Havia chegado o Dia de Pentecoste. Quando os crentes se reuniram todos no mesmo lugar, naquele dia,

Y COMO se cumplieron los días de Pentecostés, estaban todos unánimes juntos;

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

de repente veio do céu um som, semelhante ao rugido de um poderoso vendaval, que encheu toda a casa onde estavam assentados.

Y de repente vino un estruendo del cielo como de un viento recio que corría, el cual hinchió toda la casa donde estaban sentados;

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Então, viu-se algo parecido com línguas de fogo, que pousaram sobre a cabeça de cada um deles.

Y se les aparecieron lenguas repartidas, como de fuego, que se asentó sobre cada uno de ellos.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.

Todos os presentes ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo e começaram a falar em línguas que não conheciam, conforme o Espírito Santo os capacitava.

Y fueron todos llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron á hablar en otras lenguas, como el Espíritu les daba que hablasen.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Muitos judeus piedosos tinham vindo de todas as nações do mundo para Jerusalém.

Moraban entonces en Jerusalem Judíos, varones religiosos, de todas las naciones debajo del cielo.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.

E quando se ouviu aquele som, multidões vieram correndo para ver do que se tratava, e ficaram espantadas ao ouvir que seus próprios idiomas estavam sendo falados.

Y hecho este estruendo, juntóse la multitud; y estaban confusos, porque cada uno les oía hablar su propia lengua.

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

“Como pode ser isto?”, exclamavam maravilhados. “Estes homens são da Galileia.

Y estaban atónitos y maravillados, diciendo: He aquí ¿no son Galileos todos estos que hablan?

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilæans?

Como então ouvimos todos eles falando as línguas das terras onde nascemos?

¿Cómo, pues, les oímos nosotros hablar cada uno en nuestra lengua en que somos nacidos?

Aqui estão homens partos, medos, elamitas, habitantes da Mesopotâmia, da Judeia, da Capadócia, do Ponto e da província da Ásia,

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judæa, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

da Frígia, da Panfília, do Egito, das regiões da Líbia ao redor de Cirene, visitantes de Roma,

En Phrygia y Pamphylia, en Egipto y en las partes de Africa que está de la otra parte de Cirene, y Romanos extranjeros, tanto Judíos como convertidos,

Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

tanto judeus como convertidos ao judaísmo, cretenses e árabes. E todos nós ouvimos estes homens falando em nossas próprias línguas a respeito das maravilhas de Deus!”

Cretenses y Arabes, les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas las maravillas de Dios.

Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”

E ali estavam eles, maravilhados e confusos. “Que quer dizer isto?”, perguntavam uns aos outros.

Y estaban todos atónitos y perplejos, diciendo los unos á los otros: ¿Qué quiere ser esto?

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

They were all amazed and were perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

Porém outros da multidão zombavam deles. “Eles estão bêbados, isso sim!”, diziam.

Mas otros burlándose, decían: Que están llenos de mosto.

Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Nisso, Pedro deu um passo à frente com os onze apóstolos e dirigiu-se à multidão em alta voz: “Ouçam, todos vocês, homens da Judeia, e todos os visitantes e moradores de Jerusalém! Prestem muita atenção:

Entonces Pedro, poniéndose en pie con los once, alzó su voz, y hablóles diciendo: Varones Judíos, y todos los que habitáis en Jerusalem, esto os sea notorio, y oid mis palabras.

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Alguns de vocês estão dizendo que estes homens estão bêbados! Não é verdade! Estes homens não estão bêbados. É muito cedo para isto! Ninguém fica embriagado às nove horas da manhã!

Porque éstos no están borrachos, como vosotros pensáis, siendo la hora tercia del día;

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.

Pelo contrário! O que vocês estão vendo foi profetizado há séculos pelo profeta Joel:

Mas esto es lo que fué dicho por el profeta Joel:

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:

‘E, depois disso, eu derramarei o meu Espírito sobre todos os povos! Seus filhos e filhas profetizarão. Os velhos terão sonhos e os jovens terão visões.

Y será en los postreros días, dice Dios, derramaré de mi Espíritu sobre toda carne, y vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas profetizarán; y vuestros mancebos verán visiones, y vuestros viejos soñarán sueños:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.

Naqueles dias derramarei o meu Espírito até sobre os meus servos e minhas servas, e eles profetizarão,

Y de cierto sobre mis siervos y sobre mis siervas en aquellos días derramaré de mi Espíritu, y profetizarán.

And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.

e farei coisas espantosas na terra e no céu: sangue, fogo e colunas de fumaça.

Y daré prodigios arriba en el cielo, y señales abajo en la tierra, sangre y fuego y vapor de humo:

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.

O sol vai se tornar em trevas e a lua em sangue, antes de chegar o grande e terrível dia do Senhor.

El sol se volverá en tinieblas, y la luna en sangre, antes que venga el día del Señor, grande y manifiesto;

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

Todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo!’

Y será que todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

“Homens de Israel, ouçam estas palavras: Deus apoiou publicamente Jesus de Nazaré diante de vocês ao fazer milagres, maravilhas e sinais por meio dele, como vocês bem sabem.

Varones Israelitas, oid estas palabras: Jesús Nazareno, varón aprobado de Dios entre vosotros en maravillas y prodigios y señales, que Dios hizo por él en medio de vosotros, como también vosotros sabéis;

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

“Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know,

Porém, seguindo um plano já estabelecido por Deus, vocês, com a ajuda de homens maus, mataram Jesus, pregando-o na cruz.

A éste, entregado por determinado consejo y providencia de Dios, prendisteis y matasteis por manos de los inicuos, crucificándole;

Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;

Então Deus ressuscitou o seu Filho, livrando-o do poder da morte, sendo impossível a morte dominá-lo.

Al cual Dios levantó, sueltos los dolores de la muerte, por cuanto era imposible ser detenido de ella.

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

O rei Davi disse o seguinte a respeito de Jesus: ‘Fiz do Senhor a minha companhia constante. Enquanto ele estiver do meu lado, não tropeçarei.

Porque David dice de él: Veía al Señor siempre delante de mí: porque está á mi diestra, no seré conmovido.

For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

Por isso a minha alma se alegra e a minha língua exulta, e o meu corpo repousará tranquilo.

Por lo cual mi corazón se alegró, y gozóse mi lengua; y aun mi carne descansará en esperanza;

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope,

O Senhor não deixará o meu corpo abandonado no sepulcro; nem permitirá que o seu santo sofra decomposição.

Que no dejarás mi alma en el infierno, ni darás á tu Santo que vea corrupción.

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.

O Senhor restituirá a minha vida, e me dará a maravilhosa alegria na sua presença’.

Hicísteme notorios los caminos de la vida; me henchirás de gozo con tu presencia.

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

“Queridos irmãos, meditem nisto! Davi não estava se referindo a si mesmo quando falou estas palavras que eu citei, pois ele morreu e foi sepultado, e o seu túmulo ainda está aqui entre nós!

Varones hermanos, se os puede libremente decir del patriarca David, que murió, y fué sepultado, y su sepulcro está con nosotros hasta del día de hoy.

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

“Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

Porém ele era profeta e sabia que Deus havia prometido com juramento infalível que um dos seus descendentes se sentaria no seu trono.

Empero siendo profeta, y sabiendo que con juramento le había Dios jurado que del fruto de su lomo, cuanto á la carne, levantaría al Cristo que se sentaría sobre su trono;

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

Davi estava olhando para o futuro distante e predizendo a ressurreição do Cristo, que não foi abandonado no sepulcro e cujo corpo não entrou em decomposição.

Viéndolo antes, habló de la resurrección de Cristo, que su alma no fué dejada en el infierno, ni su carne vió corrupción.

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

he foreseeing this, spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn’t left in Hades, and his flesh didn’t see decay.

Davi estava falando de Jesus, e todos nós somos testemunhas de que Deus ressuscitou este Jesus dentre os mortos.

A este Jesús resucitó Dios, de lo cual todos nosotros somos testigos.

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.

E agora Jesus está sentado no trono da mais alta honra no céu, à direita de Deus. E tal como prometeu, o Pai enviou o Espírito Santo e derramou o que vocês estão vendo e ouvindo hoje.

Así que, levantado por la diestra de Dios, y recibiendo del Padre la promesa del Espíritu Santo, ha derramado esto que vosotros veis y oís.

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you now see and hear.

Não, Davi não estava falando de si mesmo nestas palavras dele que eu citei, pois ele nunca subiu aos céus. Além disso, ele declarou: ‘O Senhor falou ao meu Senhor: Sente-se aqui à minha direita

Porque David no subió á los cielos; empero él dice: Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra,

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

For David didn’t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by my right hand

até que eu ponha os seus inimigos debaixo dos seus pés’.

Hasta que ponga á tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.

Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’

“Portanto, eu garanto a todos em Israel que este Jesus, que vocês crucificaram, Deus o fez Senhor e Cristo!”

Sepa pues ciertísimamente toda la casa de Israel, que á éste Jesús que vosotros crucificasteis, Dios ha hecho Señor y Cristo.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

“Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Estas palavras de Pedro comoveram a todos profundamente, e disseram a Pedro e aos outros apóstolos: “Irmãos, que devemos fazer?”

Entonces oído esto, fueron compungidos de corazón, y dijeron á Pedro y á los otros apóstoles: Varones hermanos, ¿qué haremos?

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Pedro respondeu: “Cada um de vocês deve abandonar o pecado, voltar-se para Deus e ser batizado no nome de Jesus Cristo para o perdão dos seus pecados. Então vocês também receberão o dom do Espírito Santo.

Y Pedro les dice: Arrepentíos, y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de los pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Porque Cristo prometeu esse dom para cada um de vocês que tenha sido chamado pelo Senhor, o nosso Deus, para os filhos de vocês e até para os que estão longe!”

Porque para vosotros es la promesa, y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que están lejos; para cuantos el Señor nuestro Dios llamare.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”

Então Pedro, com muitas palavras, procurando convencer todos os seus ouvintes, continuou: “Salvem-se desta geração perversa!”

Y con otras muchas palabras testificaba y exhortaba, diciendo: Sed salvos de esta perversa generación.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”

E aqueles que acreditaram na mensagem de Pedro foram batizados, e naquele dia se uniram aos seguidores de Jesus cerca de 3.000 pessoas!

Así que, los que recibieron su palabra, fueron bautizados: y fueron añadidas á ellos aquel día como tres mil personas.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

E todos continuavam firmes no ensino dos apóstolos, na comunhão, no partir do pão e nas orações.

Y perseveraban en la doctrina de los apóstoles, y en la comunión, y en el partimiento del pan, y en las oraciones.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Em todos eles havia um profundo respeito, e os apóstolos faziam muitas maravilhas e sinais.

Y toda persona tenía temor: y muchas maravillas y señales eran hechas por los apóstoles.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Todos os que criam estavam juntos e unidos e tinham tudo em comum.

Y todos los que creían estaban juntos; y tenían todas las cosas comunes;

And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

Vendendo suas propriedades e bens, repartiam com os que tinham necessidade.

Y vendían las posesiones, y las haciendas, y repartíanlas á todos, como cada uno había menester.

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Todos os dias eles adoravam juntos no templo, reuniam-se nas casas para o partir do pão e participavam das suas refeições com grande alegria e gratidão,

Y perseverando unánimes cada día en el templo, y partiendo el pan en las casas, comían juntos con alegría y con sencillez de corazón,

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

louvando a Deus. Todo o povo tinha simpatia por eles, e cada dia o Senhor acrescentava à igreja todos os que estavam sendo salvos.

Alabando á Dios, y teniendo gracia con todo el pueblo. Y el Señor añadía cada día á la iglesia los que habían de ser salvos.

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
