Hechos 8

Por aquellos días se levantó una gran persecución contra la Iglesia de Jerusalén , y todos los discípulos, menos los apóstoles, se dispersaron por varios distritos de Judea, y de Samaria.

Y SAULO consentía en su muerte. Y en aquel día se hizo una grande persecución en la iglesia que estaba en Jerusalem; y todos fueron esparcidos por las tierras de Judea y de Samaria, salvo los apóstoles.

And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judæa and Samaria, except the apostles.

Mas algunos hombres piadosos cuidaron de dar sepultura a Esteban, en cuyas exequias hicieron gran duelo.

Y llevaron á enterrar á Esteban varones piadosos, é hicieron gran llanto sobre él.

And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

Entretanto Saulo iba desolando la Iglesia, y entrándose por las casas, sacaba con violencia a hombres y mujeres, y los hacía meter en la cárcel.

Entonces Saulo asolaba la iglesia, entrando por las casas: y trayendo hombres y mujeres, los entregaba en la cárcel.

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into every house and dragged both men and women off to prison.

Pero los que se habían dispersado andaban de un lugar a otro, predicando la palabra de Dios.

Mas los que fueron esparcidos, iban por todas partes anunciando la palabra.

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.

Entre ellos Felipe, habiendo llegado a la ciudad de Samaria, les predicaba a Cristo .

Entonces Felipe, descendiendo á la ciudad de Samaria, les predicaba á Cristo.

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ.

Y era grande la atención con que todo el pueblo escuchaba los discursos de Felipe, oyéndole todos con el mismo fervor, y viendo los milagros que obraba.

Y las gentes escuchaban atentamente unánimes las cosas que decía Felipe, oyendo y viendo las señales que hacía.

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip when they heard and saw the signs which he did.

Porque muchos espíritus inmundos salían de los poseídos, dando grandes gritos,

Porque de muchos que tenían espíritus inmundos, salían éstos dando grandes voces; y muchos paralíticos y cojos eran sanados:

For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.

y muchos paralíticos y cojos fueron curados.

Así que había gran gozo en aquella ciudad.

And there was great joy in that city.

There was great joy in that city.

Por lo que se llenó de gran alegría aquella ciudad. En ella había ejercitado antes la magia un hombre llamado Simón, engañando a los samaritanos, y persuadiéndoles que él era un gran personaje.

Y había un hombre llamado Simón, el cual había sido antes mágico en aquella ciudad, y había engañado la gente de Samaria, diciéndose ser algún grande:

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who used to practice sorcery in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, making himself out to be some great one,

Todos, grandes y pequeños, le escuchaban con veneración, y decían: Este es la virtud grande de Dios.

Al cual oían todos atentamente desde el más pequeño hasta el más grande, diciendo: Este es la gran virtud de Dios.

To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

to whom they all listened, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is that great power of God.”

La causa de su adhesión a él era porque ya hacía mucho tiempo que los traía embaucados con su arte mágica.

Y le estaban atentos, porque con sus artes mágicas los había embelesado mucho tiempo.

And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

They listened to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.

Pero luego que hubieron creído la palabra del reino de Dios, que Felipe les anunciaba, hombres y mujeres se hacían bautizar en nombre de Jesucristo.

Mas cuando creyeron á Felipe, que anunciaba el evangelio del reino de Dios y el nombre de Jesucristo, se bautizaban hombres y mujeres.

But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Entonces creyó también el mismo Simón, y habiendo sido bautizado, seguía y acompañaba a Felipe. Y al ver los milagros y portentos grandísimos que se hacían, estaba atónito y lleno de asombro.

El mismo Simón creyó también entonces, y bautizándose, se llegó á Felipe: y viendo los milagros y grandes maravillas que se hacían, estaba atónito.

Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Simon himself also believed. Being baptized, he continued with Philip. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.

Sabiendo, pues, los apóstoles, que estaban en Jerusalén , que los samaritanos habían recibido la palabra de Dios, les enviaron a Pedro y a Juan.

Y los apóstoles que estaban en Jerusalem, habiendo oído que Samaria había recibido la palabra de Dios, les enviaron á Pedro y á Juan:

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

Estos en llegando, hicieron oración por ellos a fin de que recibiesen al Espíritu Santo.

Los cuales venidos, oraron por ellos, para que recibiesen el Espíritu Santo;

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit;

Porque aún no había descendido sobre ninguno de ellos, sino que solamente estaban bautizados en nombre del Señor Jesús .

(Porque aun no había descendido sobre ninguno de ellos, mas solamente eran bautizados en el nombre de Jesús.)

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

for as yet he had fallen on none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of Christ Jesus.

Entonces les imponían las manos, y luego recibían al Espíritu Santo.

Entonces les impusieron las manos, y recibieron el Espíritu Santo.

Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Habiendo visto, pues, Simón, que por la imposición de las manos de los apóstoles se daba el Espíritu Santo, les ofreció dinero,

Y como vió Simón que por la imposición de las manos de los apóstoles se daba el Espíritu Santo, les ofreció dinero,

And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,

diciendo: Dadme también a mí esa potestad, para que cualquiera a quien imponga yo las manos, reciba al Espíritu Santo. Mas Pedro le respondió:

Diciendo: Dadme también á mí esta potestad, que á cualquiera que pusiere las manos encima, reciba el Espíritu Santo.

Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

saying, “Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

Perezca tu dinero contigo; pues has juzgado que se alcanzaba por dinero el don de Dios.

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Tu dinero perezca contigo, que piensas que el don de Dios se gane por dinero.

But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!

No puedes tú tener parte, ni cabida en este ministerio; porque tu corazón no es recto a los ojos de Dios.

No tienes tú parte ni suerte en este negocio; porque tu corazón no es recto delante de Dios.

Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.

Por tanto haz penitencia de esta perversidad tuya, y ruega de tal suerte a Dios, que te sea perdonado ese desvarío de tu corazón.

Arrepiéntete pues de esta tu maldad, y ruega á Dios, si quizás te será perdonado el pensamiento de tu corazón.

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

Pues yo te veo lleno de amarguísima hiel, y arrastrando la cadena de la iniquidad.

Porque en hiel de amargura y en prisión de maldad veo que estás.

For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

For I see that you are in the poison of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”

Respondió Simón, y dijo: Rogad por mí vosotros al Señor, para que no venga sobre mí nada de lo que acabáis de decir.

Respondiendo entonces Simón, dijo: Rogad vosotros por mí al Señor, que ninguna cosa de estas que habéis dicho, venga sobre mí.

Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

Simon answered, “Pray for me to the Lord, that none of the things which you have spoken happen to me.”

Ellos en fin, habiendo predicado y dado testimonio de la palabra del Señor, regresaron a Jerusalén , anunciando la buena nueva en muchos distritos de los samaritanos.

Y ellos, habiendo testificado y hablado la palabra de Dios, se volvieron á Jerusalem, y en muchas tierras de los Samaritanos anunciaron el evangelio.

And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the Good News to many villages of the Samaritans.

Mas un ángel del Señor habló a Felipe, diciendo: Parte, y ve hacia el mediodía, por la vía que lleva de Jerusalén a Gaza; la cual está desierta.

Empero el ángel del Señor habló á Felipe, diciendo: Levántate y ve hacia el mediodía, al camino que desciende de Jerusalem á Gaza, el cual es desierto.

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Then an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert.”

Partió luego Felipe, y se fue hacia allá. Y he aquí que encuentra a un etíope, eunuco, gran valido de Candace, reina de los etíopes, y superintendente de todos sus tesoros, el cual había venido a Jerusalén a adorar a Dios;

Entonces él se levantó, y fué: y he aquí un Etiope, eunuco, gobernador de Candace, reina de los Etiopes, el cual era puesto sobre todos sus tesoros, y había venido á adorar á Jerusalem,

And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship.

y a la sazón se volvía, sentado en su carruaje, y leyendo al profeta Isaías.

Se volvía sentado en su carro, y leyendo el profeta Isaías.

Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

He was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.

Entonces dijo el espíritu a Felipe: Date prisa y arrímate a ese carruaje.

Y el Espíritu dijo á Felipe: Llégate, y júntate á este carro.

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”

Acercándose, pues, Felipe, a toda prisa, oyó que iba leyendo en el profeta Isaías, y les dijo: ¿Te parece a ti que entiendes lo que vas leyendo?

Y acudiendo Felipe, le oyó que leía el profeta Isaías, y dijo: Mas ¿entiendes lo que lees?

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

¿Cómo lo he de entender, respondió él, si alguno no me lo explica? Rogó, pues, a Felipe que subiese, y tomase asiento a su lado.

Y él dijo: ¿Y cómo podré, si alguno no me enseñare? Y rogó á Felipe que subiese, y se sentase con él.

And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

He said, “How can I, unless someone explains it to me?” He begged Philip to come up and sit with him.

El pasaje de la Escritura que iba leyendo, era éste: Como oveja fue conducido al matadero: y como cordero que está sin balar en manos del que le trasquila, así él no abrió su boca.

Y el lugar de la Escritura que leía, era éste: Como oveja á la muerte fué llevado; y como cordero mudo delante del que le trasquila, así no abrió su boca:

The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn’t open his mouth.

Después de sus humillaciones ha sido libertado del poder de la muerte a la cual fue condenado. Su generación, ¿quién podrá declararla?, puesto que su vida será cortada de la tierra.

En su humillación su juicio fué quitado: mas su generación, ¿quién la contará? porque es quitada de la tierra su vida.

In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away. Who will declare His generation? For his life is taken from the earth.”

A esto preguntó el eunuco a Felipe: Dime, te ruego, ¿de quién dice esto el profeta?, ¿de sí mismo, o de algún otro?

Y respondiendo el eunuco á Felipe, dijo: Ruégote ¿de quién el profeta dice esto? ¿de sí, ó de otro alguno?

And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

The eunuch answered Philip, “Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?”

Entonces Felipe tomando la palabra, y comenzando por este texto de la Escritura, le evangelizó a Jesús .

Entonces Felipe, abriendo su boca, y comenzando desde esta escritura, le anunció el evangelio de Jesús.

Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him about Jesus.

Siguiendo su camino, llegaron a un paraje en que había agua; y dijo el eunuco: Aquí hay agua: ¿qué impedimento hay para que yo sea bautizado?

Y yendo por el camino, llegaron á cierta agua; y dijo el eunuco: He aquí agua; ¿qué impide que yo sea bautizado?

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

As they went on the way, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?”

Ninguno, respondió Felipe, si crees de todo corazón. A lo que dijo el eunuco: Yo creo que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios.

Y Felipe dijo: Si crees de todo corazón, bien puedes. Y respondiendo, dijo: Creo que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios.

And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Y mandando parar el carruaje, bajaron ambos, Felipe y el eunuco, al agua, y Felipe le bautizó.

Y mandó parar el carro: y descendieron ambos al agua, Felipe y el eunuco; y bautizóle.

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

Así que salieron del agua el Espíritu del Señor arrebató a Felipe, y no le vio más el eunuco; el cual prosiguió su viaje rebosando de gozo.

Y como subieron del agua, el Espíritu del Señor arrebató á Felipe; y no le vió más el eunuco, y se fué por su camino gozoso.

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the eunuch didn’t see him any more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

Felipe de repente se halló en Azoto, y fue anunciando la buena nueva a todas las ciudades por donde pasaba, hasta que llegó a Cesarea.

Felipe empero se halló en Azoto: y pasando, anunciaba el evangelio en todas las ciudades, hasta que llegó á Cesarea.

But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Cæsarea.

But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.
