Hechos 22

Die aber mit mir waren, sahen das Licht und erschraken; die Stimme aber des, der mit mir redete, höreten sie nicht.

VARONES hermanos y padres, oid la razón que ahora os doy.

Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.

“Brothers and fathers, listen to the defense which I now make to you.”

Ich sprach aber: HERR, was soll ich tun? Der HERR aber sprach zu mir: Stehe auf und gehe gen Damaskus; da wird man dir sagen von allem, was dir zu tun verordnet ist.

(Y como oyeron que les hablaba en lengua hebrea, guardaron más silencio.) Y dijo:

(And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)

When they heard that he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, they were even more quiet. He said,

Als ich aber vor Klarheit dieses Lichtes nicht sehen konnte, ward ich bei der Hand geleitet von denen, die mit mir waren, und kam gen Damaskus.

Yo de cierto soy Judío, nacido en Tarso de Cilicia, mas criado en esta ciudad á los pies de Gamaliel, enseñado conforme á la verdad de la ley de la patria, celoso de Dios, como todos vosotros sois hoy.

I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.

“I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, instructed according to the strict tradition of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God, even as you all are today.

Es war aber ein gottesfürchtiger Mann nach dem Gesetz, Ananias, der ein gut Gerücht hatte bei allen Juden, die daselbst wohneten.

Que he perseguido este camino hasta la muerte, prendiendo y entregando en cárceles hombres y mujeres:

And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women,

Der kam zu mir und trat vor mich hin und sprach zu mir: Saul, lieber Bruder, siehe auf! Und ich sah ihn an zu derselbigen Stunde.

Como también el príncipe de los sacerdotes me es testigo, y todos los ancianos; de los cuales también tomando letras á los hermanos, iba á Damasco para traer presos á Jerusalem aun á los que estuviesen allí, para que fuesen castigados.

As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.

as also the high priest and all the council of the elders testify, from whom also I received letters to the brothers, and traveled to Damascus to bring them also who were there to Jerusalem in bonds to be punished.

Er aber sprach: Der Gott unserer Väter hat dich verordnet, daß du seinen Willen erkennen solltest und sehen den Gerechten und hören, die Stimme aus seinem Munde.

Mas aconteció que yendo yo, y llegando cerca de Damasco, como á medio día, de repente me rodeó mucha luz del cielo:

And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

“As I made my journey and came close to Damascus, about noon suddenly a great light shone around me from the sky.

Denn du wirst sein Zeuge zu allen Menschen sein des, das du gesehen und gehöret hast.

Y caí en el suelo, y oí una voz que me decía: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?

And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’

Und nun, was verziehst du? Stehe auf und laß dich taufen und abwaschen deine Sünden und rufe an den Namen des HERRN.

Yo entonces respondí: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y me dijo: Yo soy Jesús de Nazaret, á quien tú persigues.

And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute.’

Es geschah aber, da ich wieder gen Jerusalem kam und betete im Tempel, daß ich entzücket ward und sah ihn.

Y los que estaban conmigo vieron á la verdad la luz, y se espantaron; mas no oyeron la voz del que hablaba conmigo.

And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

“Those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid, but they didn’t understand the voice of him who spoke to me.

Da sprach er zu mir: Eile und mache dich behend von Jerusalem hinaus: denn sie werden nicht aufnehmen dein Zeugnis von mir.

Y dije: ¿Qué haré, Señor? Y el Señor me dijo: Levántate, y ve á Damasco, y allí te será dicho todo lo que te está señalado hacer.

And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me, ‘Arise, and go into Damascus. There you will be told about all things which are appointed for you to do.’

Und ich sprach: HERR, sie wissen selbst, daß ich gefangenlegte und stäupte die, so an dich glaubten, in den Schulen hin und wieder.

Y como yo no viese por causa de la claridad de la luz, llevado de la mano por los que estaban conmigo, vine á Damasco.

And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

When I couldn’t see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus.

Und da das Blut des Stephanus, deines Zeugen, vergossen ward, stund ich auch daneben und hatte Wohlgefallen an seinem Tode und verwahrete denen die Kleider, die ihn töteten.

Entonces un Ananías, varón pío conforme á la ley, que tenía buen testimonio de todos los Judíos que allí moraban,

And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,

“One Ananias, a devout man according to the law, well reported of by all the Jews who lived in Damascus,

Und er sprach zu mir: Gehe hin; denn ich will dich ferne unter die Heiden senden.

Viniendo á mí, y acercándose, me dijo: Hermano Saulo, recibe la vista. Y yo en aquella hora le miré.

Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

came to me, and standing by me said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ In that very hour I looked up at him.

Sie höreten ihm aber zu bis auf dies Wort und huben ihre Stimme auf und sprachen: Hinweg mit solchem von der Erde; denn es ist nicht billig, daß er leben soll!

Y él dijo: El Dios de nuestros padres te ha predestinado para que conocieses su voluntad, y vieses á aquel Justo, y oyeses la voz de su boca.

And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

He said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice from his mouth.

Da sie aber schrieen und ihre Kleider abwarfen und den Staub in die Luft warfen,

Porque has de ser testigo suyo á todos los hombres, de lo que has visto y oído.

For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

For you will be a witness for him to all men of what you have seen and heard.

hieß ihn der Hauptmann in das Lager führen und sagte, daß man ihn stäupen und ertragen sollte, daß er erführe um welcher Ursache willen sie also über ihn riefen.

Ahora pues, ¿por qué te detienes? Levántate, y bautízate, y lava tus pecados, invocando su nombre.

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’

Als er ihn aber mit Riemen anband, sprach Paulus zu dem Unterhauptmann, der dabeistund: Ist's auch recht bei euch, einen römischen Menschen ohne Urteil und Recht geißeln?

Y me aconteció, vuelto á Jerusalem, que orando en el templo, fuí arrebatado fuera de mí.

And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;

“When I had returned to Jerusalem and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance

Da das der Unterhauptmann hörete, ging er zu dem Oberhauptmann und verkündigte ihm und sprach: Was willst du machen? Dieser Mensch ist römisch.

Y le vi que me decía: Date prisa, y sal prestamente fuera de Jerusalem; porque no recibirán tu testimonio de mí.

And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

and saw him saying to me, ‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not receive testimony concerning me from you.’

Da kam zu ihm der Oberhauptmann und sprach zu ihm: Sage mir, bist du römisch? Er aber sprach: Ja.

Y yo dije: Señor, ellos saben que yo encerraba en cárcel, y hería por las sinagogas á los que creían en ti;

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.

Und der Oberhauptmann antwortete: Ich habe dies Bürgerrecht mit großer Summe zuwege gebracht. Paulus aber sprach: Ich aber bin auch römisch geboren.

Y cuando se derramaba la sangre de Esteban tu testigo, yo también estaba presente, y consentía á su muerte, y guardaba las ropas de los que le mataban.

And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

When the blood of Stephen, your witness, was shed, I also was standing by, consenting to his death, and guarding the cloaks of those who killed him.’

Da traten alsbald von ihm ab, die ihn befragen sollten. Und der Oberhauptmann fürchtete sich, da er vernahm, daß er römisch war, und er ihn gebunden hatte.

Y me dijo: Ve, porque yo te tengo que enviar lejos á los Gentiles.

And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

“He said to me, ‘Depart, for I will send you out far from here to the Gentiles.’ ”

Des andern Tages wollte er gewiß erkunden, warum er verklaget würde von den Juden, und lösete ihn von den Banden und hieß die Hohenpriester und ihren ganzen Rat kommen und führete Paulus hervor und stellete ihn unter sie.

Y le oyeron hasta esta palabra: entonces alzaron la voz, diciendo: Quita de la tierra á un tal hombre, porque no conviene que viva.

And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

They listened to him until he said that; then they lifted up their voice and said, “Rid the earth of this fellow, for he isn’t fit to live!”

Paulus aber sah den Rat an und sprach: Ihr Männer, liebe Brüder, ich habe mit allem guten Gewissen gewandelt vor Gott bis auf diesen Tag.

Y dando ellos voces, y arrojando sus ropas y echando polvo al aire,

And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,

As they cried out, threw off their cloaks, and threw dust into the air,

Der Hohepriester aber, Ananias, befahl denen, die um ihn stunden, daß sie ihn aufs Maul schlügen.

Mandó el tribuno que le llevasen á la fortaleza, y ordenó que fuese examinado con azotes, para saber por qué causa clamaban así contra él.

The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.

the commanding officer commanded him to be brought into the barracks, ordering him to be examined by scourging, that he might know for what crime they shouted against him like that.

Da sprach Paulus zu ihm: Gott wird dich schlagen, du getünchte Wand! Sitzest du und richtest mich nach dem Gesetze und heißest mich schlagen wider das Gesetz?

Y como le ataron con correas, Pablo dijo al centurión que estaba presente: ¿Os es lícito azotar á un hombre Romano sin ser condenado?

And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

When they had tied him up with straps, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?”

Die aber umherstunden, sprachen: Schiltst du den Hohenpriester Gottes?

Y como el centurión oyó esto, fué y dió aviso al tribuno, diciendo: ¿Qué vas á hacer? porque este hombre es Romano.

When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.

When the centurion heard it, he went to the commanding officer and told him, “Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman!”

Und Paulus sprach: Liebe Brüder, ich wußte es nicht, daß er der Hohepriester ist. Denn es stehet geschrieben: Dem Obersten deines Volks sollst du nicht fluchen.

Y viniendo el tribuno, le dijo: Dime, ¿eres tú Romano? Y él dijo: Sí.

Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.

The commanding officer came and asked him, “Tell me, are you a Roman?” He said, “Yes.”

Als aber Paulus wußte, daß ein Teil Sadduzäer war und der andere Teil Pharisäer, rief er im Rat: Ihr Männer, liebe Brüder ich bin ein Pharisäer und eines Pharisäers Sohn; ich werde angeklagt um der Hoffnung und Auferstehung willen der Toten.

Y respondió el tribuno: Yo con grande suma alcancé esta ciudadanía. Entonces Pablo dijo: Pero yo lo soy de nacimiento.

And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.

The commanding officer answered, “I bought my citizenship for a great price.” Paul said, “But I was born a Roman.”

Da er aber das sagte, ward ein Aufruhr unter den Pharisäern und Sadduzäern, und die Menge zerspaltete sich.

Así que, luego se apartaron de él los que le habían de atormentar: y aun el tribuno también tuvo temor, entendido que era Romano, por haberle atado.

Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.

Immediately those who were about to examine him departed from him, and the commanding officer also was afraid when he realized that he was a Roman, because he had bound him.

Denn die Sadduzäer sagen, es sei keine Auferstehung noch Engel noch Geist; die Pharisäer aber bekennen's beides.

Y al día siguiente, queriendo saber de cierto la causa por qué era acusado de los Judíos, le soltó de las prisiones, y mandó venir á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y á todo su concilio: y sacando á Pablo, le presentó delante de ellos.

On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

But on the next day, desiring to know the truth about why he was accused by the Jews, he freed him from the bonds and commanded the chief priests and all the council to come together, and brought Paul down and set him before them.
