Há um homem em teu reino que tem o espírito dos santos deuses. Nos dias de teu pai, foram encontrados nele luz, entendimento e sabedoria como a sabedoria dos deuses. O rei Nabucodonosor, teu pai, fez dele chefe dos magos, assim como chefe dos adivinhos, dos sábios e dos astrólogos.
En tu reino hay un varón, en el cual mora el espíritu de los dioses santos; y en los días de tu padre se halló en él luz é inteligencia y sabiduría, como ciencia de los dioses: al cual el rey Nabucodonosor, tu padre, el rey tu padre constituyó príncipe sobre todos los magos, astrólogos, Caldeos, y adivinos:
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;

Neste Daniel, ao qual o rei pôs o nome de Beltessazar, foram encontrados um espírito excelente, conhecimento, entendimento para interpretar sonhos, explicar enigmas e resolver problemas. Agora, chama Daniel e ele te dirá o significado do que está escrito".
Por cuanto fué hallado en él mayor espíritu, y ciencia, y entendimiento, interpretando sueños, y declarando preguntas, y deshaciendo dudas, es á saber, en Daniel; al cual el rey puso por nombre Beltsasar. Llámese pues ahora á Daniel, y él mostrará la declaración.
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.

Então, Daniel foi trazido diante do rei. O rei lhe disse: "Tu és Daniel, um dos exilados de Judá, ao qual meu pai, o rei, tirou de Judá.

Eu ouvi sobre ti, que o espírito dos deuses está em ti e que a luz, o entendimento e a excelente sabedoria foram achados em ti.

I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

Os sábios e os adivinhos acabaram de ser trazidos à minha presença para ler a escrita e saber interpretar para mim, mas eles não puderam fazer conhecida a interpretação disso.
Y ahora fueron traídos delante de mí, sabios, astrólogos, que leyesen esta escritura, y me mostrasen su interpretación: pero no han podido mostrar la declaración del negocio.
And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:

Eu ouvi que tu podes dar interpretações e resolver problemas. Agora, se tu puderes ler a escrita e me dizer seu significado, serás vestido de púrpura e terás uma corrente de ouro no pescoço, e terás a autoridade como do terceiro governante do reino".
Yo pues he oído de ti que puedes declarar las dudas, y desatar dificultades. Si ahora pudieres leer esta escritura, y mostrarme su interpretación, serás vestido de púrpura, y collar de oro tendrás en tu cuello, y en el reino serás el tercer señor.
And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Então, Daniel respondeu diante do rei: "Que os teus presentes fiquem contigo e dá tuas recompensas para outra pessoa. Entretanto, eu lerei a escrita para ti, rei, e direi o significado.
Entonces Daniel respondió, y dijo delante del rey: Tus dones sean para ti, y tus presentes dalos á otro. La escritura yo la leeré al rey, y le mostraré la declaración.
Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

Quanto a ti, ó rei, o Deus Altíssimo deu a Nabucodonosor, teu pai, o reino, a grandeza, a glória e a majestade.
El altísimo Dios, oh rey, dió á Nabucodonosor tu padre el reino, y la grandeza, y la gloria, y la honra:
O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
“To you, king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty.
Por causa da grandeza que Deus deu a ele, todos os povos, todas as nações e línguas tremiam e temiam diante dele. Ele matava aqueles que desejava que morressem e mantinha vivos aqueles que ele desejava que vivessem. Ele exaltava e abatia a quem queria.
Y por la grandeza que le dió, todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, temblaban y temían delante de él. Los que él quería mataba, y daba vida á los que quería: engrandecía á los que quería, y á los que quería humillaba.
And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.
Because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. He killed whom he wanted to, and he kept alive whom he wanted to. He raised up whom he wanted to, and he put down whom he wanted to.
Mas, quando o seu coração foi arrogante e seu espírito se endureceu para agir presunçosamente, ele foi derrubado de seu trono real e sua majestade lhe foi tirada.
Mas cuando su corazón se ensoberbeció, y su espíritu se endureció en altivez, fué depuesto del trono de su reino, y traspasaron de él la gloria:
But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

Ele foi expulso do meio dos homens, teve a mente semelhante a de um animal e viveu com os jumentos selvagens. Ele comeu grama como os bois e seu corpo foi molhado com orvalho do céu, até que aprendeu que o Deus Altíssimo governa sobre os reinos do povo e constitui sobre eles a quem deseja.
Y fué echado de entre los hijos de los hombres; y su corazón fué puesto con las bestias, y con los asnos monteses fué su morada. Hierba le hicieron comer, como á buey, y su cuerpo fué bañado con el rocío del cielo, hasta que conoció que el altísimo Dios se enseñorea del reino de los hombres, y que pondrá sobre él al que quisiere.
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

Mas tu, seu filho, Belsazar, não humilhaste o teu coração, mesmo que soubesses de tudo isso.
Y tú, su hijo Belsasar, no has humillado tu corazón, sabiendo todo esto:
And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
“You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
Tu te elevaste contra o Senhor do céu. Da sua Casa foram trazidas as taças que tu, teus nobres, suas esposas e suas concubinas beberam vinho, e tu deste louvores aos ídolos feitos de prata, ouro, bronze, ferro, madeira e pedra — ídolos que não veem, não ouvem nem sabem de nada. Tu não honraste o Deus que segura a tua respiração em Sua mão e que conhece todos os teus caminhos.
Antes contra el Señor del cielo te has ensoberbecido, é hiciste traer delante de ti los vasos de su casa, y tú y tus príncipes, tus mujeres y tus concubinas, bebisteis vino en ellos: demás de esto, á dioses de plata y de oro, de metal, de hierro, de madera, y de piedra, que ni ven, ni oyen, ni saben, diste alabanza: y al Dios en cuya mano está tu vida, y cuyos son todos tus caminos, nunca honraste.
But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.
Então, Deus enviou uma mão de Sua presença e fez a inscrição.
Entonces de su presencia fué enviada la palma de la mano que esculpió esta escritura.
Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
Then the part of the hand was sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.
Esta é a escrita que foi feita: Mene, Mene, Tequel e Parsim.
Y la escritura que esculpió es: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
“This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’
Este é o significado: Mene: Deus enumerou teu reino e trouxe fim a ele.
La declaración del negocio es: MENE: Contó Dios tu reino, y halo rematado.
This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

Tequel: foste pesado na balança e encontrado em falta.

Peres: teu reino será dividido e entregue aos medos e persas".

Então, Belsazar deu uma ordem e eles vestiram Daniel com púrpura. Uma corrente de ouro foi colocada em seu pescoço e o rei fez uma proclamação sobre ele, de que teria a autoridade como o terceiro maior governante do reino.
Entonces, mandándolo Belsasar, vistieron á Daniel de púrpura, y en su cuello fué puesto un collar de oro, y pregonaron de él que fuese el tercer señor en el reino.
