E quando foi determinado que tínhamos que navegar para a Itália, entregaram a Paulo e alguns outros prisioneiros, a um centurião, por nome Júlio, do esquadrão imperial.

MAS como fué determinado que habíamos de navegar para Italia, entregaron á Pablo y á algunos otros presos á un centurión, llamado Julio, de la compañía Augusta.

And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

When it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.

E embarcando -nos em um navio adramitino, estando a navegar pelos lugares costeiros da Ásia, nós partimos, estando conosco Aristarco, o macedônio de Tessalônica.

Así que, embarcándonos en una nave Adrumentina, partimos, estando con nosotros Aristarco, Macedonio de Tesalónica, para navegar junto á los lugares de Asia.

And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

Embarking in a ship of Adramyttium, which was about to sail to places on the coast of Asia, we put to sea, Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica being with us.

E no dia seguinte, chegamos a Sidom; e Júlio, tratando bem a Paulo, permitiu -lhe que fosse aos amigos, para receber cuidado deles .

Y otro día llegamos á Sidón; y Julio, tratando á Pablo con humanidad, permitióle que fuese á los amigos, para ser de ellos asistido.

And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

The next day, we touched at Sidon. Julius treated Paul kindly and gave him permission to go to his friends and refresh himself.

E tendo partido dali, nós fomos navegando abaixo do Chipre, porque os ventos estavam contrários.

Y haciéndonos á la vela desde allí, navegamos bajo de Cipro, porque los vientos eran contrarios.

And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

E tendo passado ao longo do mar da Cilícia e Panfília, viemos a Mira em Lícia.

Y habiendo pasado la mar de Cilicia y Pamphylia, arribamos á Mira, ciudad de Licia.

And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

E o centurião, tendo achado ali um navio de Alexandria, que estava navegando para a Itália, nos fez embarcar nele.

Y hallando allí el centurión una nave Alejandrina que navegaba á Italia, nos puso en ella.

And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

E indo navegando lentamente já por muitos dias, chegando com dificuldade em frente a Cnido, o vento, não nos permitindo continuar por ali ,navegamos abaixo de Creta, em frente a Salmone.

Y navegando muchos días despacio, y habiendo apenas llegado delante de Gnido, no dejándonos el viento, navegamos bajo de Creta, junto á Salmón.

And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

When we had sailed slowly many days, and had come with difficulty opposite Cnidus, the wind not allowing us further, we sailed under the lee of Crete, opposite Salmone.

E tendo com dificuldade percorrido sua costa, chegamos a um certo lugar, chamado Bons Portos, perto do qual estava a cidade de Laseia.

Y costeándola difícilmente, llegamos á un lugar que llaman Buenos Puertos, cerca del cual estaba la ciudad de Lasea.

And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

With difficulty sailing along it we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.

E tendo passado muito tempo, e sendo a navegação já perigosa, porque também já tinha passado o jejum, Paulo os exortava,

Y pasado mucho tiempo, y siendo ya peligrosa la navegación, porque ya era pasado el ayuno, Pablo amonestaba,

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

When much time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous because the Fast had now already gone by, Paul admonished them

Dizendo-lhes: Homens, eu vejo que a navegação vai ser com violência e muito dano, não somente de carga e do navio, mas também de nossas vidas.

Diciéndoles: Varones, veo que con trabajo y mucho daño, no sólo de la cargazón y de la nave, mas aun de nuestras personas, habrá de ser la navegación.

And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

Porém o centurião cria mais no capitão e no dono do navio do que no que Paulo dizia.

Mas el centurión creía más al piloto y al patrón de la nave, que á lo que Pablo decía.

Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

But the centurion gave more heed to the master and to the owner of the ship than to those things which were spoken by Paul.

E não sendo aquele porto adequado para passar o inverno, a maioria preferiu partir dali, para ver se podiam chegar a Fênix, que é um porto de Creta, voltada para o lado do vento sudoeste e noroeste, para ali passarem o inverno.

Y no habiendo puerto cómodo para invernar, muchos acordaron pasar aún de allí, por si pudiesen arribar á Fenice é invernar allí, que es un puerto de Creta que mira al Nordeste y Sudeste.

And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

Because the haven was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised going to sea from there, if by any means they could reach Phoenix and winter there, which is a port of Crete, looking southwest and northwest.

E ao ventar brandamente ao sul, pareceu-lhes que eles já tinham o que queriam; e levantando a vela, foram por perto da costa de Creta.

Y soplando el austro, pareciéndoles que ya tenían lo que deseaban, alzando velas, iban cerca de la costa de Creta.

And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

Mas não muito depois houve contra ela um vento violento, chamado Euroaquilão.

But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

But before long, a stormy wind beat down from shore, which is called Euroclydon.

E tendo o navio sido tomado por ele, e não podendo navegar contra o vento, nós deixamos sermos levados por ele .

Y siendo arrebatada la nave, y no pudiendo resistir contra el viento, la dejamos, y éramos llevados.

And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

When the ship was caught and couldn’t face the wind, we gave way to it and were driven along.

E correndo abaixo de uma pequena ilha, chamada Clauda, com dificuldade conseguimos manter o barquinho de reserva;

Y habiendo corrido á sotavento de una pequeña isla que se llama Clauda, apenas pudimos ganar el esquife:

And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

Running under the lee of a small island called Clauda, we were able, with difficulty, to secure the boat.

O qual, tendo sido levado para cima, usaram de suportes para reforçarem o navio; e temendo irem de encontro aos bancos de areia, eles baixaram as velas e deixaram ir à deriva.

El cual tomado, usaban de remedios, ciñendo la nave; y teniendo temor de que diesen en la Sirte, abajadas las velas, eran así llevados.

Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

After they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis sand bars, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along.

E sendo muito afligidos pela tempestade, no dia seguinte jogaram a carga para fora do navio .

Mas siendo atormentados de una vehemente tempestad, al siguiente día alijaron;

And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

As we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began to throw things overboard.

E no terceiro dia ,com as nossas próprias mãos jogamos fora os instrumentos do navio.

Y al tercer día nosotros con nuestras manos arrojamos los aparejos de la nave.

And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

On the third day, they threw out the ship’s tackle with their own hands.

E não aparecendo ainda o sol, nem estrelas havia muitos dias, e sendo afligidos por não pouca tempestade, desde então tínhamos perdido toda a esperança de sermos salvos.

Y no pareciendo sol ni estrellas por muchos días, y viniendo una tempestad no pequeña, ya era perdida toda la esperanza de nuestra salud.

And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

When neither sun nor stars shone on us for many days, and no small storm pressed on us, all hope that we would be saved was now taken away.

E havendo muito tempo que não havia o que comer, então Paulo, ficando de pé no meio deles, disse: Homens, vós devíeis ter dado atenção a mim, e não terdes partido de Creta, e assim evitar esta situação ruim e prejuízo.

Entonces Pablo, habiendo ya mucho que no comíamos, puesto en pie en medio de ellos, dijo: Fuera de cierto conveniente, oh varones, haberme oído, y no partir de Creta, y evitar este inconveniente y daño.

But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them and said, “Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete and have gotten this injury and loss.

Mas agora eu vos exorto a terdes bom ânimo; porque haverá nenhuma perda de vida de vós, além somente da perda do navio.

Mas ahora os amonesto que tengáis buen ánimo; porque ninguna pérdida habrá de persona de vosotros, sino solamente de la nave.

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Now I exhort you to cheer up, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.

Porque esta mesma noite esteve comigo um anjo de Deus, a quem eu pertenço e a quem eu sirvo;

For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

Dizendo: Não temas, Paulo; é necessário que tu sejas apresentado a César; e eis que Deus tem te dado a vida a todos quantos navegam contigo.

Diciendo: Pablo, no temas; es menester que seas presentado delante de César; y he aquí, Dios te ha dado todos los que navegan contigo.

Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

saying, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. Behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

Portanto, homens, tende bom ânimo; porque eu creio em Deus que assim será, conforme o que me foi dito.

Por tanto, oh varones, tened buen ánimo; porque yo confío en Dios que será así como me ha dicho;

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Therefore, sirs, cheer up! For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me.

Mas é necessário que sejamos lançados a uma ilha.

Si bien es menester que demos en una isla.

Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

But we must run aground on a certain island.”

E quando veio a décima quarta noite, sendo lançados de um lado para o outro no mar Adriático, por volta da meia noite os marinheiros suspeitaram de que estavam se aproximando de alguma terra firme .

Y venida la décimacuarta noche, y siendo llevados por el mar Adriático, los marineros á la media noche sospecharon que estaban cerca de alguna tierra;

But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

But when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven back and forth in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors surmised that they were drawing near to some land.

E tendo lançado o prumo, acharam vinte braças; e passando um pouco mais adiante, voltando a lançar o prumo, acharam quinze braças.

Y echando la sonda, hallaron veinte brazas; y pasando un poco más adelante, volviendo á echar la sonda, hallaron quince brazas.

And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

They took soundings and found twenty fathoms. After a little while, they took soundings again, and found fifteen fathoms.

E temendo de irem de encontro a lugares rochosos, lançaram da popa quatro âncoras, desejando que o dia viesse logo .

Y habiendo temor de dar en lugares escabrosos, echando cuatro anclas de la popa, deseaban que se hiciese de día.

Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

Fearing that we would run aground on rocky ground, they let go four anchors from the stern, and wished for daylight.

E quando os marinheiros estavam procurando fugir do navio, e baixando o barquinho de reserva ao mar, como que queriam largar as âncoras da proa,

Entonces procurando los marineros huir de la nave, echado que hubieron el esquife á la mar, aparentando como que querían largar las anclas de proa,

And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

As the sailors were trying to flee out of the ship and had lowered the boat into the sea, pretending that they would lay out anchors from the bow,

Paulo disse ao centurião e aos soldados: Se estes não ficarem no navio, vós não podeis vos salvar.

Pablo dijo al centurión y á los soldados: Si éstos no quedan en la nave, vosotros no podéis salvaros.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, “Unless these stay in the ship, you can’t be saved.”

Então os soldados cortaram os cabos do barquinho de reserva, e o deixaram cair.

Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

E até enquanto o dia estava vindo, Paulo exortava a todos que comessem alguma coisa, dizendo: Hoje já é o décimo quarto dia, em que estais esperando, continuando sem comer, nada tendo experimentado.

Y como comenzó á ser de día, Pablo exhortaba á todos que comiesen, diciendo: Este es el décimocuarto día que esperáis y permanecéis ayunos, no comiendo nada.

And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

While the day was coming on, Paul begged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you wait and continue fasting, having taken nothing.

Portanto eu vos exorto para que comais alguma coisa, pois é bom para vossa saúde; porque nenhum cabelo cairá de vossa cabeça.

Por tanto, os ruego que comáis por vuestra salud: que ni aun un cabello de la cabeza de ninguno de vosotros perecerá.

Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

Therefore I beg you to take some food, for this is for your safety; for not a hair will perish from any of your heads.”

E tendo dito isto, e tomando o pão, ele agradeceu a Deus na presença de todos; e partindo -o ,começou a comer.

Y habiendo dicho esto, tomando el pan, hizo gracias á Dios en presencia de todos, y partiendo, comenzó á comer.

And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

When he had said this and had taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all; then he broke it and began to eat.

E todos, tendo ficado mais encorajados, também pegaram algo para comer.

Entonces todos teniendo ya mejor ánimo, comieron ellos también.

Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

Then they all cheered up, and they also took food.

E éramos todos no navio duzentas e setenta e seis almas.

Y éramos todas las personas en la nave doscientas setenta y seis.

And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

In all, we were two hundred seventy-six souls on the ship.

E estando saciados de comer, eles tiraram peso do navio, lançando o trigo ao mar.

Y satisfechos de comida, aliviaban la nave, echando el grano á la mar.

And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

E tendo vindo o dia, não reconheciam a terra; mas enxergaram uma enseada que tinha praia, na qual planejaram, se pudessem, levar o navio.

Y como se hizo de día, no conocían la tierra: mas veían un golfo que tenía orilla, al cual acordaron echar, si pudiesen, la nave.

And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

When it was day, they didn’t recognize the land, but they noticed a certain bay with a beach, and they decided to try to drive the ship onto it.

E tendo levantado as âncoras, deixaram -no ir ao mar, soltando também as amarras dos lemes, e levantando a vela maior ao vento, foram de levando -o à praia.

Cortando pues las anclas, las dejaron en la mar, largando también las ataduras de los gobernalles; y alzada la vela mayor al viento, íbanse á la orilla.

And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

Casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time untying the rudder ropes. Hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.

Mas tendo caído em um lugar onde dois mares se encontram, encalharam ali o navio; e fixa a proa, ficou imóvel, mas a popa estava se destruindo com a força das ondas.

Mas dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza de la mar.

And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

But coming to a place where two seas met, they ran the vessel aground. The bow struck and remained immovable, but the stern began to break up by the violence of the waves.

Então o conselho dos soldados foi de que matassem aos presos, para que nenhum deles fugisse a nado.

Entonces el acuerdo de los soldados era que matasen los presos, porque ninguno se fugase nadando.

And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

Mas o centurião, querendo salvar a Paulo, impediu a intenção deles; e mandou que aqueles que pudessem nadar fossem os primeiros a se lançassem ao mar e chegassem à terra firme .

Mas el centurión, queriendo salvar á Pablo, estorbó este acuerdo, y mandó que los que pudiesen nadar, se echasen los primeros, y saliesen á tierra;

But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, stopped them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should throw themselves overboard first to go toward the land;

E depois os demais, uns em tábuas, e outros em pedaços do navio. E assim aconteceu, que todos se salvaram em terra.

Y los demás, parte en tablas, parte en cosas de la nave. Y así aconteció que todos se salvaron saliendo á tierra.

And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

and the rest should follow, some on planks and some on other things from the ship. So they all escaped safely to the land.
