Or cinq jours après Ananias le souverain Sacrificateur descendit avec les Anciens, et un certain orateur, nommé Tertulle, qui comparurent devant le Gouverneur contre Paul.

Y CINCO días después descendió el sumo sacerdote Ananías, con algunos de los ancianos, y un cierto Tértulo, orador; y parecieron delante del gobernador contra Pablo.

And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

After five days, the high priest, Ananias, came down with certain elders and an orator, one Tertullus. They informed the governor against Paul.

Et Paul étant appelé, Tertulle commença à l’accuser, en disant :

Y citado que fué, Tértulo comenzó á acusar, diciendo: Como por causa tuya vivamos en grande paz, y muchas cosas sean bien gobernadas en el pueblo por tu prudencia,

And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

When he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, “Seeing that by you we enjoy much peace, and that prosperity is coming to this nation by your foresight,

Très-excellent Félix, nous connaissons en toutes choses et avec toute sorte de remercîment, que nous avons obtenu une grande tranquillité par ton moyen, et par les bons règlements que tu as faits pour ce peuple, selon ta prudence.

Siempre y en todo lugar lo recibimos con todo hacimiento de gracias, oh excelentísimo Félix.

We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

we accept it in all ways and in all places, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.

Mais afin de ne t’arrêter pas longtemps, je te prie de nous entendre, selon ton équité, dans ce que nous allons te dire en peu de paroles.

Empero por no molestarte más largamente, ruégote que nos oigas brevemente conforme á tu equidad.

Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.

But that I don’t delay you, I entreat you to bear with us and hear a few words.

Nous avons trouvé que c’est ici un homme fort dangereux, qui excite des séditions parmi tous les Juifs dans tout le monde, et qui est le chef de la secte des Nazariens.

Porque hemos hallado que este hombre es pestilencial, y levantador de sediciones entre todos los Judíos por todo el mundo, y príncipe de la secta de los Nazarenos:

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

Il a même attenté de profaner le Temple ; et nous l’avons saisi, et l’avons voulu juger selon notre Loi.

El cual también tentó á violar el templo; y prendiéndole, le quisimos juzgar conforme á nuestra ley:

Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

He even tried to profane the temple, and we arrested him.

Mais le Tribun Lysias étant survenu, il nous l’a ôté d’entre les mains avec une grande violence,

Mas interviniendo el tribuno Lisias, con grande violencia le quitó de nuestras manos,

But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,

—

Commandant que ses accusateurs vinssent vers toi ; et tu pourras toi-même savoir de lui, en l’interrogeant, toutes ces choses desquelles nous l’accusons.

Mandando á sus acusadores que viniesen á ti; del cual tú mismo juzgando, podrás entender todas estas cosas de que le acusamos.

Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”

Les Juifs acquiescèrent à cela et dirent que les choses étaient ainsi.

Y contendían también los Judíos, diciendo ser así estas cosas.

And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

The Jews also joined in the attack, affirming that these things were so.

Et après que le Gouverneur eut fait signe à Paul de parler, il répondit : Sachant qu’il y a déjà plusieurs années que tu es le Juge de cette nation, je réponds pour moi avec plus de courage.

Entonces Pablo, haciéndole el gobernador señal que hablase, respondió: Porque sé que muchos años ha eres gobernador de esta nación, con buen ánimo satisfaré por mí.

Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

When the governor had beckoned to him to speak, Paul answered, “Because I know that you have been a judge of this nation for many years, I cheerfully make my defense,

Puisque tu peux connaître qu’il n’y a pas plus de douze jours que je suis monté à Jérusalem pour adorer Dieu.

Porque tú puedes entender que no hace más de doce días que subí á adorar á Jerusalem;

Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

seeing that you can verify that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem.

Mais ils ne m’ont point trouvé dans le Temple disputant avec personne, ni faisant un amas de peuple, soit dans les Synagogues, soit dans la ville.

Y ni me hallaron en el templo disputando con ninguno, ni haciendo concurso de multitud, ni en sinagogas, ni en la ciudad;

And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

In the temple they didn’t find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the synagogues or in the city.

Et ils ne sauraient soutenir les choses dont ils m’accusent présentement.

Ni te pueden probar las cosas de que ahora me acusan.

Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

Nor can they prove to you the things of which they now accuse me.

Or je te confesse bien ce point, que selon la voie qu’ils appellent secte, je sers ainsi le Dieu de mes pères, croyant toutes les choses qui sont écrites dans la Loi et dans les Prophètes.

Esto empero te confieso, que conforme á aquel Camino que llaman herejía, así sirvo al Dios de mis padres, creyendo todas las cosas que en la ley y en los profetas están escritas;

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;

Et ayant espérance en Dieu, que la résurrection des morts, tant des justes que des injustes, laquelle ceux-ci attendent aussi eux- mêmes, arrivera.

Teniendo esperanza en Dios que ha de haber resurrección de los muertos, así de justos como de injustos, la cual también ellos esperan.

And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

C’est pourquoi aussi je travaille d’avoir toujours la conscience pure devant Dieu, et devant les hommes.

Y por esto, procuro yo tener siempre conciencia sin remordimiento acerca de Dios y acerca de los hombres.

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

In this I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.

Or après plusieurs années, je suis venu pour faire des aumônes et des oblations dans ma nation.

Mas pasados muchos años, vine á hacer limosnas á mi nación, y ofrendas,

Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

Now after some years, I came to bring gifts for the needy to my nation, and offerings;

Et comme je m’occupais à cela, ils m’ont trouvé purifié dans le Temple, sans attroupement et sans tumulte.

Cuando me hallaron purificado en el templo (no con multitud ni con alboroto) unos Judíos de Asia;

Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

amid which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, not with a mob, nor with turmoil.

Et c’étaient de certains Juifs d’Asie,

Los cuales debieron comparecer delante de ti, y acusarme, si contra mí tenían algo.

Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.

They ought to have been here before you and to make accusation if they had anything against me.

Qui devaient comparaître devant toi, et m’accuser, s’ils avaient quelque chose contre moi.

O digan estos mismos si hallaron en mí alguna cosa mal hecha, cuando yo estuve en el concilio,

Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,

Or else let these men themselves say what injustice they found in me when I stood before the council,

Ou que ceux-ci eux-mêmes disent, s’ils ont trouvé en moi quelque injustice, quand j’ai été présenté au Conseil ;

Si no sea que, estando entre ellos prorrumpí en alta voz: Acerca de la resurrección de los muertos soy hoy juzgado de vosotros.

Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

unless it is for this one thing that I cried standing among them, ‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged before you today!’”

Sinon cette seule parole que j’ai dite hautement devant eux : aujourd’hui je suis tiré en cause par vous, pour la résurrection des morts.

Entonces Félix, oídas estas cosas, estando bien informado de esta secta, les puso dilación, diciendo: Cuando descendiere el tribuno Lisias acabaré de conocer de vuestro negocio.

And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, “When Lysias, the commanding officer, comes down, I will decide your case.”

Et Félix ayant ouï ces choses, le remit à une autre fois, en disant : après que j’aurai plus exactement connu ce que c’est de cette secte, quand le Tribun Lysias sera descendu, je connaîtrai entièrement de vos affaires.

Y mandó al centurión que Pablo fuese guardado, y aliviado de las prisiones; y que no vedase á ninguno de sus familiares servirle, ó venir á él.

And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

He ordered the centurion that Paul should be kept in custody and should have some privileges, and not to forbid any of his friends to serve him or to visit him.

Et il commanda à un centenier que Paul fût gardé, mais qu’il eût aussi quelque relâche, et qu’on n’empêchât aucun des siens de le servir, ou de venir vers lui.

Y algunos días después, viniendo Félix con Drusila, su mujer, la cual era Judía, llamó á Pablo, y oyó de él la fe que es en Jesucristo.

And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

After some days, Felix came with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.

Or quelques jours après, Félix vint avec Drusille sa femme, qui était Juive, et il envoya quérir Paul, et l’ouït parler de la foi qui est en Christ.

Y disertando él de la justicia, y de la continencia, y del juicio venidero, espantado Félix, respondió: Ahora vete; mas en teniendo oportunidad te llamaré:

And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

As he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, “Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you.”

Et comme il parlait de la justice, et de la tempérance, et du jugement à venir, Félix tout effrayé répondit : pour le présent va- t’en, et quand j’aurai la commodité, je te rappellerai ;

Esperando también con esto, que de parte de Pablo le serían dados dineros, porque le soltase; por lo cual, haciéndole venir muchas veces, hablaba con él.

He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

Meanwhile, he also hoped that money would be given to him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore also he sent for him more often and talked with him.

Espérant aussi en même temps que Paul lui donnerait quelque argent pour le délivrer, c’est pourquoi il l’envoyait quérir souvent, et s’entretenait avec lui.

Mas al cabo de dos años recibió Félix por sucesor á Porcio Festo: y queriendo Félix ganar la gracia de los Judíos, dejó preso á Pablo.

But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

Or après deux ans accomplis Félix eut pour successeur Porcius Festus, qui voulant faire plaisir aux Juifs, laissa Paul en prison.
