Quando eles chegaram às escadarias, a multidão havia-se tornado tão violenta que os soldados levantaram Paulo nos ombros, para protegê-lo,

Y como llegó á las gradas, aconteció que fué llevado de los soldados á causa de la violencia del pueblo;

And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.

When he came to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd;
