Amós 4

1Ascoltate questa parola, vacche di Basan, che siete nella montagna di Samaria, che oppressate i miseri, che fiaccate i poveri, che dite a' vostri signori: Recate, acciocchè beviamo.
2Il Signore Iddio ha giurato per la sua santità, che ecco, i giorni vi vengono addosso, ch'egli vi trarrà fuori con uncini, e il vostro rimanente con ami da pescare.
3E voi uscirete per le rotture, ciascuna dirincontro a sè; e lascerete in abbandono i palazzi, dice il Signore.
4Venite pure in Betel, e commettete misfatto, moltiplicate i vostri misfatti in Ghilgal, e adducete ogni mattina i vostri sacrificii, e le vostre decime a' tre giorni.
5E fate ardere per profumo del pane levitato, per offerta di lode; e bandite a grida le offerte volontarie; poichè così amate di fare, o figliuoli d'Israele, dice il Signore Iddio.
6E benchè io vi abbia data nettezza di denti in tutte le vostre città, e mancamento di pane in tutti i luoghi vostri; non però vi siete convertiti a me, dice il Signore.
7E benchè io vi abbia divietata la pioggia, tre mesi intieri avanti la mietitura, ed abbia fatto piovere sopra una città, e non sopra l'altra; e un campo sia stato adacquato di pioggia, ed un altro, sopra il quale non è piovuto, sia seccato;
8e due, e tre città si sieno mosse verso una città, per bere dell'acqua, e non si sieno saziate; non però vi siete convertiti a me, dice il Signore.
9Io vi ho percossi di arsura, e di rubigine; le ruche hanno mangiata la moltitudine de' vostri giardini, e delle vostre vigne, e de' vostri fichi, e de' vostri ulivi; e pur voi non vi siete convertiti a me, dice il Signore.
10Io ho mandata fra voi la pestilenza, nella via di Egitto; io ho uccisi con la spada i vostri giovani, oltre alla presa de' vostri cavalli; ed ho fatto salire il puzzo de' vostri eserciti, fino alle vostre nari; e pur voi non vi siete convertiti a me, dice il Signore.
11Io vi ho sovvertit, come Iddio sovvertì Sodoma e Gomorra; e siete stati come un tizzone salvato da un incendio; e pur voi non vi siete convertiti a me, dice il Signore.
12Perciò, io ti farò così, o Israele; e perciocchè io ti farò questo, preparati allo scontro dell'Iddio tuo, o Israele.
13Perciocchè, ecco colui che ha formati i monti, e che crea il vento, e che dichiara all'uomo qual sia il suo pensiero; che fa dell'alba oscurità, e che cammina sopra gli alti luoghi della terra; il cui Nome è: Il Signore Iddio degli eserciti.

1OID esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que estáis en el monte de Samaria, que oprimís los pobres, que quebrantáis los menesterosos, que decís á sus señores: Traed, y beberemos.
2El Señor Jehová juró por su santidad: He aquí, vienen días sobre vosotros en que os llevará en anzuelos, y á vuestros descendientes en barquillos de pescador.
3Y saldrán por los portillos la una en pos de la otra, y seréis echadas del palacio, dice Jehová.
4Id á Beth-el, y prevaricad; en Gilgal aumentad la rebelión, y traed de mañana vuestros sacrificios, y vuestros diezmos cada tres años;
5Y ofreced sacrificio de alabanza con leudo, y pregonad, publicad voluntarias ofrendas; pues que así lo queréis, hijos de Israel, dice el Señor Jehová.
6Yo también os dí limpieza de dientes en todas vuestras ciudades, y falta de pan en todos vuestros pueblos: mas no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
7Y también yo os detuve la lluvia tres meses antes de la siega: é hice llover sobre una ciudad, y sobre otra ciudad no hice llover: sobre una parte llovió; la parte sobre la cual no llovió, secóse.
8Y venían dos ó tres ciudades á una ciudad para beber agua, y no se hartaban: con todo no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
9Os herí con viento solano y oruga; vuestros muchos huertos y vuestras viñas, y vuestros higuerales y vuestros olivares comió la langosta: pero nunca os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
10Envié entre vosotros mortandad al modo que en Egipto: maté á cuchillo vuestros mancebos, con cautiverio de vuestros caballos; é hice subir el hedor de vuestros reales hasta vuestras narices: empero no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
11Trastornéos, como cuando Dios trastornó á Sodoma y á Gomorra, y fuisteis como tizón escapado del fuego: mas no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
12Por tanto, de esta manera haré á ti, oh Israel: y porque te he de hacer esto, aparéjate para venir al encuentro á tu Dios, oh Israel.
13Porque he aquí, el que forma los montes, y cría el viento, y denuncia al hombre su pensamiento; el que hace á las tinieblas mañana, y pasa sobre las alturas de la tierra; Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, es su nombre.

1Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
2The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
3And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.
4Come to Beth-el, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
5And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
6And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
7And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
8So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
9I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
10I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
11I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
12Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

1Listen to this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who tell their husbands, “Bring us drinks!”
2The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness, “Behold, the days shall come on you that they will take you away with hooks, and the last of you with fish hooks.
3You will go out at the breaks in the wall, everyone straight before her; and you will cast yourselves into Harmon,” says the LORD.
4“Go to Bethel, and sin; to Gilgal, and sin more. Bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days,
5offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving of that which is leavened, and proclaim free will offerings and brag about them; for this pleases you, you children of Israel,” says the Lord GOD.
6“I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in every town; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
7“I also have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One field was rained on, and the field where it didn’t rain withered.
8So two or three cities staggered to one city to drink water, and were not satisfied; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
9“I struck you with blight and mildew many times in your gardens and your vineyards, and the swarming locusts have devoured your fig trees and your olive trees; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
10“I sent plagues among you like I did Egypt. I have slain your young men with the sword, and have carried away your horses. I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camp, yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
11“I have overthrown some of you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a burning stick plucked out of the fire; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
12“Therefore I will do this to you, Israel; because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, Israel.
13For, behold, he who forms the mountains, creates the wind, declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth: The LORD, the God of Armies, is his name.”
