Pero el barco cayó en un banco de arena entre dos corrientes y encalló. La parte delantera se clavó y quedó inmóvil, mientras que la parte trasera empezó a hacerse pedazos por la fuerza de las olas.

Mas dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza de la mar.

And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
