Daniel 2

Im zweiten Jahre seiner Regierung hatte Nebukadnezar einen bedeutungsvollen Traum, durch den er innerlich beunruhigt wurde, so daß es um seinen Schlaf geschehen war.

Y EN el segundo año del reinado de Nabucodonosor, soñó Nabucodonosor sueños, y perturbóse su espíritu, y su sueño se huyó de él.

And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams; and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep went from him.

Da befahl der König, man solle die Gelehrten und Beschwörer, die Zauberer und Chaldäer berufen, damit sie ihm Auskunft über sein Traumgesicht gäben. Als sie nun gekommen und vor den König getreten waren,

Y mandó el rey llamar magos, astrólogos, y encantadores, y Caldeos, para que mostrasen al rey sus sueños. Vinieron pues, y se presentaron delante del rey.

Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

sagte dieser zu ihnen: »Ich habe einen Traum gehabt und fühle mich nun beunruhigt durch das Verlangen, den Traum zu verstehen.«

Y el rey les dijo: He soñado un sueño, y mi espíritu se ha perturbado por saber del sueño.

And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

Da antworteten die Chaldäer dem Könige auf Aramäisch: »O König, mögest du ewig leben! Teile deinen Knechten den Traum mit, dann wollen wir dir die Deutung angeben!«

Entonces hablaron los Caldeos al rey en lengua aramea: Rey, para siempre vive: di el sueño á tus siervos, y mostraremos la declaración.

Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in the Syrian language, “O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.”

Darauf gab der König den Chaldäern zur Antwort: »Mein Entschluß steht unwiderruflich fest: wenn ihr mir den Traum und seine Deutung nicht anzugeben wißt, so sollt ihr in Stücke zerhauen und eure Häuser sollen in Schutthaufen verwandelt werden;

Respondió el rey y dijo á los Caldeos: El negocio se me fué: si no me mostráis el sueño y su declaración, seréis hechos cuartos, y vuestras casas serán puestas por muladares.

The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

wenn ihr mir aber den Traum und seine Deutung kundtun könnt, so sollt ihr reiche Geschenke und große Ehre von mir erhalten. Tut mir also den Traum und seine Deutung kund!«

Y si mostrareis el sueño y su declaración, recibiréis de mí dones y mercedes y grande honra: por tanto, mostradme el sueño y su declaración.

But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

Da antworteten sie zum zweitenmal: »Der König wolle seinen Knechten den Traum mitteilen, dann werden wir die Deutung angeben.«

Respondieron la segunda vez, y dijeron: Diga el rey el sueño á sus siervos, y mostraremos su declaración.

They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

Darauf erwiderte der König: »Ich erkenne klar, daß ihr nur Zeit gewinnen wollt, weil ihr seht, daß mein Entschluß in dieser Sache feststeht:

El rey respondió, y dijo: Yo conozco ciertamente que vosotros ponéis dilaciones, porque veis que el negocio se me ha ido.

The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

wenn ihr mir demnach den Traum nicht angeben könnt, so verbleibt es bei eurer Verurteilung; ihr habt euch nämlich verabredet, Lug und Trug vor mir zu reden, bis die Verhältnisse sich ändern. Darum gebt mir den Traum an, damit ich erkenne, daß ihr mir auch seine Deutung anzugeben vermögt!«

Si no me mostráis el sueño, una sola sentencia será de vosotros. Ciertamente preparáis respuesta mentirosa y perversa que decir delante de mí, entre tanto que se muda el tiempo: por tanto, decidme el sueño, para que yo entienda que me podéis mostrar su declaración.

But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

Da erwiderten die Chaldäer dem König: »Es gibt in der ganzen Welt keinen Menschen, der dem Verlangen des Königs nachkommen könnte, wie denn auch noch nie ein König, so groß und mächtig er sein mochte, ein derartiges Verlangen an irgendeinen Wahrsager oder Beschwörer oder Chaldäer gestellt hat.

Los Caldeos respondieron delante del rey, y dijeron: No hay hombre sobre la tierra que pueda declarar el negocio del rey: demás de esto, ningún rey, príncipe, ni señor, preguntó cosa semejante á ningún mago, ni astrólogo, ni Caldeo.

The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

The Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on the earth who can show the king’s matter, because no king, lord, or ruler has asked such a thing of any magician, enchanter, or Chaldean.

Was der König verlangt, ist zu schwer, und es gibt keinen anderen, der dem Könige Auskunft darüber zu geben vermöchte, außer den Göttern, die ja aber nicht bei den sterblichen Menschen wohnen.«

Finalmente, el negocio que el rey demanda, es singular, ni hay quien lo pueda declarar delante del rey, salvo los dioses cuya morada no es con la carne.

And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

Hierüber wurde der König aufgebracht und geriet in solche Wut, daß er den Befehl gab, alle Weisen in Babylon hinzurichten.

Por esto el rey con ira y con grande enojo, mandó que matasen á todos los sabios de Babilonia.

For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

Als nun der Befehl ergangen war, die Weisen zu töten, sollten auch Daniel und seine Genossen ums Leben gebracht werden.

Y publicóse el mandamiento, y los sabios eran llevados á la muerte; y buscaron á Daniel y á sus compañeros para matarlos.

And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

So the decree went out, and the wise men were to be slain. They sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.

Da wandte sich Daniel in kluger und verständiger Weise an Arioch, den Obersten der königlichen Leibwache, der zur Hinrichtung der Weisen in Babylon ausgezogen war;

Entonces Daniel habló avisada y prudentemente á Arioch, capitán de los de la guarda del rey, que había salido para matar los sabios de Babilonia.

Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

Then Daniel returned answer with counsel and prudence to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon.

er richtete nämlich an Arioch, den Bevollmächtigten des Königs, die Frage: »Warum ist ein so strenger Befehl vom Könige erlassen?« Als Arioch hierauf dem Daniel den Sachverhalt mitgeteilt hatte,

Habló y dijo á Arioch capitán del rey: ¿Qué es la causa que este mandamiento se publica de parte del rey tan apresuradamente? Entonces Arioch declaró el negocio á Daniel.

He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

He answered Arioch the king’s captain, “Why is the decree so urgent from the king?” Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

begab sich Daniel in den Palast und erbat sich vom Könige die Gewährung einer Frist, um dem Könige dann die Deutung zu geben.

Y Daniel entró, y pidió al rey que le diese tiempo, y que él mostraría al rey la declaración.

Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

Hierauf begab sich Daniel in seine Wohnung und teilte seinen Freunden Hananja, Misael und Asarja die Sachlage mit,

auf daß sie den Gott des Himmels um Erbarmen in betreff dieses Geheimnisses anflehen möchten, damit Daniel und seine Freunde nicht samt den übrigen Weisen von Babylon hingerichtet würden.

Para demandar misericordias del Dios del cielo sobre este misterio, y que Daniel y sus compañeros no pereciesen con los otros sabios de Babilonia.

That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

Darauf wurde dem Daniel in einem Nachtgesicht das Geheimnis enthüllt. Da pries Daniel den Gott des Himmels,

Entonces el arcano fué revelado á Daniel en visión de noche; por lo cual bendijo Daniel al Dios del cielo.

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

indem er so betete: »Gepriesen werde der Name Gottes von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Denn er besitzt beides, Weisheit und Macht.

Y Daniel habló, y dijo: Sea bendito el nombre de Dios de siglo hasta siglo: porque suya es la sabiduría y la fortaleza:

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

Er ist’s, der die Zeiten und Verhältnisse wechseln läßt, der Könige absetzt und Könige einsetzt, der den Weisen Weisheit verleiht und den Verständigen Verstand;

And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding.

er ist’s, der das Verborgene und Geheime enthüllt; er kennt, was im Finstern liegt, und das Licht wohnt bei ihm.

El revela lo profundo y lo escondido: conoce lo que está en tinieblas, y la luz mora con él.

He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

Dich, den Gott meiner Väter, rühme und preise ich, daß du mir Weisheit und Tüchtigkeit verliehen und mir jetzt geoffenbart hast, was wir von dir erfleht haben; denn die Sache des Königs hast du uns kundgetan.«

A ti, oh Dios de mis padres, confieso y te alabo, que me diste sabiduría y fortaleza, y ahora me enseñaste lo que te pedimos; pues nos has enseñado el negocio del rey.

I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”

Deshalb begab sich Daniel zu Arioch, den der König mit der Hinrichtung der Weisen in Babylon beauftragt hatte; er ging hin und sagte zu ihm: »Richte die Weisen von Babylon nicht hin! Führe mich hinein vor den König: ich will dem Könige die Deutung (des Traumes) kundtun!«

Después de esto Daniel entró á Arioch, al cual el rey había puesto para matar á los sabios de Babilonia; fué, y díjole así: No mates á los sabios de Babilonia: llévame delante del rey, que yo mostraré al rey la declaración.

Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said this to him: “Don’t destroy the wise men of Babylon. Bring me in before the king, and I will show to the king the interpretation.”

Da führte Arioch den Daniel eiligst hinein vor den König und sagte zu diesem: »Ich habe unter den in der Verbannung hier lebenden Judäern einen Mann gefunden, der dem Könige die Deutung geben will.«

Entonces Arioch llevó prestamente á Daniel delante del rey, y díjole así: Un varón de los trasportados de Judá he hallado, el cual declarará al rey la interpretación.

Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said this to him: “I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Judah who will make known to the king the interpretation.”

Da antwortete der König und sagte zu Daniel, der den Namen Beltsazar führte: »Bist du wirklich imstande, mir den Traum, den ich gesehen habe, nebst seiner Deutung kundzutun?«

Respondió el rey, y dijo á Daniel, al cual llamaban Beltsasar: ¿Podrás tú hacerme entender el sueño que vi, y su declaración?

The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

The king answered Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”

Daniel gab dem Könige folgende Antwort: »Das Geheimnis, das der König zu wissen verlangt, können Weise und Beschwörer, Zauberer und Wahrsager dem Könige nicht kundtun;

Daniel respondió delante del rey, y dijo: El misterio que el rey demanda, ni sabios, ni astrólogos, ni magos, ni adivinos lo pueden enseñar al rey.

Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

Daniel answered before the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded can’t be shown to the king by wise men, enchanters, magicians, or soothsayers;

aber es gibt einen Gott im Himmel, welcher Geheimnisse enthüllt; und dieser hat dem Könige Nebukadnezar kundgetan, was in der Endzeit geschehen wird. Dein Traum und die Gesichte, die dir auf deinem Lager vor Augen gestanden haben, sind folgende gewesen:

Mas hay un Dios en los cielos, el cual revela los misterios, y él ha hecho saber al rey Nabucodonosor lo que ha de acontecer á cabo de días. Tu sueño, y las visiones de tu cabeza sobre tu cama, es esto:

But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head on your bed are these:

Dir, o König, stiegen auf deinem Lager Gedanken darüber auf, was wohl in der Zukunft geschehen würde; und da hat der, welcher die Geheimnisse enthüllt, dir kundgetan, was geschehen wird.

Tú, oh rey, en tu cama subieron tus pensamientos por saber lo que había de ser en lo por venir; y el que revela los misterios te mostró lo que ha de ser.

As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

“As for you, O king, your thoughts came on your bed, what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen.

Mir aber ist dieses Geheimnis nicht infolge eigener Weisheit, als ob diese bei mir in höherem Maße als bei allen anderen Lebenden vorhanden wäre, geoffenbart worden, sondern zu dem Zweck, daß dem Könige die Deutung kundgetan würde und du Aufschluß über die Gedanken deines Herzens erhieltest.

Y á mí ha sido revelado este misterio, no por sabiduría que en mí haya más que en todos los vivientes, sino para que yo notifique al rey la declaración, y que entendieses los pensamientos de tu corazón.

But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

Du, o König, hattest ein Gesicht und sahst eine Bildsäule; diese Bildsäule war gewaltig groß und von außerordentlichem Glanz; sie stand vor dir, und ihr Aussehen war erschrecklich.

Tú, oh rey, veías, y he aquí una grande imagen. Esta imagen, que era muy grande, y cuya gloria era muy sublime, estaba en pie delante de ti, y su aspecto era terrible.

Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

“You, O king, saw, and behold, a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its appearance was terrifying.

Das Haupt dieser Bildsäule war von feinem Gold, ihre Brust und ihre Arme von Silber, ihr Unterleib und ihre Hüften von Kupfer,

La cabeza de esta imagen era de fino oro; sus pechos y sus brazos, de plata; su vientre y sus muslos, de metal;

This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its chest and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze,

ihre Beine von Eisen, ihre Füße teils von Eisen teils von Töpferton.

Sus piernas de hierro; sus pies, en parte de hierro, y en parte de barro cocido.

His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

Du warst im Anschauen versunken, bis ein Stein sich plötzlich vom Berge ohne Zutun einer Menschenhand loslöste; der traf die Bildsäule an ihre eisernen und tönernen Füße und zertrümmerte sie.

Estabas mirando, hasta que una piedra fué cortada, no con mano, la cual hirió á la imagen en sus pies de hierro y de barro cocido, y los desmenuzó.

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

Da wurden auf einen Schlag das Eisen und der Ton, das Kupfer, das Silber und das Gold zertrümmert und zerstoben wie die Spreu im Sommer auf den Tennen, und der Wind verwehte sie, so daß keine Spur mehr von ihnen zu finden war. Der Stein aber, der die Bildsäule zerschmettert hatte, wurde zu einem großen Berge, der die ganze Erde erfüllte.«

Entonces fué también desmenuzado el hierro, el barro cocido, el metal, la plata y el oro, y se tornaron como tamo de las eras del verano: y levantólos el viento, y nunca más se les halló lugar. Mas la piedra que hirió á la imagen, fué hecha un gran monte, que hinchió toda la tierra.

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

»Das ist der Traum; nun wollen wir auch seine Deutung dem Könige vortragen:

Este es el sueño: la declaración de él diremos también en presencia del rey.

This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

Du, o König, du König der Könige, dem der Gott des Himmels die königliche Herrschaft und die Macht, die Gewalt und die Ehre verliehen

Tú, oh rey, eres rey de reyes; porque el Dios del cielo te ha dado reino, potencia, y fortaleza, y majestad.

Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the glory.

und in dessen Hand er überall, wo Menschen wohnen, alle Menschen und Tiere des Feldes und Vögel des Himmels gegeben hat, so daß du als Herrscher über sie alle gebietest: du bist das goldene Haupt.

Y todo lo que habitan hijos de hombres, bestias del campo, y aves del cielo, él ha entregado en tu mano, y te ha hecho enseñorear sobre todo ello: tú eres aquella cabeza de oro.

And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

Wherever the children of men dwell, he has given the animals of the field and the birds of the sky into your hand, and has made you rule over them all. You are the head of gold.

Nach dir wird ein anderes Reich erstehen, das nicht so mächtig ist wie das deinige, und dann noch ein anderes drittes Reich von Kupfer, das über die ganze Erde herrschen wird.

Y después de ti se levantará otro reino menor que tú; y otro tercer reino de metal, el cual se enseñoreará de toda la tierra.

And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

“After you, another kingdom will arise that is inferior to you; and another third kingdom of bronze, which will rule over all the earth.

Darauf wird ein viertes Reich da sein, stark wie Eisen; und wie das Eisen alles zermalmt und zertrümmert, ebenso wird es wie zerschmetterndes Eisen jene alle zermalmen und zertrümmern.

Y el reino cuarto será fuerte como hierro; y como el hierro desmenuza y doma todas las cosas, y como el hierro que quebranta todas estas cosas, desmenuzará y quebrantará.

And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

The fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, it will break in pieces and crush.

Daß du aber die Füße und Zehen teils aus Töpferton, teils aus Eisen bestehend gesehen hast, (dies zeigt an, daß) es ein Reich von ungleicher Beschaffenheit sein wird; einerseits wird es etwas von der Festigkeit des Eisens an sich haben, insofern du ja Eisen mit Tonerde vermischt geschaut hast;

Y lo que viste de los pies y los dedos, en parte de barro cocido de alfarero, y en parte de hierro, el reino será dividido; mas habrá en él algo de fortaleza de hierro, según que viste el hierro mezclado con el tiesto de barro.

doch daß du die Zehen der Füße teils von Eisen, teils von Ton gesehen hast, (weist darauf hin, daß) das Reich zum Teil fest, zum Teil brüchig sein wird.

entsprechend dem, was du gesehen hast, daß nämlich ein Stein sich von dem Berge ohne Zutun einer Menschenhand loslöste und das Eisen, das Kupfer, den Ton, das Silber und das Gold zerschmetterte. Ein großer Gott hat dem Könige kundgetan, was in der Zukunft sich ereignen wird: der Traum verdient vollen Glauben, und seine Deutung ist zuverlässig.«

Da warf der König Nebukadnezar sich auf sein Angesicht nieder, verneigte sich tief vor Daniel und ließ ihm Opfergaben und Räucherwerk darbringen.

Auf Daniels Bitte übertrug der König dann dem Sadrach, Mesach und Abed-Nego die Verwaltung der Landschaft Babylon, während Daniel selbst am königlichen Hofe verblieb.
