Cinco días después, llegó el jefe de los sacerdotes, Ananías, acompañado de algunos de los ancianos y de un abogado llamado Tértulo. Ellos fueron ante el gobernador para acusar a Pablo.
Y CINCO días después descendió el sumo sacerdote Ananías, con algunos de los ancianos, y un cierto Tértulo, orador; y parecieron delante del gobernador contra Pablo.
And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.
After five days, the high priest, Ananias, came down with certain elders and an orator, one Tertullus. They informed the governor against Paul.
Cuando trajeron a Pablo, Tértulo comenzó su acusación ante Félix diciendo: ―Señor gobernador, gracias a su mandato hemos tenido paz por mucho tiempo. También gracias a usted muchas cosas han mejorado en esta nación.
Y citado que fué, Tértulo comenzó á acusar, diciendo: Como por causa tuya vivamos en grande paz, y muchas cosas sean bien gobernadas en el pueblo por tu prudencia,
And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
When he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, “Seeing that by you we enjoy much peace, and that prosperity is coming to this nation by your foresight,
Esto lo reconocemos con gratitud, en todas partes y en todo momento, excelentísimo Félix.
Siempre y en todo lugar lo recibimos con todo hacimiento de gracias, oh excelentísimo Félix.
We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

Pero para no causarle más molestias y abusar de su bondad, quisiera que nos escuche por un momento.

Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.
But that I don’t delay you, I entreat you to bear with us and hear a few words.
Hemos comprobado que este hombre es como una plaga pues anda por todas partes causando divisiones entre los judíos. Él es el cabecilla de una secta llamada los nazarenos.
Porque hemos hallado que este hombre es pestilencial, y levantador de sediciones entre todos los Judíos por todo el mundo, y príncipe de la secta de los Nazarenos:
For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.
También trató de profanar el templo, y por eso lo arrestamos.
El cual también tentó á violar el templo; y prendiéndole, le quisimos juzgar conforme á nuestra ley:
Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
He even tried to profane the temple, and we arrested him.

Mas interviniendo el tribuno Lisias, con grande violencia le quitó de nuestras manos,
But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,

Usted mismo puede interrogarlo y darse cuenta de que todas las acusaciones que le hacemos son verdad.
Mandando á sus acusadores que viniesen á ti; del cual tú mismo juzgando, podrás entender todas estas cosas de que le acusamos.
Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.
By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”
Los judíos afirmaron que la acusación era cierta.
Y contendían también los Judíos, diciendo ser así estas cosas.
And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.
The Jews also joined in the attack, affirming that these things were so.
El gobernador, por medio de una seña, le concedió la palabra a Pablo y este dijo: ―Sé que desde hace muchos años usted ha sido juez de esta nación. Por eso con gusto presento mi defensa.
Entonces Pablo, haciéndole el gobernador señal que hablase, respondió: Porque sé que muchos años ha eres gobernador de esta nación, con buen ánimo satisfaré por mí.
Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
When the governor had beckoned to him to speak, Paul answered, “Because I know that you have been a judge of this nation for many years, I cheerfully make my defense,
Usted puede comprobar que apenas hace doce días que llegué a Jerusalén para adorar en el templo.
Porque tú puedes entender que no hace más de doce días que subí á adorar á Jerusalem;
Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
seeing that you can verify that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem.
Los que me acusan no me encontraron discutiendo con nadie en el templo, ni alborotando a la gente en las sinagogas ni en ninguna otra parte de la ciudad.
Y ni me hallaron en el templo disputando con ninguno, ni haciendo concurso de multitud, ni en sinagogas, ni en la ciudad;
And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
In the temple they didn’t find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the synagogues or in the city.
Ellos no pueden probar las cosas de las que me acusan.
Ni te pueden probar las cosas de que ahora me acusan.
Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
Nor can they prove to you the things of which they now accuse me.
»Pero esto sí confieso: que adoro al Dios de nuestros antepasados y que sigo este Camino que los que me acusan llaman secta. Yo estoy de acuerdo con todo lo que enseña la ley y creo lo que está escrito en los profetas.
Esto empero te confieso, que conforme á aquel Camino que llaman herejía, así sirvo al Dios de mis padres, creyendo todas las cosas que en la ley y en los profetas están escritas;
But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;
Al igual que estos hombres, tengo la esperanza en Dios de que él resucitará tanto a los justos como a los injustos.
Teniendo esperanza en Dios que ha de haber resurrección de los muertos, así de justos como de injustos, la cual también ellos esperan.
And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Por eso trato de que mi conciencia esté siempre limpia delante de Dios y de los hombres.
Y por esto, procuro yo tener siempre conciencia sin remordimiento acerca de Dios y acerca de los hombres.
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
In this I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.
»Depués de haber estado fuera de Jerusalén por varios años, regresé para traer donativos a mi pueblo y presentar ofrendas.
Mas pasados muchos años, vine á hacer limosnas á mi nación, y ofrendas,
Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.
Now after some years, I came to bring gifts for the needy to my nation, and offerings;
Eso es lo que estaba haciendo en el templo. Ya me había purificado cuando ellos me encontraron. No había conmigo ni mucha gente ni estaba yo haciendo ningún alboroto.
Cuando me hallaron purificado en el templo (no con multitud ni con alboroto) unos Judíos de Asia;
Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.
amid which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, not with a mob, nor with turmoil.
Los que estaban allí eran algunos judíos de la provincia de Asia. Ellos son los que deberían estar aquí, frente a usted, para acusarme. Si es que tienen algo en mi contra.
Los cuales debieron comparecer delante de ti, y acusarme, si contra mí tenían algo.
Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.
They ought to have been here before you and to make accusation if they had anything against me.
Pero si no es así, que los que están aquí digan si encontraron en mí algún delito, cuando me llevaron ante el Consejo.
O digan estos mismos si hallaron en mí alguna cosa mal hecha, cuando yo estuve en el concilio,
Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
Or else let these men themselves say what injustice they found in me when I stood before the council,
Tal vez fue lo que dije en voz alta delante de ellos: “Ustedes me están juzgando hoy porque creo en la resurrección de los muertos”».
Si no sea que, estando entre ellos prorrumpí en alta voz: Acerca de la resurrección de los muertos soy hoy juzgado de vosotros.
Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
unless it is for this one thing that I cried standing among them, ‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged before you today!’”
Félix, que estaba bien informado acerca del Camino, cuando escuchó esto, terminó con la sesión y les dijo: ―Cuando venga el comandante Lisias sabré más de esto y decidiré qué hacer.
Entonces Félix, oídas estas cosas, estando bien informado de esta secta, les puso dilación, diciendo: Cuando descendiere el tribuno Lisias acabaré de conocer de vuestro negocio.
And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, “When Lysias, the commanding officer, comes down, I will decide your case.”
Luego le ordenó al capitán que mantuviera preso a Pablo, pero que le diera un poco de libertad y les permitiera a sus amigos atenderlo.
Y mandó al centurión que Pablo fuese guardado, y aliviado de las prisiones; y que no vedase á ninguno de sus familiares servirle, ó venir á él.
And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.
He ordered the centurion that Paul should be kept in custody and should have some privileges, and not to forbid any of his friends to serve him or to visit him.
Algunos días después, Félix llegó acompañado de Drusila su esposa, que era judía. Él mandó llamar a Pablo y lo escuchó hablar de la fe en Cristo Jesús.
Y algunos días después, viniendo Félix con Drusila, su mujer, la cual era Judía, llamó á Pablo, y oyó de él la fe que es en Jesucristo.
And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
After some days, Felix came with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.
Cuando Pablo se puso a hablar sobre la justicia, el dominio propio y el juicio venidero, Félix tuvo miedo. Entonces le dijo: «¡Basta, es suficiente por ahora! Puedes retirarte. Cuando tenga tiempo te volveré a llamar».
Y disertando él de la justicia, y de la continencia, y del juicio venidero, espantado Félix, respondió: Ahora vete; mas en teniendo oportunidad te llamaré:
And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
As he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, “Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you.”
Félix mandaba llamar a Pablo con frecuencia y conversaba con él, pues quería que Pablo le ofreciera dinero.
Esperando también con esto, que de parte de Pablo le serían dados dineros, porque le soltase; por lo cual, haciéndole venir muchas veces, hablaba con él.
He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
Meanwhile, he also hoped that money would be given to him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore also he sent for him more often and talked with him.
Después de dos años, a Félix lo sustituyó Porcio Festo. Como Félix quería quedar bien con los judíos, dejó preso a Pablo.
Mas al cabo de dos años recibió Félix por sucesor á Porcio Festo: y queriendo Félix ganar la gracia de los Judíos, dejó preso á Pablo.
But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.
