Escúchenme «vacas gordas» de Basán, es decir, mujeres ricas de Samaria, que maltratan a los pobres y humillan a los necesitados, que les ordenan a sus esposos: «¡Tráigannos vino para emborracharnos!».
OID esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que estáis en el monte de Samaria, que oprimís los pobres, que quebrantáis los menesterosos, que decís á sus señores: Traed, y beberemos.
Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
Listen to this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who tell their husbands, “Bring us drinks!”
El Señor ha jurado por su santidad que vendrá el tiempo cuando a ustedes y a sus hijos les pondrán ganchos en sus narices, como si fueran reses, y se los llevarán cautivos lejos de aquí.
El Señor Jehová juró por su santidad: He aquí, vienen días sobre vosotros en que os llevará en anzuelos, y á vuestros descendientes en barquillos de pescador.
The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

Las sacarán de sus hermosas casas y las harán pasar una tras otra por los huecos de la muralla, hacia Hermón, como vacas que van al matadero. Lo ha dicho el Señor.
Y saldrán por los portillos la una en pos de la otra, y seréis echadas del palacio, dice Jehová.
And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.
You will go out at the breaks in the wall, everyone straight before her; and you will cast yourselves into Harmon,” says the LORD.
¡Adelante, vayan a Betel y a Guilgal a ofrecer sacrificios rituales a sus ídolos y aumenten así sus actos de maldad! ¡Ofrezcan sus sacrificios cada mañana y traigan sus diezmos dos veces por semana!
Id á Beth-el, y prevaricad; en Gilgal aumentad la rebelión, y traed de mañana vuestros sacrificios, y vuestros diezmos cada tres años;
Come to Beth-el, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
“Go to Bethel, and sin; to Gilgal, and sin more. Bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days,
¡Israelitas, no se olviden de sus ofrendas de gratitud! ¡Háganle saber a todo el mundo que ustedes sí dan ofrendas voluntarias! ¡Pues a ustedes les encanta que los aplaudan por esto! Lo ha dicho el Señor.
Y ofreced sacrificio de alabanza con leudo, y pregonad, publicad voluntarias ofrendas; pues que así lo queréis, hijos de Israel, dice el Señor Jehová.
And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

El Señor dice: «Yo les hice pasar hambre en todas sus ciudades, de modo que en ningún lugar había qué comer. Pero no sirvió de nada, pues ni por ello ustedes acudieron a mí para que los ayudara.
Yo también os dí limpieza de dientes en todas vuestras ciudades, y falta de pan en todos vuestros pueblos: mas no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in every town; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
»Les arruiné sus cosechas reteniendo la lluvia tres meses antes de la siega. Envié lluvia sobre una ciudad, pero no sobre otra. Mientras que la lluvia cayó sobre un campo, otro estaba seco y marchito.
Y también yo os detuve la lluvia tres meses antes de la siega: é hice llover sobre una ciudad, y sobre otra ciudad no hice llover: sobre una parte llovió; la parte sobre la cual no llovió, secóse.
And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
“I also have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One field was rained on, and the field where it didn’t rain withered.
La gente de dos o tres ciudades hacía un viaje agotador para obtener agua en una ciudad donde había llovido, sin embargo, no lograban saciar la sed. Pero no sirvió de nada esta amarga lección, pues ni por ello ustedes acudieron a mí para que los ayudara. Lo ha dicho el Señor.
Y venían dos ó tres ciudades á una ciudad para beber agua, y no se hartaban: con todo no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
So two or three cities staggered to one city to drink water, and were not satisfied; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
»Les envié vientos calientes del desierto, también plagas y langostas que acabaron con sus verduras, viñedos, higueras y olivares. Pero no sirvió de nada, pues tampoco por ello ustedes acudieron a mí para que los ayudara. Lo ha dicho el Señor.
Os herí con viento solano y oruga; vuestros muchos huertos y vuestras viñas, y vuestros higuerales y vuestros olivares comió la langosta: pero nunca os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I struck you with blight and mildew many times in your gardens and your vineyards, and the swarming locusts have devoured your fig trees and your olive trees; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
»Les envié plagas como las enviadas sobre Egipto. Maté a sus jóvenes en la guerra, junto con sus caballos. El hedor de los cadáveres era tan fuerte que se sentía en todo el país. Pero no sirvió de nada, pues ustedes ni por ello acudieron a mí para que los ayudara. Lo ha dicho el Señor.
Envié entre vosotros mortandad al modo que en Egipto: maté á cuchillo vuestros mancebos, con cautiverio de vuestros caballos; é hice subir el hedor de vuestros reales hasta vuestras narices: empero no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I sent plagues among you like I did Egypt. I have slain your young men with the sword, and have carried away your horses. I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camp, yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
»Les destruí algunas de sus ciudades, como lo hice con Sodoma y Gomorra; las que quedan son sólo como tizones arrebatados del fuego. Pero no sirvió de nada, pues ni siquiera por ello ustedes acudieron a mí para que los ayudara. Lo ha dicho el Señor.
Trastornéos, como cuando Dios trastornó á Sodoma y á Gomorra, y fuisteis como tizón escapado del fuego: mas no os tornasteis á mí, dice Jehová.
I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I have overthrown some of you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a burning stick plucked out of the fire; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says the LORD.
»Por lo tanto, israelitas, voy a castigarlos fuertemente. Así que prepárense para recibir mi castigo, pues no podrán escapar de él».
Por tanto, de esta manera haré á ti, oh Israel: y porque te he de hacer esto, aparéjate para venir al encuentro á tu Dios, oh Israel.
Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
“Therefore I will do this to you, Israel; because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, Israel.
Pues están tratando con Dios, quien formó las montañas e hizo los vientos y conoce hasta los pensamientos de cada ser humano. Él puede cambiar la mañana en oscuridad y aplastar las montañas debajo de sus pies. Su nombre es el Señor, el Dios Todopoderoso.
Porque he aquí, el que forma los montes, y cría el viento, y denuncia al hombre su pensamiento; el que hace á las tinieblas mañana, y pasa sobre las alturas de la tierra; Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, es su nombre.
For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
For, behold, he who forms the mountains, creates the wind, declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth: The LORD, the God of Armies, is his name.”
