Nach fünf Tagen begab sich der Hohepriester Ananias mit den Ältesten und einem Redner Tertullus hinab, allwo sie vor dem Landpfleger wider Paulus auftraten.

Y CINCO días después descendió el sumo sacerdote Ananías, con algunos de los ancianos, y un cierto Tértulo, orador; y parecieron delante del gobernador contra Pablo.

And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

After five days, the high priest, Ananias, came down with certain elders and an orator, one Tertullus. They informed the governor against Paul.

Als er vorgerufen ward, fing der Redner seine Anklage damit an, daß er sprach:

Y citado que fué, Tértulo comenzó á acusar, diciendo: Como por causa tuya vivamos en grande paz, y muchas cosas sean bien gobernadas en el pueblo por tu prudencia,

And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

When he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, “Seeing that by you we enjoy much peace, and that prosperity is coming to this nation by your foresight,

Daß wir in tiefem Frieden leben durch dich, und unser Volk durch deine Vorsorge sich besserer Einrichtungen erfreut, edelster Felix, erkennen wir allezeit und allenthalben auf das dankbarste an.

Siempre y en todo lugar lo recibimos con todo hacimiento de gracias, oh excelentísimo Félix.

We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

we accept it in all ways and in all places, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.

Auf daß ich dich aber nicht zu lange aufhalte, bitte ich dich, uns nach deiner Güte kürzlich anzuhören.

Empero por no molestarte más largamente, ruégote que nos oigas brevemente conforme á tu equidad.

Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.

But that I don’t delay you, I entreat you to bear with us and hear a few words.

Wir haben diesen Mann als verderblich erfunden, und daß er unter allen Juden in der Welt Unruhen erregt und der Anführer der Sekte der Nazarener ist,

Porque hemos hallado que este hombre es pestilencial, y levantador de sediciones entre todos los Judíos por todo el mundo, y príncipe de la secta de los Nazarenos:

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

Der auch versucht hat, den Tempel zu entweihen, worauf wir ihn ergriffen und nach unserem Gesetz richten wollten.

El cual también tentó á violar el templo; y prendiéndole, le quisimos juzgar conforme á nuestra ley:

Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

He even tried to profane the temple, and we arrested him.

Da erschien der Oberste Lysius mit vieler Mannschaft und führte ihn weg aus unseren Händen,

Mas interviniendo el tribuno Lisias, con grande violencia le quitó de nuestras manos,

But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,

—

Und hieß seine Ankläger vor dich kommen. Von ihm kannst du selbst, wenn du ihn hören willst, erfahren, wessen wir ihn anklagen.

Mandando á sus acusadores que viniesen á ti; del cual tú mismo juzgando, podrás entender todas estas cosas de que le acusamos.

Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”

Auch die Juden fielen mit ein und bestätigten, daß es sich also verhielte.

Y contendían también los Judíos, diciendo ser así estas cosas.

And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

The Jews also joined in the attack, affirming that these things were so.

Als der Landpfleger Paulus winkte, zu reden, begann er: Da ich weiß, daß du seit vielen Jahren unter diesem Volke Richter bist, so verantworte ich mich umso getroster.

Entonces Pablo, haciéndole el gobernador señal que hablase, respondió: Porque sé que muchos años ha eres gobernador de esta nación, con buen ánimo satisfaré por mí.

Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

When the governor had beckoned to him to speak, Paul answered, “Because I know that you have been a judge of this nation for many years, I cheerfully make my defense,

Du kannst erfahren, daß es nicht mehr denn zwölf Tage sind, seit ich gen Jerusalem gekommen bin anzubeten.

Porque tú puedes entender que no hace más de doce días que subí á adorar á Jerusalem;

Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

seeing that you can verify that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem.

Auch haben sie mich nicht erfunden, daß ich im Tempel mit jemand redete, noch einen Auflauf der Menge in den Synagogen oder in der Stadt erregte.

Y ni me hallaron en el templo disputando con ninguno, ni haciendo concurso de multitud, ni en sinagogas, ni en la ciudad;

And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

In the temple they didn’t find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the synagogues or in the city.

Auch können sie das, was sie mir Schuld geben, nicht beweisen.

Ni te pueden probar las cosas de que ahora me acusan.

Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

Nor can they prove to you the things of which they now accuse me.

Soviel aber bekenne ich dir, daß ich nach dem Lehrwege, den sie eine Sekte nennen, dem Gott meiner Väter diene und an alles glaube, was in dem Gesetz und den Propheten geschrieben steht;

Esto empero te confieso, que conforme á aquel Camino que llaman herejía, así sirvo al Dios de mis padres, creyendo todas las cosas que en la ley y en los profetas están escritas;

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;

Indem ich dieselbe Hoffnung auf Gott habe, welche diese selbst auch haben, daß eine Auferstehung der Toten, sowohl der Gerechten als der Ungerechten, zukünftig sei.

Teniendo esperanza en Dios que ha de haber resurrección de los muertos, así de justos como de injustos, la cual también ellos esperan.

And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Deshalb befleißige ich mich auch gegen Gott und die Menschen, allenthalben ein reines Gewissen zu erhalten.

Y por esto, procuro yo tener siempre conciencia sin remordimiento acerca de Dios y acerca de los hombres.

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

In this I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.

Nach mehreren Jahren kam ich hin, um meinem Volke Almosen und Opfer zu bringen.

Mas pasados muchos años, vine á hacer limosnas á mi nación, y ofrendas,

Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

Now after some years, I came to bring gifts for the needy to my nation, and offerings;

Dabei fanden sie mich, wie ich mich im Tempel heiligte, ohne Ruhestörung oder Getümmel.

Cuando me hallaron purificado en el templo (no con multitud ni con alboroto) unos Judíos de Asia;

Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

amid which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, not with a mob, nor with turmoil.

Das aber waren etliche Juden aus Asien. Die hätten vor dir auftreten und mich verklagen sollen, so sie etwas gegen mich hätten.

Los cuales debieron comparecer delante de ti, y acusarme, si contra mí tenían algo.

Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.

They ought to have been here before you and to make accusation if they had anything against me.

Oder die da sollen selbst sagen, was für eine Schuld sie gegen mich fanden, als ich vor dem Rat stand;

O digan estos mismos si hallaron en mí alguna cosa mal hecha, cuando yo estuve en el concilio,

Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,

Or else let these men themselves say what injustice they found in me when I stood before the council,

Außer etwa wegen der einzigen Rede, da ich unter ihnen stand und rief: Ich werde heute wegen der Auferstehung der Toten vor euch gerichtet.

Si no sea que, estando entre ellos prorrumpí en alta voz: Acerca de la resurrección de los muertos soy hoy juzgado de vosotros.

Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

unless it is for this one thing that I cried standing among them, ‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged before you today!’”

Als Felix solches hörte, beschied er sie auf weiteres, weil er näheres über die Lehre wußte, und sagte: Wenn der Oberste Lysias herabkommt, will ich über eure Sache erkennen.

Entonces Félix, oídas estas cosas, estando bien informado de esta secta, les puso dilación, diciendo: Cuando descendiere el tribuno Lisias acabaré de conocer de vuestro negocio.

And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, “When Lysias, the commanding officer, comes down, I will decide your case.”

Dem Hauptmann aber befahl er, ihn in Gewahrsam zu halten, ihn aber gelinde zu behandeln und keinem der Seinen zu wehren, ihm zu Dienste zu sein.

Y mandó al centurión que Pablo fuese guardado, y aliviado de las prisiones; y que no vedase á ninguno de sus familiares servirle, ó venir á él.

And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

He ordered the centurion that Paul should be kept in custody and should have some privileges, and not to forbid any of his friends to serve him or to visit him.

Nach etlichen Tagen aber kam Felix mit seinem Weibe Drusilla, die eine Jüdin war, ließ Paulus rufen und hörte ihn über den Glauben an Christus.

Y algunos días después, viniendo Félix con Drusila, su mujer, la cual era Judía, llamó á Pablo, y oyó de él la fe que es en Jesucristo.

And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

After some days, Felix came with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.

Als er aber von Rechtschaffenheit und Keuschheit und künftigem Gericht redete, ward Felix betreten und sagte: Gehe vorerst hin. Wenn ich gelegene Zeit habe, will ich dich wieder rufen lassen.

Y disertando él de la justicia, y de la continencia, y del juicio venidero, espantado Félix, respondió: Ahora vete; mas en teniendo oportunidad te llamaré:

And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

As he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, “Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you.”

Er hoffte auch daneben, daß ihm von Paulus Geld gegeben würde, um ihn loszulassen. Weshalb er ihn öfter kommen ließ, und sich mit ihm besprach.

Esperando también con esto, que de parte de Pablo le serían dados dineros, porque le soltase; por lo cual, haciéndole venir muchas veces, hablaba con él.

He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

Meanwhile, he also hoped that money would be given to him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore also he sent for him more often and talked with him.

Da aber zwei Jahre um waren, erhielt Felix den Porcius Festus zum Nachfolger. Da Felix aber den Juden eine Gunst erzeigen wollte, ließ er den Paulus gefangen zurück.

Mas al cabo de dos años recibió Félix por sucesor á Porcio Festo: y queriendo Félix ganar la gracia de los Judíos, dejó preso á Pablo.

But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.
