«¿Qué significará esto?», se preguntaban algunos, atónitos y perplejos.
Y estaban todos atónitos y perplejos, diciendo los unos á los otros: ¿Qué quiere ser esto?
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

«¡Es que están borrachos!», les respondían otros, en son de burla.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
Sí, el Espíritu vendrá sobre mis siervos y siervas, y ellos profetizarán.

Pero todo aquel que invoque el nombre del Señor será salvo”.

»¡Escúchenme, varones israelitas! Como ustedes bien saben, Dios respaldó a Jesús de Nazaret con los milagros prodigiosos que realizó a través de él.
Varones Israelitas, oid estas palabras: Jesús Nazareno, varón aprobado de Dios entre vosotros en maravillas y prodigios y señales, que Dios hizo por él en medio de vosotros, como también vosotros sabéis;
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Pero, de acuerdo con el plan que Dios ya tenía trazado, permitió primero que ustedes lo clavaran en la cruz y lo asesinaran por medio de hombres malvados.
A éste, entregado por determinado consejo y providencia de Dios, prendisteis y matasteis por manos de los inicuos, crucificándole;
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Pero Dios lo soltó de los horrores de la muerte y le devolvió la vida, porque la muerte no podía mantenerlo bajo su dominio por siempre.

porque no dejarás mi alma en el sepulcro ni permitirás que el cuerpo de tu santo siervo se pudra.
Que no dejarás mi alma en el infierno, ni darás á tu Santo que vea corrupción.
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
Al contrario, me mostrarás el camino de la vida y me llenarás de gozo en tu presencia”.
Hicísteme notorios los caminos de la vida; me henchirás de gozo con tu presencia.
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

»Hermanos, les puedo decir francamente que el patriarca David murió, lo enterraron y su tumba está todavía entre nosotros.
Varones hermanos, se os puede libremente decir del patriarca David, que murió, y fué sepultado, y su sepulcro está con nosotros hasta del día de hoy.
Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
“Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
Pero, como profeta, sabía que Dios le había prometido bajo juramento que un descendiente suyo se sentaría en el trono que ocupaba.
Empero siendo profeta, y sabiendo que con juramento le había Dios jurado que del fruto de su lomo, cuanto á la carne, levantaría al Cristo que se sentaría sobre su trono;

Mirando pues al futuro, predijo la resurrección del Mesías, y dijo que no quedaría en el sepulcro y su cuerpo no se corrompería.
Viéndolo antes, habló de la resurrección de Cristo, que su alma no fué dejada en el infierno, ni su carne vió corrupción.
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

»Por lo tanto, pueblo de Israel, sepan bien que Dios ha hecho Señor y Mesías a Jesús, el que ustedes crucificaron».
Sepa pues ciertísimamente toda la casa de Israel, que á éste Jesús que vosotros crucificasteis, Dios ha hecho Señor y Cristo.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
“Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Aquellas palabras de Pedro los conmovieron tan profundamente que le dijeron al propio Pedro y a los demás apóstoles: ―Hermanos, ¿qué debemos hacer?
Entonces oído esto, fueron compungidos de corazón, y dijeron á Pedro y á los otros apóstoles: Varones hermanos, ¿qué haremos?
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

―Arrepiéntanse —les respondió Pedro—, y bautícense en el nombre de Jesucristo, para que Dios les perdone sus pecados. Entonces recibirán también el don del Espíritu Santo,
Y Pedro les dice: Arrepentíos, y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de los pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

porque para ustedes es la promesa, y para sus hijos, y aun para los que están lejos, pues es para todos a los que el Señor nuestro Dios llame.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Y con muchas palabras más, Pedro les exhortaba y les decía: ―¡Aléjense de esta gente perversa!
Y con otras muchas palabras testificaba y exhortaba, diciendo: Sed salvos de esta perversa generación.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Los que creyeron sus palabras, unos tres mil en total, se bautizaron y se unieron a los demás creyentes

Un profundo temor reverencial vino sobre toda la gente y los apóstoles seguían realizando milagros y señales.

y alababan a Dios. Todo el mundo simpatizaba con ellos y todos los días el Señor añadía a la comunidad a los que habían de ser salvos.
Alabando á Dios, y teniendo gracia con todo el pueblo. Y el Señor añadía cada día á la iglesia los que habían de ser salvos.
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
