E il sommo sacerdote disse: Stanno queste cose proprio così?

EL príncipe de los sacerdotes dijo entonces: ¿Es esto así?

Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

The high priest said, “Are these things so?”

Ed egli disse: Fratelli e padri, ascoltate. L’Iddio della gloria apparve ad Abramo, nostro padre, mentr’egli era in Mesopotamia, prima che abitasse in Carran,

Y él dijo: Varones hermanos y padres, oid: El Dios de la gloria apareció á nuestro padre Abraham, estando en Mesopotamia, antes que morase en Chârán,

And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

He said, “Brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,

e gli disse: Esci dal tuo paese e dal tuo parentado, e vieni nel paese che io ti mostrerò.

Y le dijo: Sal de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y ven á la tierra que te mostraré.

And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

and said to him, ‘Get out of your land and away from your relatives, and come into a land which I will show you.’

Allora egli uscì dal paese de’ Caldei, e abitò in Carran; e di là, dopo che suo padre fu morto, Iddio lo fece venire in questo paese, che ora voi abitate.

Entonces salió de la tierra de los Caldeos, y habitó en Chârán: y de allí, muerto su padre, le traspasó á esta tierra, en la cual vosotros habitáis ahora;

Then came he out of the land of the Chaldæans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

Then he came out of the land of the Chaldaeans and lived in Haran. From there, when his father was dead, God moved him into this land where you are now living.

E non gli diede alcuna eredità in esso, neppure un palmo di terra, ma gli promise di darne la possessione a lui e alla sua progenie dopo di lui, quand’egli non aveva ancora alcun figliuolo.

Y no le dió herencia en ella, ni aun para asentar un pie: mas le prometió que se la daría en posesión, y á su simiente después de él, no teniendo hijo.

And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

E Dio parlò così: La sua progenie soggiornerà in terra straniera, e sarà ridotta in servitù e maltrattata per quattrocent’anni.

Y hablóle Dios así: Que su simiente sería extranjera en tierra ajena, y que los reducirían á servidumbre y maltratarían, por cuatrocientos años.

And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

God spoke in this way: that his offspring would live as aliens in a strange land, and that they would be enslaved and mistreated for four hundred years.

Ma io giudicherò la nazione alla quale avranno servito, disse Iddio; e dopo questo essi partiranno e mi renderanno il loro culto in questo luogo.

Mas yo juzgaré, dijo Dios, la nación á la cual serán siervos: y después de esto saldrán y me servirán en este lugar.

And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

‘I will judge the nation to which they will be in bondage,’ said God, ‘and after that they will come out and serve me in this place.’

E gli dette il patto della circoncisione; e così Abramo generò Isacco, e lo circoncise l’ottavo giorno; e Isacco generò Giacobbe, e Giacobbe i dodici patriarchi.

Y dióle el pacto de la circuncisión: y así Abraham engendró á Isaac, y le circuncidó al octavo día; é Isaac á Jacob, y Jacob á los doce patriarcas.

And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

He gave him the covenant of circumcision. So Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

E i patriarchi, portando invidia a Giuseppe, lo venderono perché fosse menato in Egitto; ma Dio era con lui,

Y los patriarcas, movidos de envidia, vendieron á José para Egipto; mas Dios era con él,

And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

“The patriarchs, moved with jealousy against Joseph, sold him into Egypt. God was with him

e lo liberò da tutte le sue distrette, e gli diede grazia e sapienza davanti a Faraone, re d’Egitto, che lo costituì governatore dell’Egitto e di tutta la sua casa.

Y le libró de todas sus tribulaciones, y le dió gracia y sabiduría en la presencia de Faraón, rey de Egipto, el cual le puso por gobernador sobre Egipto, y sobre toda su casa.

And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

Or sopravvenne una carestia e una gran distretta in tutto l’Egitto e in Canaan; e i nostri padri non trovavano viveri.

Vino entonces hambre en toda la tierra de Egipto y de Canaán, y grande tribulación; y nuestros padres no hallaban alimentos.

Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

Ma avendo Giacobbe udito che in Egitto v’era del grano, vi mandò una prima volta i nostri padri.

Y como oyese Jacob que había trigo en Egipto, envió á nuestros padres la primera vez.

E la seconda volta, Giuseppe fu riconosciuto dai suoi fratelli, e Faraone conobbe di che stirpe fosse Giuseppe.

Y en la segunda, José fué conocido de sus hermanos, y fué sabido de Faraón el linaje de José.

And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

E Giuseppe mandò a chiamare Giacobbe suo padre, e tutto il suo parentado, che era di settantacinque anime.

Y enviando José, hizo venir á su padre Jacob, y á toda su parentela, en número de setenta y cinco personas.

Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

Joseph sent and summoned Jacob his father and all his relatives, seventy-five souls.

E Giacobbe scese in Egitto, e morirono egli e i padri nostri,

Así descendió Jacob á Egipto, donde murió él y nuestros padres;

So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

i quali furon trasportati a Sichem, e posti nel sepolcro che Abramo avea comprato a prezzo di danaro dai figliuoli di Emmor in Sichem.

Los cuales fueron trasladados á Sichêm, y puestos en el sepulcro que compró Abraham á precio de dinero de los hijos de Hemor de Sichêm.

And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

and they were brought back to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a price in silver from the children of Hamor of Shechem.

Ma come si avvicinava il tempo della promessa che Dio aveva fatta ad Abramo, il popolo crebbe e moltiplicò in Egitto,

Mas como se acercaba el tiempo de la promesa, la cual Dios había jurado á Abraham, el pueblo creció y multiplicóse en Egipto,

But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

“But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

finché sorse sull’Egitto un altro re, che non sapeva nulla di Giuseppe.

Hasta que se levantó otro rey en Egipto que no conocía á José.

Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

until there arose a different king who didn’t know Joseph.

Costui, procedendo con astuzia contro la nostra stirpe, trattò male i nostri padri, li costrinse ad esporre i loro piccoli fanciulli perché non vivessero.

Este, usando de astucia con nuestro linaje, maltrató á nuestros padres, á fin de que pusiesen á peligro de muerte sus niños, para que cesase la generación.

The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

The same took advantage of our race and mistreated our fathers, and forced them to abandon their babies, so that they wouldn’t stay alive.

In quel tempo nacque Mosè, ed era divinamente bello; e fu nutrito per tre mesi in casa di suo padre;

En aquel mismo tiempo nació Moisés, y fué agradable á Dios: y fué criado tres meses en casa de su padre.

In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:

At that time Moses was born, and was exceedingly handsome to God. He was nourished three months in his father’s house.

e quando fu esposto, la figliuola di Faraone lo raccolse e se lo allevò come figliuolo.

Mas siendo puesto al peligro, la hija de Faraón le tomó, y le crió como á hijo suyo.

And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

When he was abandoned, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up and reared him as her own son.

E Mosè fu educato in tutta la sapienza degli Egizi ed era potente nelle sue parole ed opere.

Y fué enseñado Moisés en toda la sabiduría de los egipcios; y era poderoso en sus dichos y hechos.

And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He was mighty in his words and works.

Ma quando fu pervenuto all’età di quarant’anni, gli venne in animo d’andare a visitare i suoi fratelli, i figliuoli d’Israele.

Y cuando hubo cumplido la edad de cuarenta años, le vino voluntad de visitar á sus hermanos los hijos de Israel.

And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

But when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.

E vedutone uno a cui era fatto torto, lo difese e vendicò l’oppresso, uccidendo l’Egizio.

Y como vió á uno que era injuriado, defendióle, é hiriendo al Egipcio, vengó al injuriado.

And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

Or egli pensava che i suoi fratelli intenderebbero che Dio li voleva salvare per mano di lui; ma essi non l’intesero.

Pero él pensaba que sus hermanos entendían que Dios les había de dar salud por su mano; mas ellos no lo habían entendido.

For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

He supposed that his brothers understood that God, by his hand, was giving them deliverance; but they didn’t understand.

E il giorno seguente egli comparve fra loro, mentre contendevano, e cercava di riconciliarli, dicendo: O uomini, voi siete fratelli, perché fate torto gli uni agli altri?

Y al día siguiente, riñendo ellos, se les mostró, y los ponía en paz, diciendo: Varones, hermanos sois, ¿por qué os injuriáis los unos á los otros?

And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

“The day following, he appeared to them as they fought, and urged them to be at peace again, saying, ‘Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?’

Ma colui che facea torto al suo prossimo lo respinse dicendo: Chi ti ha costituito rettore e giudice su noi?

Entonces el que injuriaba á su prójimo, le rempujó, diciendo: ¿Quién te ha puesto por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros?

But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?

Vuoi tu uccider me come ieri uccidesti l’Egizio?

¿Quieres tú matarme, como mataste ayer al Egipcio?

Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’

A questa parola Mosè fuggì, e dimorò come forestiero nel paese di Madian, dove ebbe due figliuoli.

A esta palabra Moisés huyó, y se hizo extranjero en tierra de Madián, donde engendró dos hijos.

Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

Moses fled at this saying, and became a stranger in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

E in capo a quarant’anni, un angelo gli apparve nel deserto del monte Sinai, nella fiamma d’un pruno ardente.

Y cumplidos cuarenta años, un ángel le apareció en el desierto del monte Sina, en fuego de llama de una zarza.

And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

“When forty years were fulfilled, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush.

E Mosè, veduto ciò, si maravigliò della visione; e come si accostava per osservare, si fece udire questa voce del Signore:

Entonces Moisés mirando, se maravilló de la visión: y llegándose para considerar, fué hecha á él voz del Señor:

When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,

When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight. As he came close to see, the voice of the Lord came to him,

Io son l’Iddio de’ tuoi padri, l’Iddio d’Abramo, d’Isacco e di Giacobbe. E Mosè, tutto tremante, non ardiva osservare.

Yo soy el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob. Mas Moisés, temeroso, no osaba mirar.

Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

‘I am the God of your fathers: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Moses trembled and dared not look.

E il Signore gli disse: Sciogliti i calzari dai piedi; perché il luogo dove stai è terra santa.

Y le dijo el Señor: Quita los zapatos de tus pies, porque el lugar en que estás es tierra santa.

Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

The Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground.

Certo, io ho veduto l’afflizione del mio popolo che è in Egitto, e ho udito i loro sospiri, e son disceso per liberarli; or dunque vieni; io ti manderò in Egitto.

He visto, he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y he oído el gemido de ellos, y he descendido para librarlos. Ahora pues, ven, te enviaré á Egipto.

I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.’

Quel Mosè che aveano rinnegato dicendo: Chi ti ha costituito rettore e giudice? Iddio lo mandò loro come capo e come liberatore con l’aiuto dell’angelo che gli era apparito nel pruno.

A este Moisés, al cual habían rehusado, diciendo: ¿Quién te ha puesto por príncipe y juez? á éste envió Dios por príncipe y redentor con la mano del ángel que le apareció en la zarza.

This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

“This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

Egli li condusse fuori, avendo fatto prodigi e segni nel paese di Egitto, nel mar Rosso e nel deserto per quaranta anni.

Este los sacó, habiendo hecho prodigios y milagros en la tierra de Egipto, y en el mar Bermejo, y en el desierto por cuarenta años.

He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.

Questi è il Mosè che disse ai figliuoli d’Israele: Il Signore Iddio vostro vi susciterà un Profeta d’infra i vostri fratelli, come me.

Este es el Moisés, el cual dijo á los hijos de Israel: Profeta os levantará el Señor Dios vuestro de vuestros hermanos, como yo; á él oiréis.

This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me.’

Questi è colui che nell’assemblea del deserto fu con l’angelo che gli parlava sul monte Sinai, e co’ padri nostri, e che ricevette rivelazioni viventi per darcele.

Este es aquél que estuvo en la congregación en el desierto con el ángel que le hablaba en el monte Sina, y con nuestros padres; y recibió las palabras de vida para darnos:

This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

This is he who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel that spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received living revelations to give to us,

A lui i nostri padri non vollero essere ubbidienti, ma lo ripudiarono, e rivolsero i loro cuori all’Egitto,

Al cual nuestros padres no quisieron obedecer; antes le desecharon, y se apartaron de corazón á Egipto,

To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

to whom our fathers wouldn’t be obedient, but rejected him and turned back in their hearts to Egypt,

dicendo ad Aronne: Facci degl’iddii che vadano davanti a noi; perché quant’è a questo Mosè che ci ha condotti fuori del paese d’Egitto, noi non sappiamo quel che ne sia avvenuto.

Diciendo á Aarón: Haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque á este Moisés, que nos sacó de tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le ha acontecido.

Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods that will go before us, for as for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’

E in quei giorni fecero un vitello, e offersero un sacrificio all’idolo, e si rallegrarono delle opere delle loro mani.

Y entonces hicieron un becerro, y ofrecieron sacrificio al ídolo, y en las obras de sus manos se holgaron.

And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Ma Dio si rivolse da loro e li abbandonò al culto dell’esercito del cielo, com’è scritto nel libro dei profeti: Casa d’Israele, mi offriste voi vittime e sacrifici durante quarant’anni nel deserto?

Y Dios se apartó, y los entregó que sirviesen al ejército del cielo; como está escrito en el libro de los profetas: ¿Me ofrecisteis víctimas y sacrificios en el desierto por cuarenta años, casa de Israel?

Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

But God turned away and gave them up to serve the army of the sky, as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘Did you offer to me slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

Anzi, voi portaste la tenda di Moloc e la stella del dio Romfàn, immagini che voi faceste per adorarle. Perciò io vi trasporterò al di là di Babilonia.

Antes, trajisteis el tabernáculo de Moloch, y la estrella de vuestro dios Remphan: figuras que os hicisteis para adorarlas: os transportaré pues, más allá de Babilonia.

Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

You took up the tabernacle of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, the figures which you made to worship, so I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’

Il tabernacolo della testimonianza fu coi nostri padri nel deserto, come avea comandato Colui che avea detto a Mosè che lo facesse secondo il modello che avea veduto.

Tuvieron nuestros padres el tabernáculo del testimonio en el desierto, como había ordenado Dios, hablando á Moisés que lo hiciese según la forma que había visto.

Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

“Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to make it according to the pattern that he had seen;

E i nostri padri, guidati da Giosuè, ricevutolo, lo introdussero nel paese posseduto dalle genti che Dio scacciò d’innanzi ai nostri padri. Quivi rimase fino ai giorni di Davide,

El cual recibido, metieron también nuestros padres con Josué en la posesión de los Gentiles, que Dios echó de la presencia de nuestros padres, hasta los días de David;

Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

il quale trovò grazia nel cospetto di Dio, e chiese di preparare una dimora all’Iddio di Giacobbe.

El cual halló gracia delante de Dios, y pidió hallar tabernáculo para el Dios de Jacob.

Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

who found favor in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.

Ma Salomone fu quello che gli edificò una casa.

L’Altissimo però non abita in templi fatti da man d’uomo, come dice il profeta:

Si bien el Altísimo no habita en templos hechos de mano; como el profeta dice:

Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

Il cielo è il mio trono, e la terra lo sgabello de’ miei piedi. Qual casa mi edificherete voi? dice il Signore; o qual sarà il luogo del mio riposo?

El cielo es mi trono, y la tierra es el estrado de mis pies. ¿Qué casa me edificaréis? dice el Señor; ¿ó cuál es el lugar de mi reposo?

Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

‘heaven is my throne, and the earth a footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build me?’ says the Lord. ‘Or what is the place of my rest?

Non ha la mia mano fatte tutte queste cose?

¿No hizo mi mano todas estas cosas?

Hath not my hand made all these things?

Didn’t my hand make all these things?’

Gente di collo duro e incirconcisa di cuore e d’orecchi, voi contrastate sempre allo Spirito Santo; come fecero i padri vostri, così fate anche voi.

Duros de cerviz, é incircuncisos de corazón y de oídos, vosotros resistís siempre al Espíritu Santo: como vuestros padres, así también vosotros.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so you do.

Qual dei profeti non perseguitarono i padri vostri? E uccisero quelli che preannunziavano la venuta del Giusto, del quale voi ora siete stati i traditori e gli uccisori;

¿A cuál de los profetas no persiguieron vuestros padres? y mataron á los que antes anunciaron la venida del Justo, del cual vosotros ahora habéis sido entregadores y matadores;

Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

Which of the prophets didn’t your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.
