Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

Daraufhin nahm Paulus die (betreffenden) Männer mit sich, ließ sich am folgenden Tage reinigen und ging mit ihnen in den Tempel, wo er den Abschluß der Reinigungstage anmeldete, (die so lange dauerten) bis für einen jeden von ihnen das Löseopfer dargebracht sein würde.
Entonces Pablo tomó consigo aquellos hombres, y al día siguiente, habiéndose purificado con ellos, entró en el templo, para anunciar el cumplimiento de los días de la purificación, hasta ser ofrecida ofrenda por cada uno de ellos.

Sie hatten nämlich vorher den Trophimus aus Ephesus in der Stadt mit ihm zusammen gesehen und meinten nun, Paulus habe ihn in den Tempel mitgenommen.

Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
Aren’t you then the Egyptian who before these days stirred up to sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?”
Paulus antwortete: »Nein, ich bin ein Jude aus Tarsus, Bürger einer namhaften Stadt in Cilicien. Erlaube mir, bitte, zum Volke zu reden!«
Entonces dijo Pablo: Yo de cierto soy hombre Judío, ciudadano de Tarso, ciudad no obscura de Cilicia: empero ruégote que me permitas que hable al pueblo.
But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

Als jener ihm die Erlaubnis gegeben hatte, gab Paulus, auf der Treppe stehend, dem Volk ein Zeichen mit der Hand; als dann völlige Stille eingetreten war, hielt er in der hebräischen Landessprache folgende Ansprache an sie:
