Porque luego encendida una hoguera nos protegieron a todos contra la lluvia que descargaba, y el frío.

Cuando los bárbaros vieron la víbora colgando de su mano, se decían unos a otros: Este hombre sin duda es algún homicida, pues que, habiéndose salvado de la mar, la venganza divina no quiere que viva.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

El, sacudiendo la víbora en el fuego, no padeció daño alguno.

En aquellas cercanías tenía unas posesiones el príncipe de la isla, llamado Publio, el cual, acogiéndonos benignamente, nos hospedó por tres días con mucha humanidad.
En aquellos lugares había heredades del principal de la isla, llamado Publio, el cual nos recibió y hospedó tres días humanamente.
In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

Y sucedió que, hallándose el padre de Publio muy acosado de fiebres y disentería, entró Pablo a verle, y haciendo oración, e imponiendo sobre él las manos, le curó.

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
The father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Paul entered in to him, prayed, and laying his hands on him, healed him.
Después de este suceso todos los que tenían enfermedades en aquella isla acudían a él, y eran curados;
Y esto hecho, también los otros que en la isla tenían enfermedades, llegaban, y eran sanados:
So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:
Then when this was done, the rest also who had diseases in the island came and were cured.
por cuyo motivo nos hicieron muchas honras, y cuando nos embarcamos nos proveyeron de todo lo necesario.
Los cuales también nos honraron con muchos obsequios; y cuando partimos, nos cargaron de las cosas necesarias.
Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

donde habiendo encontrado hermanos en Cristo , nos instaron a que nos detuviésemos con ellos siete días, después de los cuales nos dirigimos a Roma.

Sabiendo nuestra venida los hermanos de esta ciudad, salieron a recibirnos hasta el pueblo llamado Foro Apio, y otros a Tres Tabernas. A los cuales habiendo visto Pablo, dio gracias a Dios, y cobró gran ánimo.
De donde, oyendo de nosotros los hermanos, nos salieron á recibir hasta la plaza de Appio, y Las Tres Tabernas: á los cuales como Pablo vió, dió gracias á Dios, y tomó aliento.
And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

Llegados a Roma, se le permitió a Pablo el estar de por sí en una casa con un soldado de guardia.
Y como llegamos á Roma, el centurión entregó los presos al prefecto de los ejércitos, mas á Pablo fué permitido estar por sí, con un soldado que le guardase.
And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

Pasados tres días pidió a los principales de entre los judíos que fuesen a verle. Luego que se juntaron, les dijo: Yo hermanos míos, sin haber hecho nada contra el pueblo, ni contra las tradiciones de nuestros padres, fui preso en Jerusalén y entregado en manos de los romanos,
Y aconteció que tres días después, Pablo convocó á los principales de los Judíos; á los cuales, luego que estuvieron juntos, les dijo: Yo, varones hermanos, no habiendo hecho nada contra el pueblo, ni contra los ritos de la patria, he sido entregado preso desde Jerusalem en manos de los Romanos;
And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
After three days Paul called together those who were the leaders of the Jews. When they had come together, he said to them, “I, brothers, though I had done nothing against the people or the customs of our fathers, still was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,
los cuales después que me hicieron los interrogatorios, quisieron ponerme en libertad, visto que no hallaban en mí causa de muerte.

A lo que respondieron ellos: Nosotros ni hemos recibido cartas de Judea acerca de ti, ni hermano alguno venido de allá ha contado o dicho mal de ti.
Entonces ellos le dijeron: Nosotros ni hemos recibido cartas tocante á ti de Judea, ni ha venido alguno de los hermanos que haya denunciado ó hablado algún mal de ti.
And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judæa concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
They said to him, “We neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor did any of the brothers come here and report or speak any evil of you.
Mas deseamos saber cuáles son tus sentimientos; porque tenemos noticia que esa tu secta halla contradicción en todas partes.
Mas querríamos oir de ti lo que sientes; porque de esta secta notorio nos es que en todos lugares es contradicha.
But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
But we desire to hear from you what you think. For, as concerning this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.”
Y habiéndole señalado día para oírle, vinieron en gran número a su alojamiento, a los cuales predicaba el reino de Dios desde la mañana hasta la noche, confirmando con autoridades las proposiciones que sentaba, y probándoles lo perteneciente a Jesús con la ley de Moisés y con los profetas.
Y habiéndole señalado un día, vinieron á él muchos á la posada, á los cuales declaraba y testificaba el reino de Dios, persuadiéndoles lo concerniente á Jesús, por la ley de Moisés y por los profetas, desde la mañana hasta la tarde.
And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

Unos creían las cosas que decía, otros no las creían.

Y no estando acordes entre sí, se iban saliendo, sobre lo cual decía Pablo: ¡Oh, con cuánta razón habló el Espíritu Santo a nuestros padres por el profeta Isaías,
Y como fueron entre sí discordes, se fueron, diciendo Pablo esta palabra: Bien ha hablado el Espíritu Santo por el profeta Isaías á nuestros padres,
And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
When they didn’t agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had spoken one message: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,
diciendo: Ve a ese pueblo, y diles: Oiréis con vuestros oídos, y no entenderéis; y por más que viereis con vuestros ojos, no miraréis!
Diciendo: Ve á este pueblo, y diles: De oído oiréis, y no entenderéis; y viendo veréis, y no percibiréis:
Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
saying, ‘Go to this people and say, in hearing, you will hear, but will in no way understand. In seeing, you will see, but will in no way perceive.
Porque embotando este pueblo su corazón, ha tapado sus oídos, y apretado las pestañas de sus ojos, de miedo que con ellos vean y oigan con sus oídos, y entiendan con el corazón, y así se conviertan, y yo les dé la salud.
Porque el corazón de este pueblo se ha engrosado, y de los oídos oyeron pesadamente, y sus ojos taparon; porque no vean con los ojos, y oigan con los oídos, y entiendan de corazón, y se conviertan, y yo los sane.
For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
For this people’s heart has grown callous. Their ears are dull of hearing. Their eyes they have closed. Lest they should see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again, then I would heal them.’
Por tanto tened entendido todos vosotros, que a los gentiles es enviada esta salud de Dios, y ellos la recibirán.
Séaos pues notorio que á los Gentiles es enviada esta salud de Dios: y ellos oirán.
Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
“Be it known therefore to you that the salvation of God is sent to the nations, and they will listen.”
Dicho esto, se apartaron de él los judíos, teniendo grandes debates entre sí.
Y habiendo dicho esto, los Judíos salieron, teniendo entre sí gran contienda.
And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

Y Pablo permaneció por espacio de dos años enteros en la casa que había alquilado, en donde recibía a cuantos iban a verle,
Pablo empero, quedó dos años enteros en su casa de alquiler, y recibía á todos los que á él venían,
And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house and received all who were coming to him,
predicando el reino de Dios, y enseñando con toda libertad, sin que nadie se lo prohibiese, lo tocante a Nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
