36Perciocchè, avanti questo tempo sorse Teuda, dicendosi esser qualche gran cosa, presso al quale si accolsero intorno a quattrocento uomini; ed egli fu ucciso, e tutti coloro che gli aveano prestata fede furon dissipati, e ridotti a nulla.

36For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
