Quando foi decidido que navegaríamos para a Itália, entregaram Paulo e alguns outros prisioneiros a um centurião chamado Júlio, do Regimento Augustino.

MAS como fué determinado que habíamos de navegar para Italia, entregaron á Pablo y á algunos otros presos á un centurión, llamado Julio, de la compañía Augusta.

And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

When it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.

Nós embarcamos em um navio de Adramítio, que estava prestes a navegar junto à costa da Ásia. Então, fomos para o mar; Aristarco que era de Tessalônica, cidade da Macedônia, vinha conosco.

Así que, embarcándonos en una nave Adrumentina, partimos, estando con nosotros Aristarco, Macedonio de Tesalónica, para navegar junto á los lugares de Asia.

And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

Embarking in a ship of Adramyttium, which was about to sail to places on the coast of Asia, we put to sea, Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica being with us.

No dia seguinte, desembarcamos na cidade de Sidom, onde Júlio tratou Paulo de modo gentil e permitiu-lhe ir até seus amigos, a fim de receber cuidados.

Y otro día llegamos á Sidón; y Julio, tratando á Pablo con humanidad, permitióle que fuese á los amigos, para ser de ellos asistido.

And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

Partindo dali, fomos para o mar e navegamos em volta da ilha de Chipre, que nos abrigou do vento, porque esse estava contra nós.

Y haciéndonos á la vela desde allí, navegamos bajo de Cipro, porque los vientos eran contrarios.

And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

Putting to sea from there, we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

A seguir, navegamos através das águas perto da Cilícia e Panfília, e fomos a Mirra, uma cidade da Lícia.

Lá, o centurião encontrou um navio de Alexandria, que ia para a Itália, no qual nos embarcou.

And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

Navegamos vagarosamente por muitos dias, e finalmente chegamos, com dificuldade, próximo a Cnido. Contudo, o vento não nos permitiu seguir o caminho; então, navegamos pelo lado de Creta protegido contra os ventos, oposto a Salmona.

Y navegando muchos días despacio, y habiendo apenas llegado delante de Gnido, no dejándonos el viento, navegamos bajo de Creta, junto á Salmón.

And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

Navegamos pela costa com dificuldade, até que chegamos a um certo lugar chamado Bons Portos, que é perto da cidade de Laseia.

Y costeándola difícilmente, llegamos á un lugar que llaman Buenos Puertos, cerca del cual estaba la ciudad de Lasea.

And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

With difficulty sailing along it we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.

Tínhamos gasto muito tempo, já havia passado o tempo do jejum dos judeus, e também se tornou perigoso navegar. Então, Paulo os alertou,

Y pasado mucho tiempo, y siendo ya peligrosa la navegación, porque ya era pasado el ayuno, Pablo amonestaba,

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

When much time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous because the Fast had now already gone by, Paul admonished them

e disse: "Homens, eu vejo que a viagem que estamos prestes a fazer será danosa e com muita perda, não apenas da mercadoria e do navio, mas também de nossas vidas".

Diciéndoles: Varones, veo que con trabajo y mucho daño, no sólo de la cargazón y de la nave, mas aun de nuestras personas, habrá de ser la navegación.

And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

Porém, o centurião prestou mais atenção ao mestre e ao proprietário do navio, do que às coisas que foram ditas por Paulo.

Mas el centurión creía más al piloto y al patrón de la nave, que á lo que Pablo decía.

Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

But the centurion gave more heed to the master and to the owner of the ship than to those things which were spoken by Paul.

Não sendo o porto propício para se passar o inverno, a maioria dos marinheiros aconselhou que partissem dali, se, por algum meio, conseguíssemos chegar a cidade de Fenice, para ali passar o inverno. Fenice é um porto em Creta, voltado para o nordeste e sudeste.

Y no habiendo puerto cómodo para invernar, muchos acordaron pasar aún de allí, por si pudiesen arribar á Fenice é invernar allí, que es un puerto de Creta que mira al Nordeste y Sudeste.

And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

Because the haven was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised going to sea from there, if by any means they could reach Phoenix and winter there, which is a port of Crete, looking southwest and northwest.

Quando o vento do sul começou a soprar gentilmente, os marinheiros pensaram que tinham o que precisavam; então, eles ergueram a âncora e navegaram próximo a Creta, perto da costa.

Y soplando el austro, pareciéndoles que ya tenían lo que deseaban, alzando velas, iban cerca de la costa de Creta.

And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

Mas, depois de um curto período, um vento forte de tempestade chamado Euroaquilão começou a nos golpear, vindo da ilha.

Mas no mucho después dió en ella un viento repentino, que se llama Euroclidón.

But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

But before long, a stormy wind beat down from shore, which is called Euroclydon.

Quando o navio foi apanhado em cheio, e não podia enfrentar o vento, nós nos deixamos ser levados.

Y siendo arrebatada la nave, y no pudiendo resistir contra el viento, la dejamos, y éramos llevados.

And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

When the ship was caught and couldn’t face the wind, we gave way to it and were driven along.

Passamos por um lado protegido de uma pequena ilha chamada Cauda; e com dificuldade pudemos segurar o bote salva-vidas.

Y habiendo corrido á sotavento de una pequeña isla que se llama Clauda, apenas pudimos ganar el esquife:

And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

Running under the lee of a small island called Clauda, we were able, with difficulty, to secure the boat.

Quando eles levantaram o bote, usaram as suas cordas para amarrá-lo no casco do navio. Eles temiam que pudéssemos ir em direção aos bancos de areia de Sirte; então, abandonaram a âncora, e deixaram-se ser conduzidos.

El cual tomado, usaban de remedios, ciñendo la nave; y teniendo temor de que diesen en la Sirte, abajadas las velas, eran así llevados.

Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

After they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis sand bars, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along.

Nós estávamos muito abatidos por causa da tempestade; então, no dia seguinte, os navegadores começaram a jogar a carga para fora do navio.

Mas siendo atormentados de una vehemente tempestad, al siguiente día alijaron;

And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

As we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began to throw things overboard.

No terceiro dia, os marinheiros também lançaram ao mar com as próprias mãos, o equipamento do navio.

Y al tercer día nosotros con nuestras manos arrojamos los aparejos de la nave.

And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

On the third day, they threw out the ship’s tackle with their own hands.

Depois de o sol e as estrelas não brilharem sobre nós por vários dias, e de ainda ser castigado por grande tempestade, qualquer esperança de que pudéssemos ser salvos foi abandonada.

Y no pareciendo sol ni estrellas por muchos días, y viniendo una tempestad no pequeña, ya era perdida toda la esperanza de nuestra salud.

And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

When neither sun nor stars shone on us for many days, and no small storm pressed on us, all hope that we would be saved was now taken away.

Estando eles há muito tempo sem comer, Paulo se levantou entre os marinheiros e disse: "Homens, devieis ter me ouvido, e não partir de Creta a fim de evitar este dano e perda.

Entonces Pablo, habiendo ya mucho que no comíamos, puesto en pie en medio de ellos, dijo: Fuera de cierto conveniente, oh varones, haberme oído, y no partir de Creta, y evitar este inconveniente y daño.

But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them and said, “Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete and have gotten this injury and loss.

E agora, eu vos incentivo a tomarem coragem, porque não haverá nenhuma perda de vidas entre vós, mas apenas a perda do navio.

Mas ahora os amonesto que tengáis buen ánimo; porque ninguna pérdida habrá de persona de vosotros, sino solamente de la nave.

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Now I exhort you to cheer up, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.

Porque na noite passada, um anjo de Deus, a quem eu pertenço, e também adoro, se colocou ao meu lado

For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

e disse: 'Não temas, Paulo. Tu deves te encontrar com César, e Deus te concede a vida de todos os que estão viajando contigo'.

Diciendo: Pablo, no temas; es menester que seas presentado delante de César; y he aquí, Dios te ha dado todos los que navegan contigo.

Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

saying, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. Behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

Portanto, homens, tomem coragem! Porque confio em Deus que acontecerá assim como Ele me falou.

Por tanto, oh varones, tened buen ánimo; porque yo confío en Dios que será así como me ha dicho;

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Therefore, sirs, cheer up! For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me.

Mas nós devemos naufragar em alguma ilha".

Si bien es menester que demos en una isla.

Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

But we must run aground on a certain island.”

Quando a décima quarta noite veio, enquanto estávamos sendo levados por este caminho, que era o mar Adriático, por volta da meia noite, os navegadores pensaram que estavam se aproximando de alguma terra.

Y venida la décimacuarta noche, y siendo llevados por el mar Adriático, los marineros á la media noche sospecharon que estaban cerca de alguna tierra;

But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

But when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven back and forth in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors surmised that they were drawing near to some land.

Eles fizeram sondagens e encontraram vinte braças; depois de um breve momento, fizeram mais sondagens e encontraram quinze braças.

Y echando la sonda, hallaron veinte brazas; y pasando un poco más adelante, volviendo á echar la sonda, hallaron quince brazas.

And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

They took soundings and found twenty fathoms. After a little while, they took soundings again, and found fifteen fathoms.

Estavam com medo de bater nas rochas; então, baixaram quatro âncoras da popa, e oraram para que a manhã viesse logo.

Y habiendo temor de dar en lugares escabrosos, echando cuatro anclas de la popa, deseaban que se hiciese de día.

Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

Fearing that we would run aground on rocky ground, they let go four anchors from the stern, and wished for daylight.

Os marinheiros procuravam uma maneira de abandonar o navio, e abaixaram o bote ao mar, sob pretexto de lançar as âncoras da proa.

Entonces procurando los marineros huir de la nave, echado que hubieron el esquife á la mar, aparentando como que querían largar las anclas de proa,

And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

As the sailors were trying to flee out of the ship and had lowered the boat into the sea, pretending that they would lay out anchors from the bow,

Mas, Paulo disse ao centurião e aos soldados: "A menos que estes homens continuem no navio, não podereis salvar-vos".

Pablo dijo al centurión y á los soldados: Si éstos no quedan en la nave, vosotros no podéis salvaros.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, “Unless these stay in the ship, you can’t be saved.”

Então os soldados cortaram as cordas do bote e deixaram-no ir embora.

Quando amanheceu, Paulo alertou a todos para que comessem. Ele disse: "Este é o décimo quarto dia que vós esperais, e não comestes nada.

Y como comenzó á ser de día, Pablo exhortaba á todos que comiesen, diciendo: Este es el décimocuarto día que esperáis y permanecéis ayunos, no comiendo nada.

And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

While the day was coming on, Paul begged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you wait and continue fasting, having taken nothing.

Então eu vos peço que comais, porque isto é para que sobrevivais; e nenhum cabelo de vossa cabeça será perdido".

Por tanto, os ruego que comáis por vuestra salud: que ni aun un cabello de la cabeza de ninguno de vosotros perecerá.

Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

Therefore I beg you to take some food, for this is for your safety; for not a hair will perish from any of your heads.”

Quando ele disse isso, tomou o pão e agradeceu a Deus à vista de todos eles; então, partiu-o e começou a comer.

Y habiendo dicho esto, tomando el pan, hizo gracias á Dios en presencia de todos, y partiendo, comenzó á comer.

And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

When he had said this and had taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all; then he broke it and began to eat.

Assim, eles foram todos encorajados e também comeram.

Entonces todos teniendo ya mejor ánimo, comieron ellos también.

Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

Then they all cheered up, and they also took food.

Nós éramos duzentas e setenta e seis pessoas no navio.

Y éramos todas las personas en la nave doscientas setenta y seis.

And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

In all, we were two hundred seventy-six souls on the ship.

Quando eles comeram o suficiente, fizeram com que o navio ficasse mais leve jogando o trigo ao mar.

Y satisfechos de comida, aliviaban la nave, echando el grano á la mar.

And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

Quando amanheceu, eles não reconheceram a terra, mas viram uma baía com uma praia, e discutiram se levariam o navio até lá.

Y como se hizo de día, no conocían la tierra: mas veían un golfo que tenía orilla, al cual acordaron echar, si pudiesen, la nave.

And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

Então, cortaram as âncoras e as deixaram no mar. Na mesma hora, desataram as cordas dos lemes e levantaram a vela principal ao vento; e, então, se dirigiram para a praia.

Cortando pues las anclas, las dejaron en la mar, largando también las ataduras de los gobernalles; y alzada la vela mayor al viento, íbanse á la orilla.

And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

Casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time untying the rudder ropes. Hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.

Mas eles foram para um lugar onde duas correntes se encontravam, e o navio foi em direção à praia. A proa do navio encalhou ali e permaneceu imóvel, mas a popa começou a quebrar por causa da violência das ondas.

Mas dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza de la mar.

And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

But coming to a place where two seas met, they ran the vessel aground. The bow struck and remained immovable, but the stern began to break up by the violence of the waves.

O plano dos soldados era matar os prisioneiros para que nenhum deles pudesse nadar e fugir.

Entonces el acuerdo de los soldados era que matasen los presos, porque ninguno se fugase nadando.

And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

Mas o centurião quis salvar Paulo, então ele impediu o plano deles; e ordenou àqueles que podiam nadar que pulassem do navio primeiro e chegassem a terra.

Mas el centurión, queriendo salvar á Pablo, estorbó este acuerdo, y mandó que los que pudiesen nadar, se echasen los primeros, y saliesen á tierra;

But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, stopped them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should throw themselves overboard first to go toward the land;

Então, o resto dos homens deveria segui-los, alguns em tábuas, e outros em algumas coisas do navio. Desta forma, todos nós chegamos seguros a terra.

Y los demás, parte en tablas, parte en cosas de la nave. Y así aconteció que todos se salvaron saliendo á tierra.

And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

and the rest should follow, some on planks and some on other things from the ship. So they all escaped safely to the land.
