Foi isto que o Senhor, o Soberano, me mostrou em uma visão: Ele estava preparando uma grande nuvem de gafanhotos para destruir todas as plantações que haviam crescido depois da primeira colheita que pertence ao rei.
ASÍ me ha mostrado el Señor Jehová: y he aquí, él criaba langostas al principio que comenzaba á crecer el heno tardío; y he aquí, era el heno tardío después de las siegas del rey.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s harvest.
Os gafanhotos devoraram tudo o que se podia ver de verde na terra. Então eu clamei: “Senhor Soberano, por favor, perdoe o seu povo! Não mande essa praga contra eles! Se o Senhor se voltar contra Jacó, que esperança haverá para eles? Israel é uma nação muito pequena!”
Y acaeció que como acabó de comer la hierba de la tierra, yo dije: Señor Jehová, perdona ahora; ¿quién levantará á Jacob? porque es pequeño.
And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
When they finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, “Lord GOD, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”
Assim, o Senhor abandonou essa ideia e não cumpriu a visão e disse: “Não vou fazer isso”.
Arrepintióse Jehová de esto: No será, dijo Jehová.
The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.
The LORD relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” says the LORD.
Então o Soberano, o Senhor, me mostrou um grande fogo que havia preparado para castigar os moradores de Israel; o fogo tinha secado os rios e mares, e devorado toda a terra.
El Señor Jehová me mostró así: y he aquí, llamaba para juzgar por fuego el Señor Jehová; y consumió un gran abismo, y consumió una parte de la tierra.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.
Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, the Lord GOD called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land.
Vendo isso, eu disse: “Senhor Deus, por favor, não faça isso. Se o Senhor se voltar contra Israel, que esperança haverá para eles? Israel é uma nação muito pequena!”
Y dije: Señor Jehová, cesa ahora; ¿quién levantará á Jacob? porque es pequeño.
Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
Then I said, “Lord GOD, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”
Assim, o Senhor também abandonou essa ideia e respondeu: “Também não vou fazer isso”.
Arrepintióse Jehová de esto: No será esto tampoco, dijo el Señor Jehová.
The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.
The LORD relented concerning this. “This also shall not be,” says the Lord GOD.
Depois o Senhor me mostrou o seguinte: O Senhor estava de pé, ao lado de um muro construído com um prumo, verificando, com um fio de prumo, se o muro estava perfeito.
Enseñóme así: he aquí, el Señor estaba sobre un muro hecho á plomo, y en su mano una plomada de albañil.
Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.
Thus he showed me: behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.
Então, o Senhor me perguntou: “Amós, o que você está vendo?” E eu respondi: “Um fio de prumo”. Ele me disse: “Eu vou medir o meu povo Israel com o prumo. Não vou mais adiar o castigo.
Jehová entonces me dijo: ¿Qué ves, Amós? Y dije: Una plomada de albañil. Y el Señor dijo: He aquí, yo pongo plomada de albañil en medio de mi pueblo Israel: no le pasaré más:
And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
The LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.
Os lugares altos em que os descendentes de Isaque adoravam serão destruídos, e eu destruirei a família real de Jeroboão, por meio da guerra”.
Y los altares de Isaac serán destruídos, y los santuarios de Israel serán asolados; y levantaréme con espada sobre la casa de Jeroboam.
And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
The high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”
Quando Amazias, o sacerdote de Betel, ouviu o que Amós estava dizendo, enviou uma mensagem ao rei Jeroboão: “Amós é um traidor de nosso país e está planejando matar o senhor. Isso é intolerável. Vai provocar uma revolta em todo o país.
Entonces Amasías sacerdote de Beth-el envió á decir á Jeroboam, rey de Israel: Amós se ha conjurado contra ti en medio de la casa de Israel: la tierra no puede sufrir todas sus palabras.
Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the middle of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.
Amós está dizendo o seguinte: ‘Jeroboão será morto à espada, e certamente o povo de Israel será levado para o exílio, para um país distante’ ”.
Porque así ha dicho Amós: Jeroboam morirá á cuchillo, é Israel pasará de su tierra en cautiverio.
For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
For Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”
Em seguida, Amazias mandou uma ordem a Amós: “Vá embora daqui, ó profeta! Fuja para a terra de Judá e ganhe o seu pão por lá.
Y Amasías dijo á Amós: Vidente, vete, y huye á tierra de Judá, y come allá tu pan, y profetiza allí:
Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there,
Não venha nos incomodar aqui, em Betel, com as suas visões, pois este é o santuário do rei e a casa do reino!”
Y no profetices más en Beth-el, porque es santuario del rey, y cabecera del reino.
But prophesy not again any more at Beth-el: for it is the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court.
but don’t prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a royal house!”
Amós respondeu a Amazias: “Eu não sou um profeta, nem nasci em uma família de profetas. Sou apenas um boiadeiro e cultivador de sicômoros.
Entonces respondió Amós, y dijo á Amasías: No soy profeta, ni soy hijo de profeta, sino que soy boyero, y cogedor de cabrahigos:
Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs;
Mas o Senhor me tirou de junto dos rebanhos e me ordenou: ‘Vá e profetize para o meu povo, Israel’.
Y Jehová me tomó de tras el ganado, y díjome Jehová: Ve, y profetiza á mi pueblo Israel.
And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’
Por isso, ouça esta mensagem que o Senhor manda para você. Você ordena: ‘Não profetize contra Israel, e pare de pregar contra a descendência de Isaque’.
Ahora pues, oye palabra de Jehová. Tú dices: No profetices contra Israel, ni hables contra la casa de Isaac:
Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
Now therefore listen to the LORD’s word: ‘You say, Don’t prophesy against Israel, and don’t preach against the house of Isaac.’
“Mas esta é a resposta do Senhor: ‘Sua esposa se tornará uma prostituta nesta cidade, e os seus filhos e filhas serão mortos e a sua terra dividida entre estranhos. Você morrerá numa terra estranha, e o povo de Israel, certamente, será levado para o exílio, longe de sua terra natal’ ”.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: Tu mujer fornicará en la ciudad, y tus hijos y tus hijas caerán á cuchillo, y tu tierra será partida por suertes; y tú morirás en tierra inmunda, é Israel será traspasado de su tierra.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
Therefore the LORD says: ‘Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”
