Pero un hombre llamado Ananías y su esposa Safira vendieron una posesión.

MAS un varón llamado Ananías, con Safira su mujer, vendió una posesión,

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

A sabiendas de su esposa, sustrajo una porción del valor y llevó el resto a los apóstoles.

Y defraudó del precio, sabiéndolo también su mujer; y trayendo una parte, púsola á los pies de los apóstoles.

And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Pedro le preguntó: Ananías, ¿por qué llenó Satanás tu corazón para que mientas al Espíritu Santo, y te quedes con una parte del valor de la posesión?

Y dijo Pedro: Ananías, ¿por qué ha llenado Satanás tu corazón á que mintieses al Espíritu Santo, y defraudases del precio de la heredad?

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land?

¿No era tuya la posesión? Y al venderla, ¿no era tuyo el dinero? ¿Por qué decidiste hacer esto? No mentiste a hombres, sino a Dios.

Reteniéndola, ¿no se te quedaba á ti? y vendida, ¿no estaba en tu potestad? ¿Por qué pusiste esto en tu corazón? No has mentido á los hombres, sino á Dios.

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”

Al oír Ananías estas palabras, cayó muerto. Y vino un gran temor sobre todos los que lo supieron.

Entonces Ananías, oyendo estas palabras, cayó y espiró. Y vino un gran temor sobre todos los que lo oyeron.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

Cuando aparecieron los jóvenes, lo envolvieron en una sábana para cadáveres, lo sacaron y lo sepultaron.

Y levantándose los mancebos, le tomaron, y sacándolo, sepultáronlo.

And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

Como tres horas más tarde su esposa llegó, sin saber lo ocurrido.

Y pasado espacio como de tres horas, sucedió que entró su mujer, no sabiendo lo que había acontecido.

And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

Pedro la enfrentó: Dime, ¿vendieron por tanto la parcela? Ella contestó: Sí, por tanto.

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Dime: ¿vendisteis en tanto la heredad? Y ella dijo: Sí, en tanto.

And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” She said, “Yes, for so much.”

Pedro le preguntó: ¿Por qué acordaron tentar al Espíritu del Señor? Ahí están en la puerta los que sepultaron a tu esposo y te sacarán.

Y Pedro le dijo: ¿Por qué os concertasteis para tentar al Espíritu del Señor? He aquí á la puerta los pies de los que han sepultado á tu marido, y te sacarán.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

But Peter asked her, “How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

De inmediato cayó muerta a sus pies. Los jóvenes entraron y la hallaron muerta. La sacaron y la sepultaron junto a su esposo.

Y luego cayó á los pies de él, y espiró: y entrados los mancebos, la hallaron muerta; y la sacaron, y la sepultaron junto á su marido.

Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

She fell down immediately at his feet and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.

Vino un gran temor sobre toda la iglesia y los que oyeron esto.

Y vino un gran temor en toda la iglesia, y en todos los que oyeron estas cosas.

And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Great fear came on the whole assembly, and on all who heard these things.

Los apóstoles realizaban muchas señales milagrosas y prodigios entre el pueblo, y estaban todos unánimes en el Patio de Salomón.

Y por las manos de los apóstoles eran hechos muchos milagros y prodigios en el pueblo; y estaban todos unánimes en el pórtico de Salomón.

And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

Pero ninguno del pueblo se atrevía a estar con ellos. Sin embargo, el pueblo los alababa muchísimo.

Y de los otros, ninguno osaba juntarse con ellos; mas el pueblo los alababa grandemente.

And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

None of the rest dared to join them; however, the people honored them.

Se añadían muchos más que creían en el Señor, hombres y mujeres,

Y los que creían en el Señor se aumentaban más, gran número así de hombres como de mujeres;

And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

tanto que aun sacaban a los enfermos a las calles en catres y camillas para que al pasar Pedro, al menos su sombra cubriera a alguno de ellos.

Tanto que echaban los enfermos por las calles, y los ponían en camas y en lechos, para que viniendo Pedro, á lo menos su sombra tocase á alguno de ellos.

Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

They even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mattresses, so that as Peter came by, at least his shadow might overshadow some of them.

También de ciudades circunvecinas de Jerusalén se reunía la multitud, y llevaban enfermos y atormentados por espíritus impuros. Todos eran sanados.

Y aun de las ciudades vecinas concurría multitud á Jerusalem, trayendo enfermos y atormentados de espíritus inmundos; los cuales todos eran curados.

There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

The multitude also came together from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits; and they were all healed.

El sumo sacerdote se levantó con todos sus compañeros, quienes eran de la secta de los saduceos, se llenaron de envidia,

Entonces levantándose el príncipe de los sacerdotes, y todos los que estaban con él, que es la secta de los Saduceos, se llenaron de celo;

Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

detuvieron a los apóstoles y los pusieron en custodia pública.

Y echaron mano á los apóstoles, y pusiéronlos en la cárcel pública.

Pero un ángel del Señor, quien abrió las puertas de la cárcel, los sacó y les dijo:

But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

Vayan. Puestos en pie en el Templo, hablen al pueblo todas las Palabras de esta Vida.

Id, y estando en el templo, hablad al pueblo todas las palabras de esta vida.

Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

“Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”

Escucharon esto, entraron al amanecer en el Templo y enseñaban. Al aparecer el sumo sacerdote y sus compañeros, convocaron al Tribunal Supremo y a todo el Consejo de Ancianos de los hijos de Israel. Enviaron órdenes a la cárcel para que los llevaran.

Y oído que hubieron esto, entraron de mañana en el templo, y enseñaban. Entre tanto, viniendo el príncipe de los sacerdotes, y los que eran con él, convocaron el concilio, y á todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel, y enviaron á la cárcel para que fuesen traídos.

And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

Pero al llegar los alguaciles, no los hallaron en la cárcel. Regresaron e informaron:

Mas como llegaron los ministros, y no los hallaron en la cárcel, volvieron, y dieron aviso,

But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,

But the officers who came didn’t find them in the prison. They returned and reported,

Hallamos la cárcel cerrada con toda seguridad y a los centinelas de pie ante las puertas, pero a nadie hallamos adentro.

Diciendo: Por cierto, la cárcel hemos hallado cerrada con toda seguridad, y los guardas que estaban delante de las puertas; mas cuando abrimos, á nadie hallamos dentro.

Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

“We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!”

Cuando el jefe de la guardia del Templo y los principales sacerdotes oyeron estas palabras, estaban muy perplejos en cuanto a qué significaría esto.

Y cuando oyeron estas palabras el pontífice y el magistrado del templo y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, dudaban en qué vendría á parar aquello.

Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.

Entonces llegó uno que les informó: Miren, los hombres que fueron puestos en la cárcel están en el Templo y enseñan al pueblo.

Pero viniendo uno, dióles esta noticia: He aquí, los varones que echasteis en la cárcel, están en el templo, y enseñan al pueblo.

Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

One came and told them, “Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.”

Luego el jefe de la guardia, quien fue con los alguaciles, los conducía sin violencia, porque temía que fueran apedreados por el pueblo.

Entonces fué el magistrado con los ministros, y trájolos sin violencia; porque temían del pueblo ser apedreados.

Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.

Los presentaron en el Tribunal Supremo, y el sumo sacerdote los interrogó:

Y como los trajeron, los presentaron en el concilio: y el príncipe de los sacerdotes les preguntó,

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

Les mandamos estrictamente que no enseñen en ese Nombre. Pero han llenado a Jerusalén de su enseñanza y quieren traer sobre nosotros la sangre de ese Hombre.

Diciendo: ¿No os denunciamos estrechamente, que no enseñaseis en este nombre? y he aquí, habéis llenado á Jerusalem de vuestra doctrina, y queréis echar sobre nosotros la sangre de este hombre.

Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

saying, “Didn’t we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood on us.”

Pedro y los apóstoles respondieron: Tenemos que obedecer a Dios y no a hombres.

Y respondiendo Pedro y los apóstoles, dijeron: Es menester obedecer á Dios antes que á los hombres.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

El Dios de nuestros antepasados resucitó a Jesús, a Quien ustedes colgaron en un madero y lo mataron.

El Dios de nuestros padres levantó á Jesús, al cual vosotros matasteis colgándole en un madero.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.

Dios exaltó a Éste a su mano derecha como Príncipe y Salvador para dar a Israel cambio de mente y perdón de pecados.

A éste ha Dios ensalzado con su diestra por Príncipe y Salvador, para dar á Israel arrepentimiento y remisión de pecados.

Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

Nosotros somos testigos de estas cosas, y también el Espíritu Santo, a Quien Dios derramó sobre los que le obedecen.

Y nosotros somos testigos suyos de estas cosas, y también el Espíritu Santo, el cual ha dado Dios á los que le obedecen.

And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Pero cuando ellos oyeron esto, se enfurecieron profundamente y quisieron matarlos.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were determined to kill them.

Se levantó en el Tribunal Supremo un fariseo y maestro de la Ley llamado Gamaliel, respetado por todo el pueblo, y ordenó que sacaran a los apóstoles del recinto brevemente.

Entonces levantándose en el concilio un Fariseo llamado Gamaliel, doctor de la ley, venerable á todo el pueblo, mandó que sacasen fuera un poco á los apóstoles.

Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;

But one stood up in the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, honored by all the people, and commanded to put the apostles out for a little while.

Les dijo: Varones israelitas, tengan cuidado de ustedes mismos con respecto a lo que van a hacer a estos hombres.

Y les dijo: Varones Israelitas, mirad por vosotros acerca de estos hombres en lo que habéis de hacer.

And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.

He said to them, “You men of Israel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.

Porque hace un tiempo surgió Teudas y dijo que él era alguien, a quien se unió un número como de 400 hombres. Éste fue muerto. Todos los que le obedecían fueron dispersados y se redujeron a nada.

Porque antes de estos días se levantó Teudas, diciendo que era alguien; al que se agregó un número de hombres como cuatrocientos: el cual fué matado; y todos los que le creyeron fueron dispersos, y reducidos á nada.

For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

Después de éste surgió Judas el galileo en los días del censo, e incitó a muchos para que lo siguieran. También él fue asesinado, y sus seguidores se dispersaron.

Después de éste, se levantó Judas el Galileo en los días del empadronamiento, y llevó mucho pueblo tras sí. Pereció también aquél; y todos los que consintieron con él, fueron derramados.

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

Les digo con respecto a lo de ahora: No tomen en cuenta a estos hombres y déjenlos, porque si esta decisión o esta obra es de hombres, se desvanecerá.

Y ahora os digo: Dejaos de estos hombres, y dejadlos; porque si este consejo ó esta obra es de los hombres, se desvanecerá:

And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

Now I tell you, withdraw from these men and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of men, it will be overthrown.

Pero si es de Dios, no podrán destruirlos, no sea que también se descubra que luchan contra Dios. Y fueron persuadidos por él.

Mas si es de Dios, no la podréis deshacer; no seáis tal vez hallados resistiendo á Dios.

But if it be of God, ye can not overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow it, and you would be found even to be fighting against God!”

Llamaron a los apóstoles, los azotaron, les ordenaron no hablar en el Nombre de Jesús, y los soltaron.

Y convinieron con él: y llamando á los apóstoles, después de azotados, les intimaron que no hablasen en el nombre de Jesús, y soltáronlos.

And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

They agreed with him. Summoning the apostles, they beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

Ellos salieron de la presencia del Tribunal Supremo regocijados porque fueron considerados dignos de sufrir por el Nombre.

Y ellos partieron de delante del concilio, gozosos de que fuesen tenidos por dignos de padecer afrenta por el Nombre.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name.

Cada día en el Templo y de casa en casa, no cesaban de enseñar y proclamar: Jesús es el Cristo.

Y todos los días, en el templo y por las casas, no cesaban de enseñar y predicar á Jesucristo.

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus, the Christ.
