E Paolo, affissati gli occhi nel concistoro, disse: Fratelli, io, fino a questo giorno, ho conversato presso Iddio con ogni buona coscienza.

ENTONCES Pablo, poniendo los ojos en el concilio, dice: Varones hermanos, yo con toda buena conciencia he conversado delante de Dios hasta el día de hoy.

And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, “Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”

E il sommo sacerdote Anania comandò a coloro ch'eran presso di lui di percuoterlo in su la bocca.

El príncipe de los sacerdotes, Ananías, mandó entonces á los que estaban delante de él, que le hiriesen en la boca.

And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

The high priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

Allora Paolo gli disse: Iddio ti percoterà, parete scialbata; tu siedi per giudicarmi secondo la legge, e trapassando la legge, comandi ch'io sia percosso!

Entonces Pablo le dijo: Herirte ha Dios, pared blanqueada: ¿y estás tú sentado para juzgarme conforme á la ley, y contra la ley me mandas herir?

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?”

E coloro ch'erano quivi presenti dissero: Ingiurii tu il sommo sacerdote di Dio?

Y los que estaban presentes dijeron: ¿Al sumo sacerdote de Dios maldices?

And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest?

Those who stood by said, “Do you malign God’s high priest?”

E Paolo disse: Fratelli, io non sapeva ch'egli fosse sommo sacerdote; perciocchè egli è scritto: Tu non dirai male del principe del tuo popolo.

Y Pablo dijo: No sabía, hermanos, que era el sumo sacerdote; pues escrito está: Al príncipe de tu pueblo no maldecirás.

Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Paul said, “I didn’t know, brothers, that he was high priest. For it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”

Or Paolo, sapendo che l'una parte era di Sadducei, e l'altra di Farisei, sclamò nel concistoro: Uomini fratelli, io son Fariseo, figliuol di Fariseo; io son giudicato per la speranza, e per la risurrezione de' morti.

Entonces Pablo, sabiendo que la una parte era de Saduceos, y la otra de Fariseos, clamó en el concilio: Varones hermanos, yo soy Fariseo, hijo de Fariseo: de la esperanza y de la resurrección de los muertos soy yo juzgado.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Men and brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. Concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!”

E, come egli ebbe detto questo, nacque dissensione tra i Farisei, e i Sadducei; e la moltitudine si divise.

Y como hubo dicho esto, fué hecha disensión entre los Fariseos y los Saduceos; y la multitud fué dividida.

And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

When he had said this, an argument arose between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the crowd was divided.

Perciocchè i Sadducei dicono che non vi è risurrezione, nè angelo, nè spirito; ma i Farisei confessano e l'uno e l'altro.

Porque los Saduceos dicen que no hay resurrección, ni ángel, ni espíritu; mas los Fariseos confiesan ambas cosas.

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

E si fece un gridar grande. E gli Scribi della parte de' Farisei, levatisi, contendevano, dicendo: Noi non troviamo male alcuno in quest'uomo; che se uno spirito, o un angelo, ha parlato a lui, non combattiamo contro a Dio.

Y levantóse un gran clamor: y levantándose los escribas de la parte de los Fariseos, contendían diciendo: Ningún mal hallamos en este hombre; que si espíritu le ha hablado, ó ángel, no resistamos á Dios.

And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and contended, saying, “We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let’s not fight against God!”

Ora, facendosi grande la dissensione, il capitano, temendo che Paolo non fosse da loro messo a pezzi, comandò a' soldati che scendessero giù, e lo rapissero del mezzo di loro, e lo menassero nella rocca.

Y habiendo grande disensión, el tribuno, teniendo temor de que Pablo fuese despedazado de ellos, mandó venir soldados, y arrebatarle de en medio de ellos, y llevarle á la fortaleza.

And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

When a great argument arose, the commanding officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them and bring him into the barracks.

E la notte seguente, il Signore si presentò a lui, e gli disse: Paolo, sta' di buon cuore, perciocchè, come tu hai resa testimonianza di me in Gerusalemme, così convienti renderla ancora a Roma.

Y la noche siguiente, presentándosele el Señor, le dijo: Confía, Pablo; que como has testificado de mí en Jerusalem, así es menester testifiques también en Roma.

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

The following night, the Lord stood by him and said, “Cheer up, Paul, for as you have testified about me at Jerusalem, so you must testify also at Rome.”

E, QUANDO fu giorno, certi Giudei fecero raunata, e sotto esecrazione si votarono, promettendo di non mangiare, nè bere, finchè non avessero ucciso Paolo.

Y venido el día, algunos de los Judíos se juntaron, é hicieron voto bajo de maldición, diciendo que ni comerían ni beberían hasta que hubiesen muerto á Pablo.

And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

E coloro che avean fatta questa congiura erano più di quaranta;

Y eran más de cuarenta los que habían hecho esta conjuración;

And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.

i quali vennero a' principali sacerdoti, ed agli anziani, e dissero: Noi ci siamo sotto esecrazione votati di non assaggiar cosa alcuna, finchè non abbiamo ucciso Paolo.

Los cuales se fueron á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y á los ancianos, y dijeron: Nosotros hemos hecho voto debajo de maldición, que no hemos de gustar nada hasta que hayamos muerto á Pablo.

And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

Or dunque, voi comparite davanti al capitano col concistoro, pregandolo che domani vel mani, come per conoscer più appieno del fatto suo; e noi, innanzi ch'egli giunga, siam pronti per ucciderlo.

Ahora pues, vosotros, con el concilio, requerid al tribuno que le saque mañana á vosotros como que queréis entender de él alguna cosa más cierta; y nosotros, antes que él llegue, estaremos aparejados para matarle.

Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

Now therefore, you with the council inform the commanding officer that he should bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to judge his case more exactly. We are ready to kill him before he comes near.”

Ma il figliuolo della sorella di Paolo, udite queste insidie, venne; ed entrato nella rocca, rapportò il fatto a Paolo.

Entonces un hijo de la hermana de Pablo, oyendo las asechanzas, fué, y entró en la fortaleza, y dió aviso á Pablo.

And when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

But Paul’s sister’s son heard they were lying in wait, and he came and entered into the barracks and told Paul.

E Paolo, chiamato a sè uno de' centurioni, disse: Mena questo giovane al capitano, perciocchè egli ha alcuna cosa da rapportargli.

Y Pablo, llamando á uno de los centuriones, dice: Lleva á este mancebo al tribuno, porque tiene cierto aviso que darle.

Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.

Paul summoned one of the centurions and said, “Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him.”

Egli adunque, presolo, lo menò al capitano, e disse: Paolo, quel prigione, mi ha chiamato, e mi ha pregato ch'io ti meni questo giovane, il quale ha alcuna cosa da dirti.

El entonces tomándole, le llevó al tribuno, y dijo: El preso Pablo, llamándome, me rogó que trajese á ti este mancebo, que tiene algo que hablarte.

So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

So he took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said, “Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”

E il capitano, presolo per la mano, e ritrattosi in disparte, lo domandò: Che cosa hai da rapportarmi?

Y el tribuno, tomándole de la mano y retirándose aparte, le preguntó: ¿Qué es lo que tienes que decirme?

Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?

The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”

Ed egli disse: I Giudei si son convenuti insieme di pregarti che domani tu meni giù Paolo nel concistoro, come per informarsi più appieno del fatto suo.

Y él dijo: Los Judíos han concertado rogarte que mañana saques á Pablo al concilio, como que han de inquirir de él alguna cosa más cierta.

And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

He said, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.

Ma tu non prestar loro fede, perciocchè più di quarant'uomini di loro gli hanno poste insidie, essendosi sotto esecrazione votati di non mangiare, nè bere, finchè non l'abbiano ucciso; ed ora son presti, aspettando che tu lo prometta loro.

Mas tú no los creas; porque más de cuarenta hombres de ellos le acechan, los cuales han hecho voto debajo de maldición, de no comer ni beber hasta que le hayan muerto; y ahora están apercibidos esperando tu promesa.

But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

Therefore don’t yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse to neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.”

Il capitano adunque licenziò il giovane, ordinandogli di non palesare ad alcuno che gli avesse fatte assaper queste cose.

Entonces el tribuno despidió al mancebo, mandándole que á nadie dijese que le había dado aviso de esto.

So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.

So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him, “Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”

Poi, chiamati due de' centurioni, disse loro: Tenete presti fin dalle tre ore della notte dugento soldati, e settanta cavalieri, e dugento sergenti, per andar fino in Cesarea.

Y llamados dos centuriones, mandó que apercibiesen para la hora tercia de la noche doscientos soldados, que fuesen hasta Cesarea, y setenta de á caballo, y doscientos lanceros;

And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Cæsarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;

He called to himself two of the centurions, and said, “Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night.”

Disse loro ancora che avessero delle cavalcature pronte, per farvi montar su Paolo, e condurlo salvamente al governatore Felice.

Y que aparejasen cabalgaduras en que poniendo á Pablo, le llevasen en salvo á Félix el Presidente.

And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

He asked them to provide mounts, that they might set Paul on one, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.

Al quale egli scrisse una lettera dell'infrascritto tenore:

Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix sendeth greeting.

“Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.

Quest'uomo, essendo stato preso dai Giudei, ed essendo in sul punto d'esser da loro ucciso io son sopraggiunto coi soldati, e l'ho riscosso, avendo inteso ch'egli era Romano.

A este hombre, aprehendido de los Judíos, y que iban ellos á matar, libré yo acudiendo con la tropa, habiendo entendido que era Romano.

This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

“This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them when I came with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.

E, volendo sapere il maleficio del quale l'accusavano, l'ho menato nel lor concistoro.

Y queriendo saber la causa por qué le acusaban, le llevé al concilio de ellos:

And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:

Desiring to know the cause why they accused him, I brought him down to their council.

Ed ho trovato ch'egli era accusato intorno alle quistioni della lor legge; e che non vi era in lui maleficio alcuno degno di morte, nè di prigione.

Y hallé que le acusaban de cuestiones de la ley de ellos, y que ningún crimen tenía digno de muerte ó de prisión.

Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.

I found him to be accused about questions of their law, but not to be charged with anything worthy of death or of imprisonment.

Ora, essendomi state significate le insidie, che sarebbero da' Giudei poste a quest'uomo, in quello stante l'ho mandato a te, ordinando eziandio a' suoi accusatori di dir davanti a te le cose che hanno contro a lui. Sta' sano.

Mas siéndome dado aviso de asechanzas que le habían aparejado los Judíos, luego al punto le he enviado á ti, intimando también á los acusadores que traten delante de ti lo que tienen contra él. Pásalo bien.

And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell.

When I was told that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him to you immediately, charging his accusers also to bring their accusations against him before you. Farewell.”

I soldati adunque, secondo ch'era loro stato ordinato, presero con loro Paolo, e lo condussero di notte in Antipatrida.

Y los soldados, tomando á Pablo como les era mandado, lleváronle de noche á Antipatris.

Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.

So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.

E il giorno seguente, lasciati i cavalieri per andar con lui, ritornarono alla rocca.

Y al día siguiente, dejando á los de á caballo que fuesen con él, se volvieron á la fortaleza.

On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:

But on the next day they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the barracks.

E quelli, giunti in Cesarea, e consegnata la lettera al governatore, gli presentarono ancora Paolo.

Y como llegaron á Cesarea, y dieron la carta al gobernador, presentaron también á Pablo delante de él.

Who, when they came to Cæsarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.

When they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they also presented Paul to him.

E il governatore, avendo letta la lettera, e domandato a Paolo di qual provincia egli era, e inteso ch'egli era di Cilicia, gli disse:

Y el gobernador, leída la carta, preguntó de qué provincia era; y entendiendo que de Cilicia,

And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;

When the governor had read it, he asked what province he was from. When he understood that he was from Cilicia, he said,

Io ti udirò, quando i tuoi accusatori saranno venuti anch'essi. E comandò che fosse guardato nel palazzo di Erode.

Te oiré, dijo, cuando vinieren tus acusadores. Y mandó que le guardasen en el pretorio de Herodes.

I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod’s judgment hall.

“I will hear you fully when your accusers also arrive.” He commanded that he be kept in Herod’s palace.
