1Escucha esta palabra que el Señor ha dicho contra ti, hijos de Israel, contra toda la familia que saqué de la tierra de Egipto, diciendo:
2Solo a ti de todas las familias de la tierra me he escogido; por esta razón les enviaré castigo por todos sus pecados.
3¿Es posible que dos vayan caminando juntos, si no es por acuerdo?
4¿Un león dará su fuerte rugir en el bosque cuando no haya comida? ¿La voz del cachorro sonará desde su agujero si no ha apresado algo?
5¿Es posible que un pájaro sea llevado a una red sin haber cazador? ¿Se levantará la red de la tierra si no ha atrapado nada?
6Si suena la bocina en la ciudad, ¿no estará llena de miedo la gente? ¿vendrá el mal a una ciudad si el Señor no lo ha hecho?
7Ciertamente el Señor no hará nada sin dejar en claro su secreto a sus siervos, los profetas.
8Si suena el rugir del león; ¿Quién no tendrá miedo? El Señor Dios ha dicho la palabra; ¿Es posible que el profeta se calle?
9Proclamen las noticias en las grandes casas de Asdod y en la tierra de Egipto, y digan: Reúnase en las montañas de Samaria, y vean qué grandes tumultos hay en medio de ella, y qué actos crueles se hacen en ella.
10Porque no tienen conocimiento de cómo hacer lo correcto, dice el Señor, los que acumulan violencia y destrucción en sus palacios.
11Por esta razón, dice el Señor, vendrá un adversario, rodeándote en la tierra por todos lados; y tu fuerza caerá y tus palacios serán destruidos.
12Estas son las palabras del Señor: Como el criador de ovejas saca de la boca del león dos patas o parte de una oreja; así serán arrebatados los hijos de Israel, que descansan en Samaria en la esquina de una cama o en los cojines de seda de un sofá.
13Escucha ahora y da testimonio contra la familia de Jacob, dice el Señor Dios, el Dios de los ejércitos;
14Porque en el día en que yo castigue a Israel por sus pecados, enviaré castigo sobre los altares de Betel, y los cuernos del altar serán cortados y descenderán a la tierra.
15Y enviaré destrucción a la casa de invierno con la casa de verano; y también casas de marfil perecerán y los palacios serán destruidos, dice el Señor.

1OID esta palabra que ha hablado Jehová contra vosotros, hijos de Israel, contra toda la familia que hice subir de la tierra de Egipto. Dice así:
2A vosotros solamente he conocido de todas las familias de la tierra; por tanto visitaré contra vosotros todas vuestras maldades.
3¿Andarán dos juntos, si no estuvieren de concierto?
4¿Bramará el león en el monte sin hacer presa? ¿dará el leoncillo su bramido desde su morada, si no prendiere?
5¿Caerá el ave en el lazo en la tierra, sin haber armador? ¿alzaráse el lazo de la tierra, si no se ha prendido algo?
6¿Tocaráse la trompeta en la ciudad, y no se alborotará el pueblo? ¿habrá algún mal en la ciudad, el cual Jehová no haya hecho?
7Porque no hará nada el Señor Jehová, sin que revele su secreto á sus siervos los profetas.
8Bramando el león, ¿quién no temerá? hablando el Señor Jehová, ¿quién no profetizará?
9Haced pregonar sobre los palacios de Azoto, y sobre los palacios de tierra de Egipto, y decid: Reuníos sobre los montes de Samaria, y ved muchas opresiones en medio de ella, y violencias en medio de ella.
10Y no saben hacer lo recto, dice Jehová, atesorando rapiñas y despojos en sus palacios.
11Por tanto, el Señor Jehová ha dicho así: Un enemigo habrá aún por todos lados de la tierra, y derribará de ti tu fortaleza, y tus palacios serán saqueados.
12Así ha dicho Jehová: De la manera que el pastor libra de la boca del león dos piernas, ó la punta de una oreja, así escaparán los hijos de Israel que moran en Samaria en el rincón de la cama, y al canto del lecho.
13Oid y protestad en la casa de Jacob, ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos:
14Que el día que visitaré las rebeliones de Israel sobre él, visitaré también sobre los altares de Beth-el; y serán cortados los cuernos del altar, y caerán á tierra.
15Y heriré la casa del invierno con la casa del verano, y las casas de marfil perecerán; y muchas casas serán arruinadas, dice Jehová.

1Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
3Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
4Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
5Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
6Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
7Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
8The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
9Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
10For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
12Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
13Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,
14That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Beth-el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.

1Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying:
2“I have only chosen you of all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all of your sins.”
3Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?
4Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?
5Can a bird fall in a trap on the earth, where no snare is set for him? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when there is nothing to catch?
6Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and the LORD hasn’t done it?
7Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.
8The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken. Who can but prophesy?
9Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, and see what unrest is in her, and what oppression is among them.”
10“Indeed they don’t know to do right,” says the LORD, “Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.”
11Therefore the Lord GOD says: “An adversary will overrun the land; and he will pull down your strongholds, and your fortresses will be plundered.”
12The LORD says: “As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.”
13“Listen, and testify against the house of Jacob,” says the Lord GOD, the God of Armies.
14“For in the day that I visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel; and the horns of the altar will be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and the great houses will have an end,” says the LORD.
