Hechos 23

Paulus aber sah den Rat an und sprach: Ihr Manner, liebe Bruder, ich habe mitallem guten Gewissen gewandelt vor Gott bis auf diesen Tag.

ENTONCES Pablo, poniendo los ojos en el concilio, dice: Varones hermanos, yo con toda buena conciencia he conversado delante de Dios hasta el día de hoy.

And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, “Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”

Der Hohepriester aber, Ananias, befahl denen, die um ihn stunden, daß sie ihn aufs Maul schlugen.

El príncipe de los sacerdotes, Ananías, mandó entonces á los que estaban delante de él, que le hiriesen en la boca.

And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

The high priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

Da sprach Paulus zu ihm: Gottwird dich schlagen, du getunchte Wand! Sitzest du und richtest mich nach dem Gesetze und heiftest mich schlagen wider das Gesetz?

Entonces Pablo le dijo: Herirte ha Dios, pared blanqueada: ¿y estás tú sentado para juzgarme conforme á la ley, y contra la ley me mandas herir?

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?”

Die aber umherstunden, sprachen: Schiltst du den Hohenpriester Gottes?

Y los que estaban presentes dijeron: ¿Al sumo sacerdote de Dios maldices?

And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest?

Those who stood by said, “Do you malign God’s high priest?”

Und Paulus sprach: Liebe Bruder, ich wuftte es nicht, daß er der Hohepriester ist. Denn es stehet geschrieben: Dem Obersten deines Volks sollst du nicht fluchen.

Y Pablo dijo: No sabía, hermanos, que era el sumo sacerdote; pues escrito está: Al príncipe de tu pueblo no maldecirás.

Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Paul said, “I didn’t know, brothers, that he was high priest. For it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”

Als aber Paulus wuftte, daß ein Teil Sadduzaer war und der andere Teil Pharisaer, rief er im Rat: Ihr Manner, liebe Bruder ich bin ein Pharisaer und eines Pharisaers Sohn; ich werde angeklagt um der Hoffnung und Auferstehung willen der Toten.

Entonces Pablo, sabiendo que la una parte era de Saduceos, y la otra de Fariseos, clamó en el concilio: Varones hermanos, yo soy Fariseo, hijo de Fariseo: de la esperanza y de la resurrección de los muertos soy yo juzgado.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Men and brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. Concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!”

Da er aber das sagte, ward ein Aufruhr unter den Pharisaern und Sadduzaern, und die Menge zerspaltete sich.

Y como hubo dicho esto, fué hecha disensión entre los Fariseos y los Saduceos; y la multitud fué dividida.

And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

When he had said this, an argument arose between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the crowd was divided.

Denn die Sadduzaer sagen, es sei keine Auferstehung noch Engel noch Geist; die Pharisaer aber bekennen's beides.

Porque los Saduceos dicen que no hay resurrección, ni ángel, ni espíritu; mas los Fariseos confiesan ambas cosas.

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

Es ward aber ein graft Geschrei. Und die Schriftgelehrten, der Pharisaer Teil, stunden auf, stritten und sprachen: Wir finden nichts Arges an diesem Menschen; hat aber ein Geist Oder ein Engel mit ihm geredet, so konnen wir mit Gott nicht straiten.

Y levantóse un gran clamor: y levantándose los escribas de la parte de los Fariseos, contendían diciendo: Ningún mal hallamos en este hombre; que si espíritu le ha hablado, ó ángel, no resistamos á Dios.

And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and contended, saying, “We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let’s not fight against God!”

Da aber der Aufruhr graft ward, besorgtesich der oberste Hauptmann, sie mochten Paulus zerreiften, und hieft das Kriegsvolk hinabgehen und ihn von ihnen reiften und in das Lager fuhren.

Y habiendo grande disensión, el tribuno, teniendo temor de que Pablo fuese despedazado de ellos, mandó venir soldados, y arrebatarle de en medio de ellos, y llevarle á la fortaleza.

And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

When a great argument arose, the commanding officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them and bring him into the barracks.

Des andern Tages aber in der Nacht stund der Herr bei ihm und sprach: Sei getrost, Paulus; denn wie du von mir zu Jerusalem gezeuget hast, also muftt du auch zu Rom zeugen.

Y la noche siguiente, presentándosele el Señor, le dijo: Confía, Pablo; que como has testificado de mí en Jerusalem, así es menester testifiques también en Roma.

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

The following night, the Lord stood by him and said, “Cheer up, Paul, for as you have testified about me at Jerusalem, so you must testify also at Rome.”

Da es aber Tag ward, schlugen sich etliche Juden zusammen und verbanneten sich, weder zu essen noch zu trinken, bis daß sie Paulus getotet hatten.

Y venido el día, algunos de los Judíos se juntaron, é hicieron voto bajo de maldición, diciendo que ni comerían ni beberían hasta que hubiesen muerto á Pablo.

And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

Ihrer aber waren mehrdenn vierzig, die solchen Bund machten.

Y eran más de cuarenta los que habían hecho esta conjuración;

Die traten zu den Hohenpriestern und Altesten und sprachen: Wir haben uns hart verbannet, nichts zu essen, bis wir Paulus getotet haben.

Los cuales se fueron á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y á los ancianos, y dijeron: Nosotros hemos hecho voto debajo de maldición, que no hemos de gustar nada hasta que hayamos muerto á Pablo.

And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

They came to the chief priests and the elders, and said, “We have bound ourselves under a great curse to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.

So tut nun kund dem Oberhauptmann und dem Rat, daß er ihn morgen zu euch führe, als wolltet ihr ihn besser verhoren; wir aber sind bereit, ihn zu toten, ehe denn er vor euch kommt.

Ahora pues, vosotros, con el concilio, requerid al tribuno que le saque mañana á vosotros como que queréis entender de él alguna cosa más cierta; y nosotros, antes que él llegue, estaremos aparejados para matarle.

Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

Now therefore, you with the council inform the commanding officer that he should bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to judge his case more exactly. We are ready to kill him before he comes near.”

Da aber des Paulus Schwestersohn den Anschlag horete, ging er hin und kam in das Lager und verkündigte es Paulus.

Entonces un hijo de la hermana de Pablo, oyendo las asechanzas, fué, y entró en la fortaleza, y dió aviso á Pablo.

And when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

But Paul’s sister’s son heard they were lying in wait, and he came and entered into the barracks and told Paul.

Paulus aber rief zu sich einen von den Unterhauptleuten und sprach: Diesen Jungling fuhre hin zu dem Oberhauptmann; denn er hat ihm etwas zu sagen.

Y Pablo, llamando á uno de los centuriones, dice: Lleva á este mancebo al tribuno, porque tiene cierto aviso que darle.

Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.

Paul summoned one of the centurions and said, “Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him.”

Der nahm ihn an und fuhrete ihn zum Oberhauptmann und sprach: Dergebundene Paulus rief mich zu sich und bat mich, diesen Jungling zu dir zu fuhren, der dir etwas zu sagen habe.

El entonces tomándole, le llevó al tribuno, y dijo: El preso Pablo, llamándome, me rogó que trajese á ti este mancebo, que tiene algo que hablarte.

So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

So he took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said, “Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”

Da nahm ihn der Oberhauptmann bei der Hand und wich an einen besondern Ort und fragte ihn: Was ist's, das du mir zu sagen hast?

Y el tribuno, tomándole de la mano y retirándose aparte, le preguntó: ¿Qué es lo que tienes que decirme?

Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?

The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”

Er aber sprach: Die Juden sind eins worden, dich zu bitten, daß du morgen Paulus vor den Rat bringen lassest, als wollten sie ihn besser verhoren.

Y él dijo: Los Judíos han concertado rogarte que mañana saques á Pablo al concilio, como que han de inquirir de él alguna cosa más cierta.

And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

He said, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.

Du aber traue ihnen nicht; denn es halten auf ihn mehr denn vierzig Manner unter ihnen, die haben sich verbannet, weder zu essen noch zu trinken, bis sie Paulus toten; und sind jetzt bereit und warten auf deine Verheiftung.

Mas tú no los creas; porque más de cuarenta hombres de ellos le acechan, los cuales han hecho voto debajo de maldición, de no comer ni beber hasta que le hayan muerto; y ahora están apercibidos esperando tu promesa.

But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

Therefore don’t yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse to neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.”

Da lieft der Oberhauptmann den Jungling von sich und gebot ihm, daß er niemand sagte, daß er ihm solches eroffnet hatte.

Entonces el tribuno despidió al mancebo, mandándole que á nadie dijese que le había dado aviso de esto.

So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.

So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him, “Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”

Und rief zu sich zwei Unterhauptleute und sprach: Rüstet zweihundert Kriegsknechte, daß sie gen Casarea ziehen, und siebzig Reiter und zweihundert Schutzen auf die dritte Stunde der Nacht.

Y llamados dos centuriones, mandó que apercibiesen para la hora tercia de la noche doscientos soldados, que fuesen hasta Cesarea, y setenta de á caballo, y doscientos lanceros;

And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Cæsarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;

He called to himself two of the centurions, and said, “Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night.”

Und die Tiere richtet zu, daß sie Paulus draufsetzen und bringen ihn bewahret zu Felix, dem Landpfleger.

Y que aparejasen cabalgaduras en que poniendo á Pablo, le llevasen en salvo á Félix el Presidente.

And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

He asked them to provide mounts, that they might set Paul on one, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.

Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix sendeth greeting.

“Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.

Diesen Mann hatten die Juden gegriffen und wollten ihn getotet haben. Da kam ich mit dem Kriegsvolk dazu und rift ihn von ihnen und erfuhr, daß er ein Romer ist.

A este hombre, aprehendido de los Judíos, y que iban ellos á matar, libré yo acudiendo con la tropa, habiendo entendido que era Romano.

This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

“This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them when I came with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.

Da ich mich aber wollte erkundigen der Ursache, darum sie ihn beschuldigten, fuhrete ich ihn in ihren Rat.

Y queriendo saber la causa por qué le acusaban, le llevé al concilio de ellos:

And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:

Desiring to know the cause why they accused him, I brought him down to their council.

Da befand ich, daß er beschuldiget ward von den Fragen ihres Gesetzes, aber keine Anklage hatte, des Todes Oder der Bande wert.

Y hallé que le acusaban de cuestiones de la ley de ellos, y que ningún crimen tenía digno de muerte ó de prisión.

Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.

I found him to be accused about questions of their law, but not to be charged with anything worthy of death or of imprisonment.

Und da vor mich kam, daß etliche Juden auf ihn hielten, sandte ich ihn von Stund' an zu dir und entbot den Klagern auch, daß sie vor dir sagten, was sie wider ihn hatten. Gehab dich wohl!

Mas siéndome dado aviso de asechanzas que le habían aparejado los Judíos, luego al punto le he enviado á ti, intimando también á los acusadores que traten delante de ti lo que tienen contra él. Pásalo bien.

And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell.

When I was told that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him to you immediately, charging his accusers also to bring their accusations against him before you. Farewell.”

Die Kriegsknechte, wie ihnen befohlen war, nahmen Paulus und fuhreten ihn bei der Nacht gen Antipatris.

Y los soldados, tomando á Pablo como les era mandado, lleváronle de noche á Antipatris.

Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.

So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.

Des andern Tages aber lieften sie die Reiter mit ihm ziehen und wandten wieder um zum Lager.

Y al día siguiente, dejando á los de á caballo que fuesen con él, se volvieron á la fortaleza.

On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:

But on the next day they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the barracks.

Da die gen Casarea kamen, überantworteten sie den Brief dem Landpfleger und stelleten ihm Paulus auch dar.

Y como llegaron á Cesarea, y dieron la carta al gobernador, presentaron también á Pablo delante de él.

Who, when they came to Cæsarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.

When they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they also presented Paul to him.

Da der Landpfleger den Brief las, fragte er, aus welchem Lande erware. Und da er erkundet, daß er aus Zilizien ware, sprach er:

Y el gobernador, leída la carta, preguntó de qué provincia era; y entendiendo que de Cilicia,

And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;

When the governor had read it, he asked what province he was from. When he understood that he was from Cilicia, he said,

Ich will dich verhoren, wenn deine Verklager auch da sind. Und hieli ihn verwahren in dem Richthause des Herodes.

Te oiré, dijo, cuando vinieren tus acusadores. Y mandó que le guardasen en el pretorio de Herodes.

I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod’s judgment hall.

“I will hear you fully when your accusers also arrive.” He commanded that he be kept in Herod’s palace.
