Al extenderlo y atarlo para darle los azotes, Pablo le preguntó al centurión que estaba allí: “¿Es legal azotar a un ciudadano romano que no ha sido llevado a juicio?”

Y como le ataron con correas, Pablo dijo al centurión que estaba presente: ¿Os es lícito azotar á un hombre Romano sin ser condenado?

And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

When they had tied him up with straps, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?”
