Nach Verlauf von Jahren aber werden sie sich verbünden; und die Tochter des Königs des Südreichs wird zu dem Könige des Nordreichs ziehen, um ein friedliches Verhältnis zu schaffen; doch dies Hilfsmittel wird sich nicht als wirksam erweisen, und seine Arme werden nicht standhalten, sondern sie wird preisgegeben werden mitsamt ihrem Gefolge und ihrem Kinde und dem, der sie sich seinerzeit als Gattin zugesellt hatte.

Por lo cual se enfurecerá el rey del mediodía, y saldrá, y peleará con el mismo rey del norte; y pondrá en campo gran multitud, y toda aquella multitud será entregada en su mano.
And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
“The king of the south will be moved with anger and will come out and fight with him, even with the king of the north. He will send out a great multitude, and the multitude will be given into his hand.
und trotz seiner Größe vernichtet werden. Dadurch wird sein Sinn stolz werden, und wenn er auch Zehntausende zu Boden streckt, wird er doch nicht die Oberhand behalten.

And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.

Der König des Nordreichs wird nämlich nochmals ein Heer aufstellen, größer als das vorige, und nach Ablauf von Zeiten von Jahren mit starker und wohlgerüsteter Heeresmacht aufs neue kommen.
Y el rey del norte volverá á poner en campo mayor multitud que primero, y á cabo del tiempo de años vendrá á gran priesa con grande ejército y con muchas riquezas.
For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
The king of the north will return, and will send out a multitude greater than the former. He will come on at the end of the times, even of years, with a great army and with abundant supplies.
Zu derselben Zeit werden viele gegen den König des Südreichs aufstehen; auch aus deinem Volk werden sich gewalttätige Leute erheben, um die Weissagung in Erfüllung gehen zu lassen, werden aber zu Fall kommen.
Y en aquellos tiempos se levantarán muchos contra el rey del mediodía; é hijos de disipadores de tu pueblo se levantarán para confirmar la profecía, y caerán.
And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.

So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
So the king of the north will come and cast up a mound, and take a well-fortified city. The forces of the south won’t stand, neither will his select troops, neither will there be any strength to stand.

Dann wird er sein Augenmerk darauf richten, das ganze Reich jenes in seine Gewalt zu bringen, indem er einen Vertrag mit ihm schließt und ihm eine junge Tochter zur Frau gibt, um (das Land) zugrunde zu richten; aber es wird nicht zustande kommen und ihm nicht gelingen.

He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.

Hierauf wird er sein Augenmerk auf die Festungen seines Landes richten, dabei aber straucheln und zu Fall kommen und für immer verschwinden.

Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.

An seine Stelle wird dann ein anderer treten, der einen Gelderpresser durch das Prachtland seines Reiches ziehen läßt; doch schon nach einigen Tagen wird er unschädlich gemacht, und zwar weder durch Zorn noch durch Krieg.«
Entonces sucederá en su silla uno que hará pasar exactor por la gloria del reino; mas en pocos días será quebrantado, no en enojo, ni en batalla.
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.

»An seiner Statt wird dann ein verworfener Mensch auftreten, dem die königliche Würde nicht zugedacht war; aber er wird unversehens kommen und sich der Herrschaft durch Ränke bemächtigen.

And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

denn sogleich nach seiner Befreundung mit ihm wird er Trug üben und heranziehen und trotz seiner geringen Streitkräfte Macht gewinnen.
Y después de los conciertos con él, él hará engaño, y subirá, y saldrá vencedor con poca gente.
And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
After the treaty made with him he will work deceitfully; for he will come up and will become strong with few people.
Unversehens wird er in die fettesten Gegenden einer Landschaft einfallen und Dinge verüben, die weder seine Väter noch die Väter seiner Väter verübt haben; Raub, Beute und Güter wird er verschwenderisch unter sie verteilen und gegen feste Plätze seine Anschläge richten, allerdings nur eine Zeitlang.
Estando la provincia en paz y en abundancia, entrará y hará lo que no hicieron sus padres, ni los padres de sus padres; presa, y despojos, y riquezas repartirá á sus soldados; y contra las fortalezas formará sus designios: y esto por tiempo.
He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
In time of security he will come even on the fattest places of the province. He will do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers. He will scatter among them prey, plunder, and wealth. Yes, he will devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time.
Hierauf wird er seine Macht und seinen Mut gegen den König des Südreichs aufbieten mit einem großen Heer; und der König des Südreichs wird mit großer und überaus starker Heeresmacht in den Krieg ziehen, jedoch nicht standhalten; denn man wird Anschläge gegen ihn ersinnen,
Y despertará sus fuerzas y su corazón contra el rey del mediodía con grande ejército: y el rey del mediodía se moverá á la guerra con grande y muy fuerte ejército; mas no prevalecerá, porque le harán traición.
And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
“He will stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south will wage war in battle with an exceedingly great and mighty army, but he won’t stand; for they will devise plans against him.
und die eigenen Tischgenossen werden seinen Untergang herbeiführen: sein Heer wird weggeschwemmt, und viele Erschlagene werden fallen.
Aun los que comerán su pan, le quebrantarán; y su ejército será destruído, y caerán muchos muertos.
Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.

Die beiden Könige aber werden im Herzen auf Arglist sinnen und an einem Tische (speisend oder: sitzend) sich gegenseitig belügen; doch wird es nicht gelingen, denn das Ende steht noch aus bis zu der (von Gott) bestimmten Zeit.

And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

Darauf wird er mit großem Reichtum in sein Land zurückkehren, sein Herz aber wird gegen den heiligen Bund gerichtet sein; er wird (den Plan) auch ausführen und dann in sein Land zurückkehren.
Y volveráse á su tierra con grande riqueza, y su corazón será contra el pacto santo: hará pues, y volveráse á su tierra.
Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

Zur bestimmten Zeit wird er dann wieder gegen das Südreich ziehen, doch wird es dieses zweite Mal nicht so gehen wie zuerst;

At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
“He will return at the appointed time and come into the south; but it won’t be in the latter time as it was in the former.
denn Schiffe aus Kitthim werden sich ihm entgegenstellen, so daß er den Mut verliert; da wird er umkehren und seinen Grimm an dem heiligen Bunde auslassen und nach der Heimkehr sein Augenmerk auf die richten, welche vom heiligen Bunde abfallen.«

»Da werden dann Truppen von ihm (entsandt) dastehen und das Heiligtum, die Burg, entweihen; das tägliche Opfer werden sie abschaffen und den Greuel der Verwüstung aufstellen.

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
He will corrupt those who do wickedly against the covenant by flatteries; but the people who know their God will be strong and take action.
Und die Verständigen unter dem Volk werden gar viele zum Aufmerken bringen, aber durch Schwert und Feuer, durch Gefängnis und Ausplünderung eine Zeitlang niedergehalten werden.
Y los sabios del pueblo darán sabiduría á muchos: y caerán á cuchillo y á fuego, en cautividad y despojo, por días.
And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
“Those who are wise among the people will instruct many; yet they will fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder, many days.
Bei diesem ihrem Unterliegen wird ihnen zwar eine kleine Hilfe zuteil werden, aber viele werden sich ihnen nur aus Heuchelei anschließen.

Y algunos de los sabios caerán para ser purgados, y limpiados, y emblanquecidos, hasta el tiempo determinado: porque aun para esto hay plazo.
And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

Auch um die Götter seiner Väter wird er sich nicht kümmern und weder dem Lieblingsgott der Frauen noch irgendeinem anderen Gott Beachtung schenken, sondern über alle sich erheben.
Y del Dios de sus padres no se cuidará, ni del amor de las mujeres: ni se cuidará de dios alguno, porque sobre todo se engrandecerá.
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

An ihrer Stelle wird er den Gott der Burgen verehren, und einen Gott, den seine Väter nicht gekannt haben, wird er mit Gold und Silber, mit Edelsteinen und Kleinodien ehren.

In die festen Plätze wird er Kriegsvolk des fremden Gottes legen; wer diesen anerkennt, den wird er mit Ehren überhäufen und ihnen Gewalt über viele verleihen und zur Belohnung Land unter sie verteilen.
Y con el dios ajeno que conocerá, hará á los baluartes de Mauzim crecer en gloria: y harálos enseñorear sobre muchos, y por interés repartirá la tierra.
Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
