1Paulus, Apostel Christi Jesu durch Gottes Willen, und Timotheus, der Bruder,
2den heiligen und treuen Brüdern in Christo, die in Kolossä sind: Gnade euch und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, [und dem Herrn Jesus Christus]!
3Wir danken dem Gott und Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus allezeit, indem wir für euch beten,
4nachdem wir gehört haben von eurem Glauben in Christo Jesu und der Liebe, die ihr zu allen Heiligen habt,
5wegen der Hoffnung, die für euch aufgehoben ist in den Himmeln, von welcher ihr zuvor gehört habt in dem Worte der Wahrheit des Evangeliums,
6das zu euch gekommen, so wie es auch in der ganzen Welt ist, und ist fruchtbringend und wachsend, wie auch unter euch, von dem Tage an, da ihr es gehört und die Gnade Gottes in Wahrheit erkannt habt;
7so wie ihr gelernt habt von Epaphras, unserem geliebten Mitknecht, der ein treuer Diener des Christus für euch ist,
8der uns auch eure Liebe im Geiste kundgetan hat.
9Deshalb hören auch wir nicht auf, von dem Tage an, da wir es gehört haben, für euch zu beten und zu bitten, auf daß ihr erfüllt sein möget mit der Erkenntnis seines Willens in aller Weisheit und geistlichem Verständnis,
10um würdig des Herrn zu wandeln zu allem Wohlgefallen, in jedem guten Werke fruchtbringend, und wachsend durch die Erkenntnis Gottes,
11gekräftigt mit aller Kraft nach der Macht seiner Herrlichkeit, zu allem Ausharren und aller Langmut mit Freuden;
12danksagend dem Vater, der uns fähig gemacht hat zu dem Anteil am Erbe der Heiligen in dem Lichte,
13der uns errettet hat aus der Gewalt der Finsternis und versetzt in das Reich des Sohnes seiner Liebe,
14in welchem wir die Erlösung haben, die Vergebung der Sünden;
15welcher das Bild des unsichtbaren Gottes ist, der Erstgeborene aller Schöpfung.
16Denn durch ihn sind alle Dinge geschaffen worden, die in den Himmeln und die auf der Erde, die sichtbaren und die unsichtbaren, es seien Throne oder Herrschaften oder Fürstentümer oder Gewalten: alle Dinge sind durch ihn und für ihn geschaffen.
17Und er ist vor allen, und alle Dinge bestehen zusammen durch ihn.
18Und er ist das Haupt des Leibes, der Versammlung, welcher der Anfang ist, der Erstgeborene aus den Toten, auf daß er in allem den Vorrang habe;
19denn es war das Wohlgefallen der ganzen Fülle, in ihm zu wohnen
20und durch ihn alle Dinge mit sich zu versöhnen indem er Frieden gemacht hat durch das Blut seines Kreuzes, durch ihn, es seien die Dinge auf der Erde oder die Dinge in den Himmeln.
21Und euch, die ihr einst entfremdet und Feinde waret nach der Gesinnung in den bösen Werken, hat er aber nun versöhnt
22in dem Leibe seines Fleisches durch den Tod, um euch heilig und tadellos und unsträflich vor sich hinzustellen,
23wenn ihr anders in dem Glauben gegründet und fest bleibet und nicht abbewegt werdet von der Hoffnung des Evangeliums, welches ihr gehört habt, das gepredigt worden in der ganzen Schöpfung, die unter dem Himmel ist, dessen Diener ich, Paulus, geworden bin.
24Jetzt freue ich mich in den Leiden für euch und ergänze in meinem Fleische, was noch rückständig ist von den Drangsalen des Christus für seinen Leib, das ist die Versammlung,
25deren Diener ich geworden bin nach der Verwaltung Gottes, die mir in Bezug auf euch gegeben ist, um das Wort Gottes zu vollenden:
26das Geheimnis, welches von den Zeitaltern und von den Geschlechtern her verborgen war, jetzt aber seinen Heiligen geoffenbart worden ist,
27denen Gott kundtun wollte, welches der Reichtum der Herrlichkeit dieses Geheimnisses sei unter den Nationen, welches ist Christus in euch, die Hoffnung der Herrlichkeit;
28den wir verkündigen, indem wir jeden Menschen ermahnen und jeden Menschen lehren in aller Weisheit, auf daß wir jeden Menschen vollkommen in Christo darstellen;
29wozu ich mich auch bemühe, indem ich kämpfend ringe gemäß seiner Wirksamkeit, die in mir wirkt in Kraft.

1PABLO, apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo,
2A los santos y hermanos fieles en Cristo que están en Colosas: Gracia y paz á vosotros de Dios Padre nuestro, y del Señor Jesucristo.
3Damos gracias al Dios y Padre del Señor nuestro Jesucristo, siempre orando por vosotros:
4Habiendo oído vuestra fe en Cristo Jesús, y el amor que tenéis á todos los santos,
5A causa de la esperanza que os está guardada en los cielos, de la cual habéis oído ya por la palabra verdadera del evangelio:
6El cual ha llegado hasta vosotros, como por todo el mundo; y fructifica y crece, como también en vosotros, desde el día que oísteis y conocisteis la gracia de Dios en verdad,
7Como habéis aprendido de Epafras, nuestro consiervo amado, el cual es un fiel ministro de Cristo á favor vuestro;
8El cual también nos ha declarado vuestro amor en el Espíritu.
9Por lo cual también nosotros, desde el día que lo oímos, no cesamos de orar por vosotros, y de pedir que seáis llenos del conocimiento de su voluntad, en toda sabiduría y espiritual inteligencia;
10Para que andéis como es digno del Señor, agradándole en todo, fructificando en toda buena obra, y creciendo en el conocimiento de Dios:
11Corroborados de toda fortaleza, conforme á la potencia de su gloria, para toda tolerancia y largura de ánimo con gozo;
12Dando gracias al Padre que nos hizo aptos para participar de la suerte de los santos en luz:
13Que nos ha librado de la potestad de las tinieblas, y trasladado al reino de su amado Hijo;
14En el cual tenemos redención por su sangre, la remisión de pecados:
15El cual es la imagen del Dios invisible, el primogénito de toda criatura.
16Porque por él fueron criadas todas las cosas que están en los cielos, y que están en la tierra, visibles é invisibles; sean tronos, sean dominios, sean principados, sean potestades; todo fué criado por él y para él.
17Y él es antes de todas las cosas, y por él todas las cosas subsisten:
18Y él es la cabeza del cuerpo que es la iglesia; él que es el principio, el primogénito de los muertos, para que en todo tenga el primado.
19Por cuanto agradó al Padre que en él habitase toda plenitud,
20Y por él reconciliar todas las cosas á sí, pacificando por la sangre de su cruz, así lo que está en la tierra como lo que está en los cielos.
21A vosotros también, que erais en otro tiempo extraños y enemigos de ánimo en malas obras, ahora empero os ha reconciliado
22En el cuerpo de su carne por medio de muerte, para haceros santos, y sin mancha, é irreprensibles delante de él:
23Si empero permanecéis fundados y firmes en la fe, y sin moveros de la esperanza del evangelio que habéis oído; el cual es predicado á toda criatura que está debajo del cielo; del cual yo Pablo soy hecho ministro.
24Que ahora me gozo en lo que padezco por vosotros, y cumplo en mi carne lo que falta de las aflicciones de Cristo por su cuerpo, que es la iglesia;
25De la cual soy hecho ministro, según la dispensación de Dios que me fué dada en orden á vosotros, para que cumpla la palabra de Dios;
26A saber, el misterio que había estado oculto desde los siglos y edades, mas ahora ha sido manifestado á sus santos:
27A los cuales quiso Dios hacer notorias las riquezas de la gloria de este misterio entre los Gentiles; que es Cristo en vosotros la esperanza de gloria:
28El cual nosotros anunciamos, amonestando á todo hombre, y enseñando en toda sabiduría, para que presentemos á todo hombre perfecto en Cristo Jesús:
29En lo cual aun trabajo, combatiendo según la operación de él, la cual obra en mí poderosamente.

1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
2To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
9For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
24Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:
25Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

4having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have toward all the saints,
5because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News
6which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,
7even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on your behalf,
8who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
9For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,
11strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,
12giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,
13who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,

23if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, was made a servant.
24Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,
25of which I was made a servant according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you to fulfill the word of God,
26the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints,
27to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
28We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;
29for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.
