Y ahora yo te mostraré la verdad. He aquí que aun habrá tres reyes en Persia, y el cuarto se hará de grandes riquezas más que todos; y fortificándose con sus riquezas, despertará á todos contra el reino de Javán.
And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

Luego un poderoso rey gobernará sobre un gran reino y cumplirá todo lo que se propone.

»”El rey del sur será muy poderoso, pero uno de sus oficiales llegará a ser más poderoso que él y gobernará su reino con más fuerza.

Varios años más tarde, una alianza será formada entre el rey del norte y el rey del sur. La hija del rey del sur se casará con el rey del norte, para que haya paz entre los dos reinos; pero ella no se quedará con el poder por mucho tiempo, ni tampoco el rey. Ella será traicionada junto con su esposo, su hijo y sus criados.
Y al cabo de años se concertarán, y la hija del rey del mediodía vendrá al rey del norte para hacer los conciertos. Empero ella no podrá retener la fuerza del brazo: ni permanecerá él, ni su brazo; porque será entregada ella, y los que la habían traído, asimismo su hijo, y los que estaban de parte de ella en aquel tiempo.
And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
At the end of years they will join themselves together; and the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make an agreement, but she will not retain the strength of her arm. »”Pero cuando uno de sus familiares llegue a ser rey del sur, enviará un ejército contra el rey del norte y su fortaleza real, y el rey del sur saldrá victorioso.
Mas del renuevo de sus raíces se levantará uno sobre su silla, y vendrá con ejército, y entrará en la fortaleza del rey del norte, y hará en ellos á su arbitrio, y predominará.
But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
“But out of a shoot from her roots one will stand up in his place, who will come to the army and will enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and will deal against them and will prevail.
Cuando vuelva a Egipto se llevará consigo los ídolos de ellos, además de platos valiosos de oro y plata como botín, y por algunos años dejará tranquilo al rey del norte.
Y aun los dioses de ellos, con sus príncipes, con sus vasos preciosos de plata y de oro, llevará cautivos á Egipto: y por años se mantendrá él contra el rey del norte.
And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.

Tiempo después el rey del norte invadirá los dominios del rey del sur, pero se verá obligado a regresar a su tierra.

So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.

Pero los hijos del rey del norte prepararán un gran ejército para la guerra que, como si fuera una inundación, avanzará arrasando con todo a su paso, y llegará hasta la fortaleza enemiga.
Mas los hijos de aquél se airarán, y reunirán multitud de grandes ejércitos: y vendrá á gran priesa, é inundará, y pasará, y tornará, y llegará con ira hasta su fortaleza.
But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
His sons will wage war, and will assemble a multitude of great forces which will come on, and overflow, and pass through. They will return and wage war, even to his fortress.
»”El rey del sur, enfurecido, saldrá a luchar contra el rey del norte y lo derrotará, a pesar de que este tendrá un poderoso ejército.
Por lo cual se enfurecerá el rey del mediodía, y saldrá, y peleará con el mismo rey del norte; y pondrá en campo gran multitud, y toda aquella multitud será entregada en su mano.
And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
“The king of the south will be moved with anger and will come out and fight with him, even with the king of the north. He will send out a great multitude, and the multitude will be given into his hand.
Después de su triunfo, el rey del sur se llenará de orgullo y matará a muchos de sus enemigos, pero su victoria no durará mucho tiempo.
Y la multitud se ensoberbecerá, elevaráse su corazón, y derribará muchos millares; mas no prevalecerá.
And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
The multitude will be carried off, and his heart will be exalted. He will cast down tens of thousands, but he won’t prevail.
Pocos años más tarde el rey del norte regresará a atacar al rey del sur, con un ejército armado hasta los dientes, mucho más poderoso que el que había perdido.
Y el rey del norte volverá á poner en campo mayor multitud que primero, y á cabo del tiempo de años vendrá á gran priesa con grande ejército y con muchas riquezas.
For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
The king of the north will return, and will send out a multitude greater than the former. He will come on at the end of the times, even of years, with a great army and with abundant supplies.
»”En ese tiempo muchos se rebelarán contra el rey del sur. Entre ellos habrá algunos hombres malvados de Israel, tu pueblo, pero no saldrán victoriosos, tal como se mostró en la visión.
Y en aquellos tiempos se levantarán muchos contra el rey del mediodía; é hijos de disipadores de tu pueblo se levantarán para confirmar la profecía, y caerán.
And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
“In those times many will stand up against the king of the south. Also the children of the violent among your people will lift themselves up to establish the vision, but they will fall.
El rey del norte vendrá y construirá rampas alrededor de la ciudad fortificada para poder escalar las murallas y la conquistará. Ni las mejores tropas del sur podrán detener a las tropas enemigas.
Vendrá pues el rey del norte, y fundará baluartes, y tomará la ciudad fuerte; y los brazos del mediodía no podrán permanecer, ni su pueblo escogido, ni habrá fortaleza que pueda resistir.
So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
So the king of the north will come and cast up a mound, and take a well-fortified city. The forces of the south won’t stand, neither will his select troops, neither will there be any strength to stand.
El rey del norte hará lo que se le antoje, pues nadie podrá hacerle frente, y se quedará en la tierra privilegiada de Israel, destruyendo todo.
Y el que vendrá contra él, hará á su voluntad, ni habrá quien se le pueda parar delante; y estará en la tierra deseable, la cual será consumida en su poder.
But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
But he who comes against him will do according to his own will, and no one will stand before him. He will stand in the glorious land, and destruction will be in his hand.
El rey del norte se preparará para atacar con todo el poder de su reino. Para eso hará una alianza con el rey del sur, y le dará a su hija como esposa, para que por medio de ese enlace pueda destruir su reino; pero sus planes no tendrán éxito.
Pondrá luego su rostro para venir con el poder de todo su reino; y hará con aquél cosas rectas, y darále una hija de mujeres para trastornarla: mas no estará ni será por él.
He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
He will set his face to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and with him equitable conditions. He will perform them. He will give him the daughter of women, to destroy the kingdom, but she will not stand, and won’t be for him.
Después atacará a las ciudades que están en la costa, y conquistará muchas de ellas. Pero un general, de otra tierra, pondrá fin a su arrogancia y lo hará quedar en ridículo.
Volverá después su rostro á las islas, y tomará muchas; mas un príncipe le hará parar su afrenta, y aun tornará sobre él su oprobio.
After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
After this he will turn his face to the islands, and will take many, but a prince will cause the reproach offered by him to cease. Yes, moreover, he will cause his reproach to turn on him.
Desde allí el rey del norte regresará a la fortaleza de su país, pero sufrirá una desgracia y no se volverá a saber nada de él.
Luego volverá su rostro á las fortalezas de su tierra: mas tropezará y caerá, y no parecerá más.
Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
Then he will turn his face toward the fortresses of his own land; but he will stumble and fall, and won’t be found.
»”Su lugar será ocupado por un rey que será recordado como el rey que envió un cobrador de impuestos para mantener la abundancia del reino, pero después de un reinado muy breve morirá, no como resultado de una batalla o de una revuelta.
Entonces sucederá en su silla uno que hará pasar exactor por la gloria del reino; mas en pocos días será quebrantado, no en enojo, ni en batalla.
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
“Then one who will cause a tax collector to pass through the kingdom to maintain its glory will stand up in his place; but within few days he shall be destroyed, not in anger, and not in battle.
»”Después de él reinará un hombre despreciable, un usurpador al que no le correspondía ser rey, pero que cuando la gente esté más segura, tomará el trono por medio de engaños.
Y sucederá en su lugar un vil, al cual no darán la honra del reino: vendrá empero con paz, y tomará el reino con halagos.
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
“In his place a contemptible person will stand up, to whom they had not given the honor of the kingdom; but he will come in time of security, and will obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
Destruirá por completo a los ejércitos que estén en su contra, y también al príncipe del pacto.
Y con los brazos de inundación serán inundados delante de él, y serán quebrantados; y aun también el príncipe del pacto.
And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
The overwhelming forces will be overwhelmed from before him, and will be broken. Yes, also the prince of the covenant.
Sus promesas no tendrán ningún valor. Desde el principio el método que empleará será el engaño. Con sólo un puñado de seguidores, se volverá fuerte.
Y después de los conciertos con él, él hará engaño, y subirá, y saldrá vencedor con poca gente.
And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
After the treaty made with him he will work deceitfully; for he will come up and will become strong with few people.
Cuando nadie se lo espere, entrará en las tierras más ricas de las provincias y hará lo que ninguno de sus antepasados hizo. Repartirá entre sus seguidores los bienes y las riquezas obtenidas en al guerra, y hará planes para atacar las ciudades fortificadas, aunque por poco tiempo.
Estando la provincia en paz y en abundancia, entrará y hará lo que no hicieron sus padres, ni los padres de sus padres; presa, y despojos, y riquezas repartirá á sus soldados; y contra las fortalezas formará sus designios: y esto por tiempo.
He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
In time of security he will come even on the fattest places of the province. He will do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers. He will scatter among them prey, plunder, and wealth. Yes, he will devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time.
»”Animado por su poder y valor, atacará al rey del sur con un gran ejército, pero no podrá resistir los ataques del ejército enemigo, además de que lo traicionarán.
Y despertará sus fuerzas y su corazón contra el rey del mediodía con grande ejército: y el rey del mediodía se moverá á la guerra con grande y muy fuerte ejército; mas no prevalecerá, porque le harán traición.
And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
“He will stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south will wage war in battle with an exceedingly great and mighty army, but he won’t stand; for they will devise plans against him.
Los mismos que comían con él en su mesa provocarán su ruina, pues su ejército será derrotado por completo y muchos morirán en batalla.
Aun los que comerán su pan, le quebrantarán; y su ejército será destruído, y caerán muchos muertos.
Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
Yes, those who eat of his delicacies will destroy him, and his army will be swept away. Many will fall down slain.
»”Entonces los dos reyes estarán pensando en hacerse daño el uno al otro en la mesa de negociación, procurando engañarse mutuamente. Pero no importará, pues ninguno de los dos podrá tener éxito hasta que haya llegado el tiempo determinado por Dios.
Y el corazón de estos dos reyes será para hacer mal, y en una misma mesa tratarán mentira: mas no servirá de nada, porque el plazo aun no es llegado.
And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
As for both these kings, their hearts will be to do evil, and they will speak lies at one table; but it won’t prosper, for the end will still be at the appointed time.
El rey del norte regresará a su tierra con grandes riquezas, y en su camino se pondrá en contra de Israel, el pueblo del pacto sagrado. Llevará a cabo sus planes y luego volverá a su país.
Y volveráse á su tierra con grande riqueza, y su corazón será contra el pacto santo: hará pues, y volveráse á su tierra.
Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
Then he will return into his land with great wealth. His heart will be against the holy covenant. He will take action, and return to his own land.
»”Cuando llegue el momento, él invadirá otra vez el sur, pero ahora el resultado será diferente.
Al tiempo señalado tornará al mediodía; mas no será la postrera venida como la primera.
At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
“He will return at the appointed time and come into the south; but it won’t be in the latter time as it was in the former.
Los barcos de guerra de las costas del oeste lo harán huir de terror. Entonces el rey del norte descargará su odio contra el pueblo de Israel, premiando a los que abandonaron el pacto.
Porque vendrán contra él naves de Chîttim, y él se contristará, y se volverá, y enojaráse contra el pacto santo, y hará: volveráse pues, y pensará en los que habrán desamparado el santo pacto.
For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.

Su ejército profanará la fortaleza del templo, suspenderá el sacrificio ritual diario y pondrá allí una humillante abominación que causa destrucción.
Y serán puestos brazos de su parte; y contaminarán el santuario de fortaleza, y quitarán el continuo sacrificio, y pondrán la abominación espantosa.
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
“Forces from him will profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and will take away the continual burnt offering. Then they will set up the abomination that makes desolate.
El rey tratará de ganarse con halagos a los que renieguen del pacto; pero el pueblo que conoce a su Dios será fuerte y no se dejará deslumbrar por los halagos.
Y con lisonjas hará pecar á los violadores del pacto: mas el pueblo que conoce á su Dios, se esforzará, y hará.
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
He will corrupt those who do wickedly against the covenant by flatteries; but the people who know their God will be strong and take action.
»”Los sabios instruirán a mucha gente, pero luego a estos maestros los matarán atravesándolos con espadas filosas o los quemarán o los tomarán como esclavos y les despojarán de todos sus bienes.
Y los sabios del pueblo darán sabiduría á muchos: y caerán á cuchillo y á fuego, en cautividad y despojo, por días.
And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
“Those who are wise among the people will instruct many; yet they will fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder, many days.
Cuando todas estas persecuciones ocurran, recibirán un poco de ayuda, aunque muchos de los que se les unirán no serán sinceros.
Y en su caer serán ayudados de pequeño socorro: y muchos se juntarán á ellos con lisonjas.
Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

Algunos de los sabios que instruían al pueblo también serán perseguidos, para que por medio de la prueba sean purificados y perfeccionados, hasta que llegue el momento señalado.
Y algunos de los sabios caerán para ser purgados, y limpiados, y emblanquecidos, hasta el tiempo determinado: porque aun para esto hay plazo.
And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

»”El rey del norte hará lo que se le antoje. Estará tan orgulloso de sí mismo, que se creerá superior a todos los dioses, y dirá cosas horribles contra el Dios de dioses. Y tendrá éxito hasta que la cólera de Dios lo alcance, porque lo que debe pasar pasará.
Y el rey hará á su voluntad; y se ensoberbecerá, y se engrandecerá sobre todo dios: y contra el Dios de los dioses hablará maravillas, y será prosperado, hasta que sea consumada la ira: porque hecha está determinación.
And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
“The king will do according to his will. He will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and will speak marvelous things against the God of gods. He will prosper until the indignation is accomplished, for that which is determined will be done.
No tendrá consideración por los dioses de sus padres, ni por el dios amado por las mujeres, ni por cualquier otro dios, porque él se creerá superior a todos ellos.
Y del Dios de sus padres no se cuidará, ni del amor de las mujeres: ni se cuidará de dios alguno, porque sobre todo se engrandecerá.
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
He won’t regard the gods of his fathers, or the desire of women, or regard any god; for he will magnify himself above all.
En vez de estos dioses, él adorará al dios de las fortalezas, un dios que sus padres jamás conocieron, y le ofrecerá oro, plata, piedras preciosas y costosos regalos.
Mas honrará en su lugar al dios Mauzim, dios que sus padres no conocieron: honrarálo con oro, y plata, y piedras preciosas, y con cosas de gran precio.
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
But in their place, he will honor the god of fortresses. He will honor a god whom his fathers didn’t know with gold, silver, and with precious stones and pleasant things.
Con la ayuda de dioses extranjeros, atacará las fortalezas más poderosas, y les hará honores a los que lo reconozcan, los pondrá en puestos importantes y les dará tierras como recompensa.
Y con el dios ajeno que conocerá, hará á los baluartes de Mauzim crecer en gloria: y harálos enseñorear sobre muchos, y por interés repartirá la tierra.
Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
He will deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign god. He will increase with glory whoever acknowledges him. He will cause them to rule over many, and will divide the land for a price.
»”Cuando llegue el tiempo final, el rey del sur atacará al rey del norte, pero este responderá a su ataque como una tormenta, con carros, caballos y barcos de guerra. Invadirá muchos países y los acabará como si fuera una inundación.
Empero al cabo del tiempo el rey del mediodía se acorneará con él; y el rey del norte levantará contra él como tempestad, con carros y gente de á caballo, y muchos navíos; y entrará por las tierras, é inundará, y pasará.
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

En el camino invadirá varias tierras, incluyendo Israel, la tierra gloriosa, y derrocará los gobiernos de muchas naciones. Moab, Edom y la mayor parte de Amón escaparán,
Y vendrá á la tierra deseable, y muchas provincias caerán; mas éstas escaparán de su mano: Edom, y Moab, y lo primero de los hijos de Ammón.
He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

pero Egipto y muchas otras tierras no escaparán.
Asimismo extenderá su mano á las otras tierras, y no escapará el país de Egipto.
He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

Se llevarán el oro, la plata y todos los tesoros de Egipto, y los libios y etíopes serán sus esclavos.
