Señor Jesús, el cual dijo: Más bienaventurada cosa es dar que recibir.
36Y como hubo dicho estas cosas, se puso de rodillas, y oró con todos ellos.
37Entonces hubo un gran lloro de todos: y echándose en el cuello de Pablo, le besaban,
38Doliéndose en gran manera por la palabra que dijo, que no habían de ver más su rostro. Y le acompañaron al navío.

1And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.
2And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,
3And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
4And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.
5These going before tarried for us at Troas.
6And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.
7And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
8And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
9And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
12And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
13And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.
14And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.
15And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
16For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
17And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
18And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
19Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
20And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
22And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
23Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
24But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
25And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
26Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
27For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
28Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
32And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
33I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
37And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
38Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

2When he had gone through those parts and had encouraged them with many words, he came into Greece.
3When he had spent three months there, and a plot was made against him by Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.
4These accompanied him as far as Asia: Sopater of Beroea, Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, Gaius of Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.
5But these had gone ahead, and were waiting for us at Troas.

11When he had gone up, had broken bread and eaten, and had talked with them a long while, even until break of day, he departed.
12They brought the boy in alive, and were greatly comforted.
13But we, going ahead to the ship, set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there; for he had so arranged, intending himself to go by land.
14When he met us at Assos, we took him aboard and came to Mitylene.
15Sailing from there, we came the following day opposite Chios. The next day we touched at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium, and the day after we came to Miletus.
16For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.
17From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called to himself the elders of the assembly.
18When they had come to him, he said to them, “You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,
19serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;
20how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,
21testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.
22Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there;
23except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.
24But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
25“Now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching God’s Kingdom, will see my face no more.
26Therefore I testify to you today that I am clean from the blood of all men,
27for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.
28Take heed, therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.
29For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.
32Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
33I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.
34You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.
35In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
36When he had spoken these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37They all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,
38sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. Then they accompanied him to the ship.
