Saulo, respirando amenazas de muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, acudió al jefe de los sacerdotes en Jerusalén

Y SAULO, respirando aún amenazas y muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, vino al príncipe de los sacerdotes,

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest

para pedirle cartas de autorización para ir a cada una de las sinagogas de Damasco. Quería encontrar y llevar presos a Jerusalén a todos los que siguieran el Nuevo Camino, sin importar si eran hombres o mujeres.

Y demandó de él letras para Damasco á las sinagogas, para que si hallase algunos hombres ó mujeres de esta secta, los trajese presos á Jerusalem.

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

Cuando se aproximaba a Damasco, una luz celestial deslumbrante lo rodeó de pronto.

Y yendo por el camino, aconteció que llegando cerca de Damasco, súbitamente le cercó un resplandor de luz del cielo;

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.

Cayó al suelo y escuchó una voz que le decía: ―Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?

Y cayendo en tierra, oyó una voz que le decía: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

―¿Quién eres, Señor? —preguntó. ―Yo soy Jesús —le contestó la voz—, a quien tú persigues.

Y él dijo: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y él dijo: Yo soy Jesús á quien tú persigues: dura cosa te es dar coces contra el aguijón.

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

»Levántate, entra en la ciudad y espera instrucciones».

El, temblando y temeroso, dijo: Señor, ¿qué quieres que haga? Y el Señor le dice: Levántate y entra en la ciudad, y se te dirá lo que te conviene hacer.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

But rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.”

Los hombres que iban con Saulo quedaron mudos de asombro, porque escucharon la voz, pero no vieron a nadie.

Y los hombres que iban con Saulo, se pararon atónitos, oyendo á la verdad la voz, mas no viendo á nadie.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one.

Saulo se levantó del suelo, pero cuando abrió los ojos ¡estaba ciego!

Entonces Saulo se levantó de tierra, y abriendo los ojos, no veía á nadie: así que, llevándole por la mano, metiéronle en Damasco;

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

Entonces lo llevaron de la mano a Damasco, donde permaneció tres días ciego, sin tomar alimentos ni agua.

Donde estuvo tres días sin ver, y no comió, ni bebió.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.

Vivía en Damasco un discípulo llamado Ananías, y el Señor le habló en visión: ―¡Ananías! ―Aquí estoy, Señor —respondió.

Había entonces un discípulo en Damasco llamado Ananías, al cual el Señor dijo en visión: Ananías. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, Señor.

And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.”

―Vete a la calle la Derecha, a la casa de un hombre llamado Judas. Pregunta allí por Saulo de Tarso. Ahora mismo él está orando, porque

Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate, y ve á la calle que se llama la Derecha, y busca en casa de Judas á uno llamado Saulo, de Tarso: porque he aquí, él ora;

And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

The Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,

yo le he mostrado en visión a un hombre llamado Ananías que se le acerca y le pone las manos en la cabeza para que recupere la vista.

Y ha visto en visión un varón llamado Ananías, que entra y le pone la mano encima, para que reciba la vista.

And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.”

―Pero, Señor —exclamó Ananías—, he oído contar cosas horribles acerca de ese hombre, y de todo el mal que ha causado a tus santos en Jerusalén.

Entonces Ananías respondió: Señor, he oído á muchos acerca de este hombre, cuántos males ha hecho á tus santos en Jerusalem:

Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem.

Y sabemos que tiene órdenes de arresto, firmadas por los principales sacerdotes, para llevarse presos a todos los que invocan tu nombre.

Y aun aquí tiene facultad de los príncipes de los sacerdotes de prender á todos los que invocan tu nombre.

And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”

―Ve y haz lo que te digo —le respondió el Señor—. Yo lo he escogido para que pregone mi nombre tanto entre las naciones, delante de reyes, como al pueblo de Israel.

Y le dijo el Señor: Ve: porque instrumento escogido me es éste, para que lleve mi nombre en presencia de los Gentiles, y de reyes, y de los hijos de Israel:

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.

Y yo le mostraré cuánto tendrá que sufrir por mi nombre.

Porque yo le mostraré cuánto le sea menester que padezca por mi nombre.

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

Ananías obedeció. Al llegar a donde estaba Saulo, le puso las manos encima y le dijo: ―Hermano Saulo, el Señor Jesús, que se te apareció en el camino, me ha enviado para que recobres la vista y seas lleno del Espíritu Santo.

Ananías entonces fué, y entró en la casa, y poniéndole las manos encima, dijo: Saulo hermano, el Señor Jesús, que te apareció en el camino por donde venías, me ha enviado para que recibas la vista y seas lleno de Espíritu Santo.

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Ananias departed and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Al instante recobró la vista y cayeron de sus ojos algo así como escamas. Inmediatamente Ananías lo bautizó.

Y luego le cayeron de los ojos como escamas, y recibió al punto la vista: y levantándose, fué bautizado.

And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized.

Luego comió para recuperar sus fuerzas. Saulo en Damasco y en Jerusalén Después de permanecer con los discípulos de Damasco varios días,

Y como comió, fué confortado. Y estuvo Saulo por algunos días con los discípulos que estaban en Damasco.

And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus.

se fue por las sinagogas afirmando que Jesús era el Hijo de Dios.

Y luego en las sinagogas predicaba á Cristo, diciendo que éste era el Hijo de Dios.

And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God.

Los que lo escuchaban estaban confundidos y se preguntaban: «¿No es este el mismo que perseguía a muerte a los que invocan este nombre en Jerusalén? Según sabíamos, venía a arrestarlos y a llevarlos encadenados ante los principales sacerdotes».

Y todos los que le oían estaban atónitos, y decían: ¿No es éste el que asolaba en Jerusalem á los que invocaban este nombre, y á eso vino acá, para llevarlos presos á los príncipes de los sacerdotes?

But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

All who heard him were amazed, and said, “Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!”

Saulo, mientras tanto, se volvía cada vez más ferviente en la predicación, y los judíos de Damasco no podían refutarle los argumentos con que probaba que Jesús era el Mesías.

Empero Saulo mucho más se esforzaba, y confundía á los Judíos que moraban en Damasco, afirmando que éste es el Cristo.

But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

Después de muchos días, los judíos decidieron matarlo,

Y como pasaron muchos días, los Judíos hicieron entre sí consejo de matarle;

And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,

pero el plan llegó a oídos de Saulo. Y como sus enemigos vigilaban día y noche las puertas de la ciudad para matarlo,

Mas las asechanzas de ellos fueron entendidas de Saulo. Y ellos guardaban las puertas de día y de noche para matarle.

But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him,

una noche varios de sus discípulos lo descolgaron en una canasta por una abertura en la muralla.

Entonces los discípulos, tomándole de noche, le bajaron por el muro en una espuerta.

Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

but his disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.

Cuando llegó a Jerusalén, trató de reunirse con los discípulos, pero estos estaban temerosos de que no fuera realmente un discípulo.

Y como vino á Jerusalem, tentaba de juntarse con los discípulos; mas todos tenían miedo de él, no creyendo que era discípulo.

And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

Pero Bernabé lo presentó a los apóstoles y les contó cómo Saulo había visto al Señor en el camino de Damasco, lo que el Señor le había dicho y el poder con que predicaba en Damasco el nombre de Jesús.

Entonces Bernabé, tomándole, lo trajo á los apóstoles, y contóles cómo había visto al Señor en el camino, y que le había hablado, y cómo en Damasco había hablado confiadamente en el nombre de Jesús.

But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.

Saulo se quedó con ellos y andaba por todas partes en Jerusalén,

Y entraba y salía con ellos en Jerusalem;

And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

He was with them entering into Jerusalem,

hablando abiertamente en el nombre del Señor. Algunos judíos de habla griega, con los cuales había discutido, se pusieron de acuerdo para matarlo.

Y hablaba confiadamente en el nombre del Señor: y disputaba con los Griegos; mas ellos procuraban matarle.

And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him.

Cuando los demás hermanos se enteraron, lo llevaron a Cesarea y de allí lo enviaron a Tarso.

Lo cual, como los hermanos entendieron, le acompañaron hasta Cesarea, y le enviaron á Tarso.

Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Cæsarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

When the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.

Mientras tanto, la iglesia de Judea, Galilea y Samaria tenía paz y crecía en fortaleza y número. Los creyentes aprendían cómo andar en el temor del Señor, fortalecidos por el Espíritu Santo.

Las iglesias entonces tenían paz por toda Judea y Galilea y Samaria, y eran edificadas, andando en el temor del Señor; y con consuelo del Espíritu Santo eran multiplicadas.

Then had the churches rest throughout all Judæa and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

So the assemblies throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

Pedro viajaba de lugar en lugar visitándolos. Visitó también a los santos del pueblo de Lida.

Y aconteció que Pedro, andándolos á todos, vino también á los santos que habitaban en Lydda.

And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.

Allí conoció a un tal Eneas, paralítico que hacía ocho años estaba en cama.

Y halló allí á uno que se llamaba Eneas, que hacía ocho años que estaba en cama, que era paralítico.

And there he found a certain man named Æneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years because he was paralyzed.

―¡Eneas —le dijo Pedro—, Jesucristo te sana! Levántate y arregla tu cama. El paralítico quedó curado instantáneamente.

Y le dijo Pedro: Eneas, Jesucristo te sana; levántate, y hazte tu cama. Y luego se levantó.

And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose.

Al verlo caminando, los habitantes de Lida y Sarón se convirtieron al Señor.

Y viéronle todos los que habitaban en Lydda y en Sarona, los cuales se convirtieron al Señor.

And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.

En la ciudad de Jope vivía una mujer llamada Tabita (que significa Dorcas), discípula que siempre estaba haciendo algo por los demás, especialmente por los pobres.

Entonces en Joppe había una discípula llamada Tabita, que si lo declaras, quiere decir Dorcas. Esta era llena de buenas obras y de limosnas que hacía.

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated means Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.

En aquellos días cayó enferma y murió. Después de lavar su cuerpo, lo colocaron en una sala del segundo piso.

Y aconteció en aquellos días que enfermando, murió; á la cual, después de lavada, pusieron en una sala.

And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

In those days, she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.

Al enterarse los discípulos de que Pedro andaba cerca de Lida, enviaron a dos hombres a rogarle que fuera a Jope.

Y como Lydda estaba cerca de Joppe, los discípulos, oyendo que Pedro estaba allí, le enviaron dos hombres, rogándole: No te detengas en venir hasta nosotros.

And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.

Pedro accedió. Al llegar, lo llevaron a la sala donde reposaba el cadáver de Dorcas. El cuarto estaba lleno de viudas que lloraban mientras mostraban las túnicas y vestidos que Dorcas había hecho.

Pedro entonces levantándose, fué con ellos: y llegado que hubo, le llevaron á la sala, donde le rodearon todas las viudas, llorando y mostrando las túnicas y los vestidos que Dorcas hacía cuando estaba con ellas.

Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the tunics and other garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

Pedro les ordenó que salieran del cuarto y se arrodilló a orar. Luego se volvió hacia el cadáver: ―Levántate, Tabita —le ordenó. Inmediatamente ella abrió los ojos; y al ver a Pedro, se incorporó.

Entonces echados fuera todos, Pedro puesto de rodillas, oró; y vuelto al cuerpo, dijo: Tabita, levántate. Y ella abrió los ojos, y viendo á Pedro, incorporóse.

But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

Él le dio la mano, la ayudó a ponerse de pie y llamó a los creyentes y a las viudas para que la vieran.

Y él le dió la mano, y levantóla: entonces llamando á los santos y las viudas, la presentó viva.

And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

He gave her his hand and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

Y cuando la noticia se esparció por el pueblo, muchos creyeron en el Señor.

Esto fué notorio por toda Joppe; y creyeron muchos en el Señor.

And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.

Pedro permaneció varios días en Jope en casa de Simón el curtidor.

Y aconteció que se quedó muchos días en Joppe en casa de un cierto Simón, curtidor.

And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

He stayed many days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.
