Amós 1

Amós era um pastor que vivia na vila de Tecoa, onde cuidava dos seus rebanhos. Certo dia, numa visão, Deus mostrou a ele algumas das coisas que iriam acontecer à sua nação, Israel. Isso aconteceu quando Uzias era rei de Judá e Jeroboão, filho de Joás, era rei de Israel, dois anos antes de acontecer o terremoto.

LAS palabras de Amós, que fué entre los pastores de Tecoa, las cuales vió acerca de Israel en días de Uzzía rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joas rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Aqui está o registro do que Amós viu e ouviu: “O Senhor ruge de Sião. E, de Jerusalém, fala alto, e a sua voz parece um trovão. Os pastos verdes do monte Carmelo ficaram murchos e secos”.

Y dijo: Jehová bramará desde Sión, y dará su voz desde Jerusalem; y las estancias de los pastores se enlutarán, y secaráse la cumbre del Carmelo.

And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Assim diz o Senhor: “O povo de Damasco peca sem parar. Por isso, não deixarei que fiquem sem castigo por mais tempo. Eles feriram o meu povo em Gileade com trilhos de ferro.

Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque trillaron á Galaad con trillos de hierro.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

The LORD says: “For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron;

Por isso, porei fogo no palácio do rei Hazael, e as chamas destruirão as fortalezas de Ben-Hadade.

Y meteré fuego en la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Benhadad.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.

Arrancarei as barras de ferro que trancavam os portões de Damasco e matarei seus habitantes até as planícies de Áven. O povo da Síria voltará a Quir como escravo”, diz o Senhor.

Y quebraré la barra de Damasco, y talaré los moradores de Bicath-aven, y los gobernadores de Beth-eden: y el pueblo de Aram será trasportado á Chîr, dice Jehová.

I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

Assim diz o Senhor: “Gaza peca sem parar. Por isso, não a deixarei sem castigo por mais tempo. Ela enviou meu povo para longe, vendendo-o como escravo a Edom.

Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque llevó cautiva toda la cautividad, para entregarlos á Edom.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

The LORD says: “For three transgressions of Gaza, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they carried away captive the whole community, to deliver them up to Edom;

Portanto, incendiarei os muros de Gaza e todas as suas fortalezas serão destruídas.

Y meteré fuego en el muro de Gaza, y quemará sus palacios.

But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:

Matarei os habitantes de Asdode, destruirei Ecrom e o rei de Ascalom; até que morra o último filisteu”, diz o Soberano, o Senhor.

Y talaré los moradores de Azoto, y los gobernadores de Ascalón: y tornaré mi mano sobre Ecrón, y las reliquias de los Palestinos perecerán, ha dicho el Señor Jehová.

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

Assim diz Senhor: “O povo de Tiro peca sem parar. Não deixarei que fiquem sem castigo por mais tempo. Eles não se lembraram do tratado de amizade; e venderam meu povo como escravos a Edom.

Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque entregaron la cautividad entera á Edom, y no se acordaron del concierto de hermanos.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

The LORD says: “For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant;

Por isso, queimarei as muralhas de Tiro e incendiarei completamente todas as suas fortalezas”.

Y meteré fuego en el muro de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

Assim diz o Senhor: “O povo de Edom peca sem parar. Eu não o deixarei sem castigo por mais tempo. Ele perseguiu a seu irmão, com a espada na mão; e reprimiu-o sem misericórdia, atacando-o furiosamente; sua ira permanece para sempre.

Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque persiguió á cuchillo á su hermano, y rompió sus conmiseraciones; y con su furor le ha robado siempre, y ha perpetuamente guardado el enojo.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

The LORD says: “For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity, and his anger raged continually, and he kept his wrath forever;

Por isso, porei fogo em Temã e esse fogo se estenderá até queimar as fortalezas de Bozra”.

Y meteré fuego en Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.

But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

but I will send a fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah.”

Assim diz o Senhor: “Os moradores de Amom pecam sem parar. Não os deixarei sem castigo por mais tempo porque, em suas guerras contra Gileade, para aumentar seu território, eles fizeram muitas crueldades, matando à espada mulheres grávidas e seus futuros filhos.

Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Ammón, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque abrieron las preñadas de Galaad, para ensanchar su término.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

The LORD says: “For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.

Por causa disso, incendiarei as muralhas de Rabá e queimarei as suas fortalezas. Haverá gritos furiosos de combate, como o barulho do vento da tempestade.

Y encenderé fuego en el muro de Rabba, y consumirá sus palacios con estruendo en día de batalla, con tempestad en día tempestuoso:

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

O rei e os príncipes de Amom irão juntos para o exílio”, diz o Senhor.

Y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y sus príncipes todos, dice Jehová.

And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
