Arrebatada la nave, y no pudiendo resistir el torbellino, éramos llevados a merced de los vientos.

Y siendo arrebatada la nave, y no pudiendo resistir contra el viento, la dejamos, y éramos llevados.

And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

When the ship was caught and couldn’t face the wind, we gave way to it and were driven along.
