Escuchad estas palabras con que voy a formar una lamentación sobre vosotros: La casa de Israel cayó, y no volverá más a levantarse.
OID esta palabra, porque yo levanto endecha sobre vosotros, casa de Israel.
Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
Listen to this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel:
La virgen (el florido reino) de Israel ha sido arrojada por tierra, y no hay quien la levante.
Cayó la virgen de Israel, no más podrá levantarse; dejada fué sobre su tierra, no hay quien la levante.
The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
“The virgin of Israel has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.”
Porque esto dice el Señor Dios: La ciudad de Israel de la cual salían mil hombres, quedará reducida a ciento, y aquella de la cual salían ciento, quedará reducida a diez, esto sucederá en la familia de Israel.
Porque así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: La ciudad que sacaba mil, quedará con ciento; y la que sacaba ciento, quedará con diez, en la casa de Israel.
For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
For the Lord GOD says: “The city that went out a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went out one hundred shall have ten left to the house of Israel.”
Pero el Señor dice a la casa de Israel: Buscadme y viviréis.
Empero así dice Jehová á la casa de Israel: Buscadme, y viviréis;
For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
For the LORD says to the house of Israel: “Seek me, and you will live;
Y no os cuidéis de Betel, ni vayáis a Gálgala, ni paséis por Bersabee, porque Gálgala será llevada al cautiverio, y Betel quedará vacía.
Y no busquéis á Beth-el ni entréis en Gilgal, ni paséis á Beer-seba: porque Gilgal será llevada en cautiverio, y Beth-el será deshecha.
But seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.
but don’t seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and don’t pass to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
Buscad al Señor, y tendréis vida, no sea que por desgracia arda como el fuego la casa de José, o Efraín, y devore a Betel sin que haya quien le apague.
Buscad á Jehová, y vivid; no sea que hienda, como fuego, á la casa de José, y la consuma, sin haber en Beth-el quien lo apague.
Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.
Seek the LORD, and you will live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be no one to quench it in Bethel.
¡Oh vosotros, que convertís el juicio en amargura de ajenjo, y echáis a rodar la justicia!,
Los que convierten en ajenjo el juicio, y dejan en tierra la justicia,
Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
You who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth!
buscad al que creó el Arturo y el Orión, al que cambia las tinieblas en la luz de la mañana, y el día en noche; al que llama las aguas del mar hacia lo alto, y las derrama después sobre la tierra, y cuyo nombre es el Señor.
Miren al que hace el Arcturo y el Orión, y las tinieblas vuelve en mañana, y hace oscurecer el día en noche; el que llama á las aguas de la mar, y las derrama sobre la haz de la tierra: Jehová es su nombre:
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the LORD is his name,
A aquel que como por juguete derriba al suelo los valientes, y hace que sean entregados al saqueo los poderosos.
Que da esfuerzo al despojador sobre el fuerte, y que el despojador venga contra la fortaleza.
That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
who brings sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the fortress.
Aborrecieron los de la casa de Israel al que los amonestaba en los concursos públicos, y han abominado que les hablaba en mi Nombre la verdad.
Ellos aborrecieron en la puerta al reprensor, y al que hablaba lo recto abominaron.
They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks blamelessly.
Por tanto, ya que vosotros despojabais al pobre, le quitabais lo mejor que tenía, edificaréis casas de piedra de sillería, mas no las habitaréis; y plantaréis viñas excelentes, pero no llegaréis a beber su vino.
Por tanto, pues que vejáis al pobre y recibís de él carga de trigo; edificasteis casas de sillares, mas no las habitaréis; plantasteis hermosas viñas, mas no beberéis el vino de ellas.
Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
Therefore, because you trample on the poor and take taxes from him of wheat, you have built houses of cut stone, but you will not dwell in them. You have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.
Porque tengo sabidas vuestras muchas maldades y vuestros escandalosos delitos. Enemigos sois de la justicia, codiciosos de recibir dones, opresores de los pobres en los tribunales.
Porque sabido he vuestras muchas rebeliones, y vuestros grandes pecados: que afligen al justo, y reciben cohecho, y á los pobres en la puerta hacen perder su causa.
For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
For I know how many are your offenses, and how great are your sins— you who afflict the just, who take a bribe, and who turn away the needy in the courts.
Por este motivo el prudente callará en aquel tiempo, porque es tiempo aciago.
Por tanto, el prudente en tal tiempo calla, porque el tiempo es malo.
Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.

Buscad el bien, no el mal, a fin de que tengáis vida; y así estará con vosotros el Señor Dios de los ejércitos, como decís que está.
Buscad lo bueno, y no lo malo, para que viváis; porque así Jehová Dios de los ejércitos será con vosotros, como decís.
Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Aborreced el mal, y amad el bien, y restableced la justicia en el foro; y el Señor Dios de los ejércitos tendrá tal vez misericordia de los restos del linaje de José.
Aborreced el mal, y amad el bien, y poned juicio en la puerta: quizá Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, tendrá piedad del remanente de José.
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that the LORD, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”
Por tanto, esto dice el Señor Dios de los ejércitos, el Dominador del mundo: En todas las plazas habrá lamentos, y en todos los lugares fuera de la ciudad se oirán ayes; y serán convidados los labradores a llorar, y a hacer el duelo los que saben plañir.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, el Señor: En todas las plazas habrá llanto, y en todas las calles dirán, ¡Ay! ¡ay! y al labrador llamarán á lloro, y á endecha á los que endechar supieren.
Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
Therefore the LORD, the God of Armies, the Lord, says: “Wailing will be in all the wide ways. They will say in all the streets, ‘Alas! Alas!’ They will call the farmer to mourning, and those who are skillful in lamentation to wailing.
Y en todas las viñas se oirán lamentos, porque yo pasaré por en medio de vosotros, dice el Señor.
Y en todas las viñas habrá llanto; porque pasaré por medio de ti, dice Jehová.
And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
In all vineyards there will be wailing, for I will pass through the middle of you,” says the LORD.
¡Ay de aquellos que por mofa desean el día del Señor! ¿Por qué lo deseáis? Día de tinieblas será aquel para vosotros, y no de luz.
¡Ay de los que desean el día de Jehová! ¿para qué queréis este día de Jehová? Será de tinieblas, y no luz:
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
“Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light.
Os sucederá lo que a un hombre que huyendo de la vista de un león diere con un oso; o entrando en su casa, al apoyarse con su mano en la pared, fuese mordido de una culebra.
Como el que huye de delante del león, y se topa con el oso; ó si entrare en casa y arrimare su mano á la pared, y le muerda la culebra.
As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.
¿Por ventura aquel día del Señor no será día de tinieblas, y no de luz; y no reinará en él una suma oscuridad, sin rastro de resplandor?
¿No será el día de Jehová tinieblas, y no luz; oscuridad, que no tiene resplandor?
Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

Yo aborrezco y desecho vuestras festividades, y no me es agradable el olor de los sacrificios en vuestras reuniones.
Aborrecí, abominé vuestras solemnidades, y no me darán buen olor vuestras asambleas.
I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

Y cuando vosotros me presentareis vuestros holocaustos y dones, yo no los aceptaré, ni volveré mi vista hacia las gordas víctimas que me ofreceréis en voto.
Y si me ofreciereis holocaustos y vuestros presentes, no los recibiré; ni miraré á los pacíficos de vuestros engordados.
Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

Lejos de mí vuestros tumultuosos o estrepitosos himnos; yo no escucharé las canciones al son de vuestra lira;
Quita de mí la multitud de tus cantares, que no escucharé las salmodias de tus instrumentos.
Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
Take away from me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
sino que la venganza mía se derramará como agua, y la justicia cual torrente impetuoso.
Antes corra el juicio como las aguas, y la justicia como impetuoso arroyo.
But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
¿Por ventura, ¡oh casa de Israel!, me ofrecisteis vosotros, durante los cuarenta años en el desierto, gran multitud de hostias y sacrificios?
¿Habéisme ofrecido sacrificios y presentes en el desierto en cuarenta años, casa de Israel?
Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
“Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?
Vosotros llevabais el tabernáculo de vuestro dios Moloc, y los simulacros de vuestros ídolos, la estrella de vuestro dios Saturno, hechuras de vuestras manos.
Mas llevabais el tabernáculo de vuestro Moloch y Chiún, ídolos vuestros, la estrella de vuestros dioses que os hicisteis.
But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
You also carried the tent of your king and the shrine of your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.
Yo haré, pues, que seáis transportados más allá de Damasco a la Asiria, dice el Señor, el Señor cuyo nombre es Dios de los ejércitos.
