Als er an die Treppen kam, geschah es, daß wegen des Andrangs der Menge die Kriegsleute ihn tragen mußten.

Y como llegó á las gradas, aconteció que fué llevado de los soldados á causa de la violencia del pueblo;

And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.

When he came to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd;
