And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

En esto el príncipe de los sacerdotes Ananías mandó a sus ministros que le hiriesen en la boca.

And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

Entonces le dijo Pablo: Herirte ha Dios a ti, pared blanqueada. ¿Tú estás sentado para juzgarme según la ley, y contra la ley mandas herirme?

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?”
Los circunstantes le dijeron: ¿Cómo maldices tú al sumo sacerdote de Dios?
Y los que estaban presentes dijeron: ¿Al sumo sacerdote de Dios maldices?
And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest?
Those who stood by said, “Do you malign God’s high priest?”
A esto respondió Pablo: Hermanos, no sabía que fuese el príncipe de los sacerdotes. Porque realmente escrito está: No maldecirás al príncipe de tu pueblo.
Y Pablo dijo: No sabía, hermanos, que era el sumo sacerdote; pues escrito está: Al príncipe de tu pueblo no maldecirás.
Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
Paul said, “I didn’t know, brothers, that he was high priest. For it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”
Sabiendo Pablo que parte de los que asistían eran saduceos y parte fariseos, exclamó en medio del sanedrín: Hermanos míos, yo soy fariseo, hijo de fariseos y por causa de mi esperanza de la resurrección de los muertos es por lo que voy a ser condenado.
Entonces Pablo, sabiendo que la una parte era de Saduceos, y la otra de Fariseos, clamó en el concilio: Varones hermanos, yo soy Fariseo, hijo de Fariseo: de la esperanza y de la resurrección de los muertos soy yo juzgado.
But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Desde que hubo proferido estas palabras, se suscitó discordia entre los fariseos y saduceos, y se dividió la asamblea en dos partidos.
Y como hubo dicho esto, fué hecha disensión entre los Fariseos y los Saduceos; y la multitud fué dividida.
And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

Porque los saduceos dicen que no hay resurrección , ni ángel ni espíritu; cuando al contrario los fariseos confiesan ambas cosas.

And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and contended, saying, “We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let’s not fight against God!”
Y enardeciéndose más la discordia, temeroso el tribuno que despedazasen a Pablo, mandó bajar a los soldados, para que le quitasen de en medio de ellos, y le condujesen a la fortaleza.
Y habiendo grande disensión, el tribuno, teniendo temor de que Pablo fuese despedazado de ellos, mandó venir soldados, y arrebatarle de en medio de ellos, y llevarle á la fortaleza.
And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.
When a great argument arose, the commanding officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them and bring him into the barracks.
A la noche siguiente se le apareció el Señor, y le dijo: ¡Pablo, buen ánimo!, así como has dado testimonio de mí en Jerusalén , así conviene también que lo des en Roma.

Venido el día se juntaron algunos judíos, e hicieron voto con juramento e imprecación, de no comer ni beber hasta haber matado a Pablo.
Y venido el día, algunos de los Judíos se juntaron, é hicieron voto bajo de maldición, diciendo que ni comerían ni beberían hasta que hubiesen muerto á Pablo.

Mas como un hijo de la hermana de Pablo entendiese la trama, fue, y entró en la fortaleza, y dio aviso a Pablo.
Entonces un hijo de la hermana de Pablo, oyendo las asechanzas, fué, y entró en la fortaleza, y dió aviso á Pablo.
And when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

Pablo llamado a uno de los centuriones, dijo: Lleva este mozo al tribuno, porque tiene que participarle cierta cosa.
Y Pablo, llamando á uno de los centuriones, dice: Lleva á este mancebo al tribuno, porque tiene cierto aviso que darle.
Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.
Paul summoned one of the centurions and said, “Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him.”
El centurión tomándole consigo le condujo al tribuno, y dijo: Pablo el preso me ha pedido que traiga a tu presencia a este joven, que tiene que comunicarte alguna cosa.
El entonces tomándole, le llevó al tribuno, y dijo: El preso Pablo, llamándome, me rogó que trajese á ti este mancebo, que tiene algo que hablarte.
So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.
So he took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said, “Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”
El tribuno cogiendo de la mano al mancebo, se retiró con él a solas, y le preguntó: ¿Qué es lo que tienes que comunicarme?
Y el tribuno, tomándole de la mano y retirándose aparte, le preguntó: ¿Qué es lo que tienes que decirme?
Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?
The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”
El respondió: Los judíos han acordado el suplicarte que mañana conduzcas a Pablo al concilio, con pretexto de querer examinarle más individualmente de algún punto.
Y él dijo: Los Judíos han concertado rogarte que mañana saques á Pablo al concilio, como que han de inquirir de él alguna cosa más cierta.
And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
He said, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.
Pero tú no los creas, porque de ellos le tienen armadas acechanzas más de cuarenta hombres, los cuales con grandes juramentos han hecho voto de no comer ni beber hasta que le maten; y ya están alerta, esperando que tú les concedas lo que piden.
Mas tú no los creas; porque más de cuarenta hombres de ellos le acechan, los cuales han hecho voto debajo de maldición, de no comer ni beber hasta que le hayan muerto; y ahora están apercibidos esperando tu promesa.
But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.
Therefore don’t yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse to neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.”
El tribuno despidió al muchacho, mandándole que a nadie dijese que había hecho aquella delación.
Entonces el tribuno despidió al mancebo, mandándole que á nadie dijese que le había dado aviso de esto.
So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.
So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him, “Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”
Y llamando a dos centuriones, les dijo: Tened prevenidos para las nueve de la noche doscientos soldados de infantería, para que vayan a Cesarea, y setenta de caballería, y doscientos alabarderos, o lanceros:
Y llamados dos centuriones, mandó que apercibiesen para la hora tercia de la noche doscientos soldados, que fuesen hasta Cesarea, y setenta de á caballo, y doscientos lanceros;
And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Cæsarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;
He called to himself two of the centurions, and said, “Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night.”
Y preparad bagajes para que lleven a Pablo, y le conduzcan sin peligro de su vida al gobernador Félix.
Y que aparejasen cabalgaduras en que poniendo á Pablo, le llevasen en salvo á Félix el Presidente.
And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

(Porque temió el tribuno que los judíos le arrebatasen, y matasen, y después él mismo padeciese la calumnia de haberlo permitido, sobornado con dinero). Y al mismo tiempo escribió una carta al gobernador Félix, en los términos siguientes:

A ese hombre preso por los judíos, y a punto de ser muerto por ellos, acudiendo con la tropa le libré, noticioso de que era ciudadano romano;
A este hombre, aprehendido de los Judíos, y que iban ellos á matar, libré yo acudiendo con la tropa, habiendo entendido que era Romano.
This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.
“This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them when I came with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.
y queriendo informarme del delito de que le acusaban, condújele a su sanedrín.
Y queriendo saber la causa por qué le acusaban, le llevé al concilio de ellos:
And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:
Desiring to know the cause why they accused him, I brought him down to their council.
Allí averigüé que es acusado sobre cuestiones de su ley de ellos; pero que no ha cometido ningún delito digno de muerte o de prisión.
Y hallé que le acusaban de cuestiones de la ley de ellos, y que ningún crimen tenía digno de muerte ó de prisión.
Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.
I found him to be accused about questions of their law, but not to be charged with anything worthy of death or of imprisonment.
Y avisado después de que los judíos le tenían urdidas acechanzas, te lo envío a ti, previniendo también a sus acusadores que recurran a tu tribunal. Ten salud.
Mas siéndome dado aviso de asechanzas que le habían aparejado los Judíos, luego al punto le he enviado á ti, intimando también á los acusadores que traten delante de ti lo que tienen contra él. Pásalo bien.
And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell.
When I was told that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him to you immediately, charging his accusers also to bring their accusations against him before you. Farewell.”
Los soldados, pues, según la orden que se les había dado, encargándose de Pablo, le condujeron de noche a la ciudad de Antipátrida.
Y los soldados, tomando á Pablo como les era mandado, lleváronle de noche á Antipatris.
Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.
So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.
Al día siguiente dejando a los de a caballo para que le acompañasen, se volvieron los demás a la fortaleza.

On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:

Llegados que fueron a Cesarea, y entregada la carta al gobernador, le presentaron así mismo a Pablo.
Y como llegaron á Cesarea, y dieron la carta al gobernador, presentaron también á Pablo delante de él.
Who, when they came to Cæsarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.

Luego que leyó la carta, le preguntó de qué provincia era, y oído que de Cilicia, dijo:

And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;

Te daré audiencia viniendo tus acusadores. Entre tanto mandó que le custodiasen en el pretorio llamado de Herodes .
Te oiré, dijo, cuando vinieren tus acusadores. Y mandó que le guardasen en el pretorio de Herodes.
I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod’s judgment hall.
“I will hear you fully when your accusers also arrive.” He commanded that he be kept in Herod’s palace.
