Estando, pues, todos llenos de admiración, y no sabiendo qué discurrir, se decían unos a otros: ¿Qué novedad es ésta?

Entonces, todos los que hayan invocado el nombre del Señor, serán salvos.

¡Oh hijos de Israel!, escuchadme ahora: A Jesús de Nazaret, hombre autorizado por Dios a vuestros ojos, con los milagros, maravillas y prodigios que por medio de él ha hecho entre vosotros, como todos sabéis,
Varones Israelitas, oid estas palabras: Jesús Nazareno, varón aprobado de Dios entre vosotros en maravillas y prodigios y señales, que Dios hizo por él en medio de vosotros, como también vosotros sabéis;
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

a este Jesús , dejado a vuestro arbitrio por una orden expresa de la voluntad de Dios y decreto de su presciencia, vosotros le habéis hecho morir, clavándole en la cruz por mano de los impíos.
A éste, entregado por determinado consejo y providencia de Dios, prendisteis y matasteis por manos de los inicuos, crucificándole;
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Pero Dios le ha resucitado, librándole de los dolores o ataduras de la muerte, siendo como era imposible quedar él preso o detenido por ella en tal lugar.

Por tanto se llenó de alegría mi corazón, y resonó mi lengua en voces de júbilo, y mi carne reposará en la esperanza:

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

que no dejarás mi alma en el sepulcro, ni permitirás que el cuerpo de tu Santo experimente la corrupción.
Que no dejarás mi alma en el infierno, ni darás á tu Santo que vea corrupción.
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
Me harás entrar otra vez en las sendas de la vida, y colmarme has de gozo con tu presencia.
Hicísteme notorios los caminos de la vida; me henchirás de gozo con tu presencia.
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
Hermanos míos, permitidme que os diga con toda libertad, y sin el menor recelo: el patriarca David muerto está, y fue sepultado, y su sepulcro se conserva entre nosotros hasta el día de hoy;
Varones hermanos, se os puede libremente decir del patriarca David, que murió, y fué sepultado, y su sepulcro está con nosotros hasta del día de hoy.
Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
“Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
pero como era profeta, y sabía que Dios le había prometido con juramento que uno de su descendencia se había de sentar sobre su trono,
Empero siendo profeta, y sabiendo que con juramento le había Dios jurado que del fruto de su lomo, cuanto á la carne, levantaría al Cristo que se sentaría sobre su trono;
Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

previendo la resurrección de Cristo , dijo, que ni fue detenido en el sepulcro, ni su carne padeció corrupción.

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Este Jesús es a quien Dios ha resucitado de lo que todos nosotros somos testigos.

Elevado, pues, al cielo, sentado allí a la diestra de Dios, y habiendo recibido de su Padre la promesa o potestad de enviar al Espíritu Santo, le ha derramado hoy sobre nosotros del modo que estáis viendo y oyendo.
Así que, levantado por la diestra de Dios, y recibiendo del Padre la promesa del Espíritu Santo, ha derramado esto que vosotros veis y oís.

Persuádase, pues, toda la casa de Israel, que Dios ha constituido Señor, y Cristo , a este mismo Jesús , al cual vosotros habéis crucificado.
Sepa pues ciertísimamente toda la casa de Israel, que á éste Jesús que vosotros crucificasteis, Dios ha hecho Señor y Cristo.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
“Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Oído este discurso, se compungieron de corazón, y dijeron a Pedro y a los demás apóstoles: Pues, hermanos, ¿qué es lo que debemos hacer?
Entonces oído esto, fueron compungidos de corazón, y dijeron á Pedro y á los otros apóstoles: Varones hermanos, ¿qué haremos?
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
A lo que Pedro les respondió: Haced penitencia, y sea bautizado cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para remisión de vuestros pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo;
Y Pedro les dice: Arrepentíos, y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de los pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

porque la promesa de este don es para vosotros, y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que ahora están lejos de la salud, para cuantos llamare a sí el Señor Dios nuestro.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Otras muchísimas razones alegó, y los amonestaba, diciendo: Poneos en salvo de entre esta generación perversa.
Y con otras muchas palabras testificaba y exhortaba, diciendo: Sed salvos de esta perversa generación.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Aquellos, pues, que recibieron su doctrina, fueron bautizados; y se añadieron aquel día a la Iglesia cerca de tres mil personas.

alabando a Dios, y haciéndose amar de todo el pueblo. Y el Señor aumentaba cada día el número de los que abrazaban el mismo género de vida para salvarse.
