Da nun viel Zeit vergangen war, und nunmehr gefährlich war zu schiffen, darum daß auch das Fasten schon vorüber war, vermahnete sie Paulus

MAS como fué determinado que habíamos de navegar para Italia, entregaron á Pablo y á algunos otros presos á un centurión, llamado Julio, de la compañía Augusta.

And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

When it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.

und sprach zu ihnen: Liebe Männer, ich sehe, daß die Schiffahrt will mit Beleidigung und großem Schaden ergehen, nicht allein der Last und des Schiffes, sondern auch unsers Lebens.

Así que, embarcándonos en una nave Adrumentina, partimos, estando con nosotros Aristarco, Macedonio de Tesalónica, para navegar junto á los lugares de Asia.

And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

Embarking in a ship of Adramyttium, which was about to sail to places on the coast of Asia, we put to sea, Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica being with us.

Aber der Unterhauptmann glaubte dem Schiffsherrn und dem Schiffsmann mehr denn dem, was Paulus sagte.

Y otro día llegamos á Sidón; y Julio, tratando á Pablo con humanidad, permitióle que fuese á los amigos, para ser de ellos asistido.

And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

Und da die Anfurt ungelegen war zu wintern, bestunden ihrer das mehrere Teil auf dem Rat, von dannen zu fahren, ob sie könnten kommen gen Phönix zu wintern, welches ist eine Anfurt an Kreta, gegen den Wind Südwest und Nordwest.

Y haciéndonos á la vela desde allí, navegamos bajo de Cipro, porque los vientos eran contrarios.

And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

Da aber der Südwind wehete, und sie meineten, sie hätten nun ihr Vornehmen, erhuben sie sich gen Assos und fuhren an Kreta hin.

Nicht lange aber danach erhub sich wider ihr Vornehmen, eine Windsbraut, die man nennet Nordost.

And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

Und da das Schiff ergriffen ward und konnte sich nicht wider den Wind richten, gaben wir's dahin und schwebeten also.

And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

Den huben wir auf und brauchten der Hilfe und banden ihn unten an das Schiff; denn wir fürchteten, es möchte in die Syrte fallen, und ließen das Gefäß hinunter und fuhren also.

Y pasado mucho tiempo, y siendo ya peligrosa la navegación, porque ya era pasado el ayuno, Pablo amonestaba,

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

When much time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous because the Fast had now already gone by, Paul admonished them

Und da wir groß Ungewitter erlitten hatten, da taten sie des nächsten Tages einen Auswurf.

Diciéndoles: Varones, veo que con trabajo y mucho daño, no sólo de la cargazón y de la nave, mas aun de nuestras personas, habrá de ser la navegación.

And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

Und am dritten Tage warfen wir mit unsern Händen aus die Bereitschaft im Schiffe.

Mas el centurión creía más al piloto y al patrón de la nave, que á lo que Pablo decía.

Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

Da aber in vielen Tagen weder Sonne noch Gestirn erschien, und nicht ein klein Ungewitter uns wider war, war alle Hoffnung unsers Lebens dahin.

Y no habiendo puerto cómodo para invernar, muchos acordaron pasar aún de allí, por si pudiesen arribar á Fenice é invernar allí, que es un puerto de Creta que mira al Nordeste y Sudeste.

And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

Because the haven was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised going to sea from there, if by any means they could reach Phoenix and winter there, which is a port of Crete, looking southwest and northwest.

Und da man lange nicht gegessen hatte, trat Paulus mitten unter sie und sprach: Liebe Männer, man sollte mir gehorchet und nicht von Kreta aufgebrochen haben und uns dieses Leides und Schadens überhoben haben.

Y soplando el austro, pareciéndoles que ya tenían lo que deseaban, alzando velas, iban cerca de la costa de Creta.

And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

Und nun ermahne ich euch, daß ihr unverzagt seid; denn keines Leben aus uns wird umkommen ohne das Schiff.

Mas no mucho después dió en ella un viento repentino, que se llama Euroclidón.

But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

But before long, a stormy wind beat down from shore, which is called Euroclydon.

Denn diese Nacht ist bei mir gestanden der Engel Gottes, des ich bin, und dem ich diene,

Y siendo arrebatada la nave, y no pudiendo resistir contra el viento, la dejamos, y éramos llevados.

And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

When the ship was caught and couldn’t face the wind, we gave way to it and were driven along.

und sprach: Fürchte dich nicht, Paulus; du mußt vor den Kaiser gestellet werden; und siehe, Gott hat dir geschenkt alle, die mit dir schiffen.

Y habiendo corrido á sotavento de una pequeña isla que se llama Clauda, apenas pudimos ganar el esquife:

And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

Running under the lee of a small island called Clauda, we were able, with difficulty, to secure the boat.

Darum, liebe Männer, seid unverzagt; denn ich glaube Gott, es wird also geschehen, wie mir gesagt ist.

El cual tomado, usaban de remedios, ciñendo la nave; y teniendo temor de que diesen en la Sirte, abajadas las velas, eran así llevados.

Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

After they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis sand bars, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along.

Wir müssen aber anfahren an eine Insel.

Mas siendo atormentados de una vehemente tempestad, al siguiente día alijaron;

And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

As we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began to throw things overboard.

Da aber die vierzehnte Nacht kam, und wir in Adria fuhren um die Mitternacht, wähneten die Schiffsleute, sie kämen etwa an ein Land.

Y al tercer día nosotros con nuestras manos arrojamos los aparejos de la nave.

And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

On the third day, they threw out the ship’s tackle with their own hands.

Und sie senkten den Bleiwurf ein und fanden zwanzig Klafter tief. Und über ein wenig von dannen senkten sie abermal und fanden fünfzehn Klafter.

Y no pareciendo sol ni estrellas por muchos días, y viniendo una tempestad no pequeña, ya era perdida toda la esperanza de nuestra salud.

And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

When neither sun nor stars shone on us for many days, and no small storm pressed on us, all hope that we would be saved was now taken away.

Da fürchteten sie sich, sie würden an harte Orte anstoßen, und warfen hinten vom Schiffe vier Anker und wünschten, daß es Tag würde.

Entonces Pablo, habiendo ya mucho que no comíamos, puesto en pie en medio de ellos, dijo: Fuera de cierto conveniente, oh varones, haberme oído, y no partir de Creta, y evitar este inconveniente y daño.

But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them and said, “Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete and have gotten this injury and loss.

Da aber die Schiffsleute die Flucht suchten aus dem Schiffe und den Kahn niederließen in das Meer und gaben vor, sie wollten die Anker vorne aus dem Schiffe lassen,

Mas ahora os amonesto que tengáis buen ánimo; porque ninguna pérdida habrá de persona de vosotros, sino solamente de la nave.

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Now I exhort you to cheer up, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.

sprach Paulus zu dem Unterhauptmann und zu den Kriegsknechten: Wenn diese nicht im Schiff bleiben, so könnt ihr nicht beim Leben bleiben.

Porque esta noche ha estado conmigo el ángel del Dios del cual yo soy, y al cual sirvo,

For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

For there stood by me this night an angel, belonging to the God whose I am and whom I serve,

Da hieben die Kriegsknechte die Stricke ab von dem Kahn und ließen ihn fallen.

Diciendo: Pablo, no temas; es menester que seas presentado delante de César; y he aquí, Dios te ha dado todos los que navegan contigo.

Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

saying, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. Behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

Und da es anfing licht zu werden, ermahnete sie Paulus alle, daß sie Speise nähmen, und sprach: Es ist heute der vierzehnte Tag, daß ihr wartet und ungegessen geblieben seid und habt nichts zu euch genommen.

Por tanto, oh varones, tened buen ánimo; porque yo confío en Dios que será así como me ha dicho;

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Therefore, sirs, cheer up! For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me.

Darum ermahne ich euch, Speise zu nehmen, euch zu laben; denn es wird euer keinem ein Haar von dem Haupt entfallen.

Si bien es menester que demos en una isla.

Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

But we must run aground on a certain island.”

Und da er das gesagt, nahm er das Brot, dankete Gott vor ihnen allen und brach's und fing an zu essen.

Y venida la décimacuarta noche, y siendo llevados por el mar Adriático, los marineros á la media noche sospecharon que estaban cerca de alguna tierra;

But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

But when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven back and forth in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors surmised that they were drawing near to some land.

Da wurden sie alle gutes Muts und nahmen auch Speise.

Y echando la sonda, hallaron veinte brazas; y pasando un poco más adelante, volviendo á echar la sonda, hallaron quince brazas.

And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

Unser waren aber alle zusammen im Schiff zweihundert und sechsundsiebenzig Seelen.

Y habiendo temor de dar en lugares escabrosos, echando cuatro anclas de la popa, deseaban que se hiciese de día.

Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

Fearing that we would run aground on rocky ground, they let go four anchors from the stern, and wished for daylight.

Und da sie satt wurden, erleichterten sie das Schiff und warfen das Getreide in das Meer.

Entonces procurando los marineros huir de la nave, echado que hubieron el esquife á la mar, aparentando como que querían largar las anclas de proa,

And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

As the sailors were trying to flee out of the ship and had lowered the boat into the sea, pretending that they would lay out anchors from the bow,

Da es aber Tag ward, kannten sie das Land nicht. Einer Anfurt aber wurden sie gewahr, die hatte ein Ufer; dahinan wollten sie das Schiff treiben, wo es möglich wäre.

Pablo dijo al centurión y á los soldados: Si éstos no quedan en la nave, vosotros no podéis salvaros.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, “Unless these stay in the ship, you can’t be saved.”

Und da sie die Anker aufgehoben, ließen sie sich dem Meer und löseten die Ruderbande auf und richteten den Segelbaum nach dem Winde und trachteten nach dem Ufer.

Entonces los soldados cortaron los cabos del esquife, y dejáronlo perder.

Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

Und da wir fuhren an einen Ort, der auf beiden Seiten Meer hatte, stieß sich das Schiff an, und das Vorderteil blieb fest stehen unbeweglich; aber das Hinterteil zerbrach von der Gewalt der Wellen.

Y como comenzó á ser de día, Pablo exhortaba á todos que comiesen, diciendo: Este es el décimocuarto día que esperáis y permanecéis ayunos, no comiendo nada.

And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

While the day was coming on, Paul begged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you wait and continue fasting, having taken nothing.

Die Kriegsknechte aber hatten einen Rat, die Gefangenen zu töten, daß nicht jemand, so herausschwömme, entflöhe.

Por tanto, os ruego que comáis por vuestra salud: que ni aun un cabello de la cabeza de ninguno de vosotros perecerá.

Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

Therefore I beg you to take some food, for this is for your safety; for not a hair will perish from any of your heads.”

Aber der Unterhauptmann wollte Paulus erhalten und wehrete ihrem Vornehmen und hieß, die da schwimmen könnten, sich zuerst in das Meer lassen und entrinnen an das Land,

Y habiendo dicho esto, tomando el pan, hizo gracias á Dios en presencia de todos, y partiendo, comenzó á comer.

And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

When he had said this and had taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all; then he broke it and began to eat.

die andern aber, etliche auf den Brettern, etliche auf dem, was vom Schiffe war. Und also geschah es, daß sie alle erhalten zu Lande kamen.

Entonces todos teniendo ya mejor ánimo, comieron ellos también.

Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

Then they all cheered up, and they also took food.

Und da wir auskamen, erfuhren wir, daß die Insel Melite hieß.

Y éramos todas las personas en la nave doscientas setenta y seis.

And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

In all, we were two hundred seventy-six souls on the ship.

Die Leutlein aber erzeigten uns nicht geringe Freundschaft, zündeten ein Feuer an und nahmen uns alle auf um des Regens, der über uns kommen war, und um der Kälte willen.

Y satisfechos de comida, aliviaban la nave, echando el grano á la mar.

And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

Da aber Paulus einen Haufen Reiser zusammenraffte und legte es aufs Feuer, kam eine Otter von der Hitze und fuhr Paulus an seine Hand.

Y como se hizo de día, no conocían la tierra: mas veían un golfo que tenía orilla, al cual acordaron echar, si pudiesen, la nave.

And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

When it was day, they didn’t recognize the land, but they noticed a certain bay with a beach, and they decided to try to drive the ship onto it.

Da aber die Leutlein sahen das Tier an seiner Hand hangen, sprachen sie untereinander: Dieser Mensch muß ein Mörder sein, welchen die Rache nicht leben läßt, ob er gleich dem Meer entgangen ist.

Cortando pues las anclas, las dejaron en la mar, largando también las ataduras de los gobernalles; y alzada la vela mayor al viento, íbanse á la orilla.

And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

Casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time untying the rudder ropes. Hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.

Er aber schlenkerte das Tier ins Feuer, und ihm widerfuhr nichts Übles.

Mas dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza de la mar.

And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

But coming to a place where two seas met, they ran the vessel aground. The bow struck and remained immovable, but the stern began to break up by the violence of the waves.

Sie aber warteten, wenn er schwellen würde oder tot niederfallen. Da sie aber lange warteten und sahen, daß ihm nichts Ungeheures widerfuhr, verwandten sie sich und sprachen, er wäre ein Gott.

An denselbigen Örtern aber hatte der Oberste in der Insel mit Namen Publius ein Vorwerk; der nahm uns auf und herbergte uns drei Tage freundlich.

Mas el centurión, queriendo salvar á Pablo, estorbó este acuerdo, y mandó que los que pudiesen nadar, se echasen los primeros, y saliesen á tierra;

But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, stopped them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should throw themselves overboard first to go toward the land;

Es geschah aber, daß der Vater des Publius am Fieber und an der Ruhr lag. Zu dem ging Paulus hinein und betete und legte die Hand auf ihn und machte ihn gesund.

Y los demás, parte en tablas, parte en cosas de la nave. Y así aconteció que todos se salvaron saliendo á tierra.

And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

and the rest should follow, some on planks and some on other things from the ship. So they all escaped safely to the land.
