Daniel 1

Knaben, die nicht gebrechlich wären, sondern schöne, vernünftige, weise, kluge und verständige, die da geschickt wären, zu dienen in des Königs Hofe und zu lernen chaldäische Schrift und Sprache.

EN el año tercero del reinado de Joacim rey de Judá, vino Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia á Jerusalem, y cercóla.

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

Solchen verschaffte der König, was man ihnen täglich geben sollte von seiner Speise und von dem Wein, den er selbst trank, daß sie, also drei Jahre auferzogen, danach vor dem Könige dienen sollten.

Y el Señor entregó en sus manos á Joacim rey de Judá, y parte de los vasos de la casa de Dios, y trájolos á tierra de Sinar, á la casa de su dios: y metió los vasos en la casa del tesoro de su dios.

And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

Unter welchen waren Daniel, Hananja, Misael und Asarja von den Kindern Judas.

Y dijo el rey á Aspenaz, príncipe de sus eunucos, que trajese de los hijos de Israel, del linaje real de los príncipes,

And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes;

The king spoke to Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in some of the children of Israel, even of the royal offspring and of the nobles:

Und der oberste Kämmerer gab ihnen Namen und nannte Daniel Beltsazar und Hananja Sadrach und Misael Mesach und Asarja Abed-Nego.

Muchachos en quienes no hubiese tacha alguna, y de buen parecer, y enseñados en toda sabiduría, y sabios en ciencia, y de buen entendimiento, é idóneos para estar en el palacio del rey; y que les enseñase las letras y la lengua de los Caldeos.

Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

youths in whom was no defect, but well-favored, skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding science, and who had the ability to stand in the king’s palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.

Aber Daniel setzte ihm vor in seinem Herzen, daß er sich mit des Königs Speise und mit dem Wein, den er selbst trank, nicht verunreinigen wollte, und bat den obersten Kämmerer, daß er sich nicht müßte verunreinigen.

Y señalóles el rey ración para cada día de la ración de la comida del rey, y del vino de su beber: que los criase tres años, para que al fin de ellos estuviesen delante del rey.

And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

Und Gott gab Daniel, daß ihm der oberste Kämmerer günstig und gnädig ward.

Derselbe sprach zu ihm: Ich fürchte mich vor meinem HERRN, dem Könige, der euch eure Speise und Trank verschaffet hat; wo er würde sehen, daß eure Angesichte jämmerlicher wären denn der andern Knaben eures Alters, so brächtet ihr mich bei dem Könige um mein Leben.

A los cuales el príncipe de los eunucos puso nombres: y puso á Daniel, Beltsasar; y á Ananías, Sadrach; y á Misael, Mesach; y á Azarías, Abed-nego.

Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abed-nego.

The prince of the eunuchs gave names to them: to Daniel he gave the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

Da sprach Daniel zu Melzar, welchem der oberste Kämmerer Daniel, Hananja, Misael und Asarja befohlen hatte:

Y Daniel propuso en su corazón de no contaminarse en la ración de la comida del rey, ni en el vino de su beber: pidió por tanto al príncipe de los eunucos de no contaminarse.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

(Y puso Dios á Daniel en gracia y en buena voluntad con el príncipe de los eunucos.)

Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

Und laß dann vor dir unsere Gestalt und der Knaben, so von des Königs Speise essen, besehen; und danach du sehen wirst, danach schaffe mit deinen Knechten.

Y dijo el príncipe de los eunucos á Daniel: Tengo temor de mi señor el rey, que señaló vuestra comida y vuestra bebida; pues luego que él habrá visto vuestros rostros más tristes que los de los muchachos que son semejantes á vosotros, condenaréis para con el rey mi cabeza.

And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

The prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink. For why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths who are of your own age? Then you would endanger my head with the king.”

Und er gehorchte ihnen darin und versuchte es mit ihnen zehn Tage.

Entonces dijo Daniel á Melsar, que estaba puesto por el príncipe de los eunucos sobre Daniel, Ananías, Misael, y Azarías:

Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

Und nach den zehn Tagen waren sie schöner und baß bei Leibe denn alle Knaben, so von des Königs Speise aßen.

Prueba, te ruego, tus siervos diez días, y dennos legumbres á comer, y agua á beber.

Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

“Test your servants, I beg you, ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.

Da tat Melzar ihre verordnete Speise und Trank weg und gab ihnen Gemüse.

Parezcan luego delante de ti nuestros rostros, y los rostros de los muchachos que comen de la ración de la comida del rey; y según que vieres, harás con tus siervos.

Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

Then let our faces be examined before you, and the face of the youths who eat of the king’s delicacies; and as you see, deal with your servants.”

Aber der Gott dieser vier gab ihnen Kunst und Verstand in allerlei Schrift und Weisheit; Daniel aber gab er Verstand in allen Gesichten und Träumen.

Consintió pues con ellos en esto, y probó con ellos diez días.

So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days.

Und da die Zeit um war, die der König bestimmt hatte, daß sie sollten hineingebracht werden, brachte sie der oberste Kämmerer hinein vor Nebukadnezar.

Y al cabo de los diez días pareció el rostro de ellos mejor y más nutrido de carne, que los otros muchachos que comían de la ración de la comida del rey.

And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.

At the end of ten days, their faces appeared fairer and they were fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate of the king’s delicacies.

Und der König redete mit ihnen, und ward unter allen niemand erfunden, der Daniel, Hananja, Misael und Asarja gleich wäre. Und sie wurden des Königs Diener.

Así fué que Melsar tomaba la ración de la comida de ellos, y el vino de su beber, y dábales legumbres.

Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.

So the steward took away their delicacies and the wine that they were given to drink, and gave them vegetables.

Und der König fand sie in allen Sachen, die er sie fragte, zehnmal klüger und verständiger denn alle Sternseher und Weisen in seinem ganzen Reich.

Y á estos cuatro muchachos dióles Dios conocimiento é inteligencia en todas letras y ciencia: mas Daniel tuvo entendimiento en toda visión y sueños.

As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Und Daniel lebte bis ins erste Jahr des Königs Kores.

Pasados pues los días al fin de los cuales había dicho el rey que los trajesen, el príncipe de los eunucos los trajo delante de Nabucodonosor.

Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

Im andern Jahr des Reichs Nebukadnezars hatte Nebukadnezar einen Traum, davon er erschrak, daß er aufwachte.

Y el rey habló con ellos, y no fué hallado entre todos ellos otro como Daniel, Ananías, Misael, y Azarías: y así estuvieron delante del rey.

And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.

Und er hieß alle Sternseher, und Weisen und Zauberer und Chaldäer zusammenfordern, daß sie dem Könige seinen Traum sagen sollten. Und sie kamen und traten vor den König.

Y en todo negocio de sabiduría é inteligencia que el rey les demandó, hallólos diez veces mejores que todos los magos y astrólogos que había en todo su reino.

And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters who were in all his realm.

Und der König sprach zu ihnen: Ich habe einen Traum gehabt, der hat mich erschreckt; und ich wollte gerne wissen, was es für ein Traum gewesen sei.

Y fué Daniel hasta el año primero del rey Ciro.

And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.
