Daniel 5

O rei Belsazar organizou uma grande festa e convidou mil homens importantes do seu reino. Nessa festa, o vinho correu livremente.

EL rey Belsasar hizo un gran banquete á mil de sus príncipes, y en presencia de los mil bebía vino.

Durante a festa, enquanto todos bebiam, Belsazar se lembrou dos vasos de ouro e prata que haviam sido levados para a Babilônia muitos anos antes, por Nabucodonosor, quando ele destruiu o templo em Jerusalém. Belsazar ordenou que as taças e vasos fossem trazidos para a festa, para que ele, os príncipes e suas mulheres bebessem dessas taças.

Belsasar, con el gusto del vino, mandó que trajesen los vasos de oro y de plata que Nabucodonosor su padre había traído del templo de Jerusalem; para que bebiesen con ellos el rey y sus príncipes, sus mujeres y sus concubinas.

Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.

Então trouxeram as taças de ouro que tinham sido tomadas do templo de Deus em Jerusalém, e o rei, os príncipes e as suas mulheres beberam das taças.

Entonces fueron traídos los vasos de oro que habían traído del templo de la casa de Dios que estaba en Jerusalem, y bebieron con ellos el rey y sus príncipes, sus mujeres y sus concubinas.

Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.

Enquanto bebiam o vinho, usando as taças sagradas, faziam votos e louvores aos seus deuses, feitos de ouro e prata, bronze e ferro, madeira e pedra.

Bebieron vino, y alabaron á los dioses de oro y de plata, de metal, de hierro, de madera, y de piedra.

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

De repente, enquanto eles bebiam nas taças sagradas, todos viram dedos de uma mão de homem escrevendo algo na parede do palácio que ficava em frente às lâmpadas! E o rei viu claramente os dedos escrevendo!

En aquella misma hora salieron unos dedos de mano de hombre, y escribían delante del candelero sobre lo encalado de la pared del palacio real, y el rey veía la palma de la mano que escribía.

In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.

O seu rosto ficou pálido e assustado. Ele ficou tão apavorado que seus joelhos batiam um contra o outro e suas pernas vacilaram!

Entonces el rey se demudó de su color, y sus pensamientos lo turbaron, y desatáronse las ceñiduras de sus lomos, y sus rodillas se batían la una con la otra.

Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

“Tragam os encantadores e astrólogos!”, ele gritou. “Tragam os adivinhos! Qualquer pessoa que conseguir ler o que está escrito na parede e me disser o significado daquelas palavras será vestida com a roupa real, feita de púrpura. No seu pescoço será colocada uma corrente de ouro, e ela se tornará a terceira autoridade do reino!”

El rey clamó en alta voz que hiciesen venir magos, Caldeos, y adivinos. Habló el rey, y dijo á los sabios de Babilonia: Cualquiera que leyere esta escritura, y me mostrare su declaración, será vestido de púrpura, y tendrá collar de oro á su cuello; y en el reino se enseñoreará el tercero.

The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and shows me its interpretation shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

Mas, quando os sábios chegaram, nenhum deles conseguiu entender a mensagem, ou dizer ao rei o seu significado.

Entonces fueron introducidos todos los sabios del rey, y no pudieron leer la escritura, ni mostrar al rey su declaración.

Then came in all the king’s wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.

O rei estava ficando cada vez mais desesperado. O medo que ele sentia era tão grande que o seu rosto ficou aterrorizado! E toda aquela gente importante também ficou apavorada!

Entonces el rey Belsasar fué muy turbado, y se le mudaron sus colores y alteráronse sus príncipes.

Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.

Quando a rainha-mãe soube o que estava acontecendo, correu até a sala do banquete e disse a Belsazar: “Que o rei viva para sempre! Acalme-se! Não fique tão desesperado por causa disso.

La reina, por las palabras del rey y de sus príncipes, entró á la sala del banquete. Y habló la reina, y dijo: Rey, para siempre vive, no te asombren tus pensamientos, ni tus colores se demuden:

Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his lords, came into the banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:

The queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet house. The queen spoke and said, “O king, live forever; don’t let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your face be changed.

Há um homem no seu reino que tem em si o espírito dos deuses santos. Na época de seu pai, esse homem era cheio de inteligência e sabedoria. Ele parecia ser um deus! No reinado de Nabucodonosor, seu predecessor, ele foi nomeado chefe dos magos, encantadores, astrólogos e adivinhos de toda a Babilônia.

En tu reino hay un varón, en el cual mora el espíritu de los dioses santos; y en los días de tu padre se halló en él luz é inteligencia y sabiduría, como ciencia de los dioses: al cual el rey Nabucodonosor, tu padre, el rey tu padre constituyó príncipe sobre todos los magos, astrólogos, Caldeos, y adivinos:

There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;

There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him. The king, Nebuchadnezzar, your father—yes, the king, your father—made him master of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and soothsayers,

Pois Daniel, esse homem a quem o rei deu o nome de Beltessazar, era cheio da sabedoria e da inteligência divina. Ele tem a capacidade de interpretar sonhos ou resolver enigmas e mistérios muito difíceis e solucionar qualquer caso. Mande chamar Daniel. Ele poderá dizer ao rei o que significam as palavras escritas na parede”.

Por cuanto fué hallado en él mayor espíritu, y ciencia, y entendimiento, interpretando sueños, y declarando preguntas, y deshaciendo dudas, es á saber, en Daniel; al cual el rey puso por nombre Beltsasar. Llámese pues ahora á Daniel, y él mostrará la declaración.

Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.

Assim, Daniel foi levado às pressas à presença do rei, que lhe perguntou: “Você é aquele Daniel que o rei Nabucodonosor trouxe como exilado de Judá?

Entonces Daniel fué traído delante del rey. Y habló el rey, y dijo á Daniel: ¿Eres tú aquel Daniel de los hijos de la cautividad de Judá, que mi padre trajo de Judea?

Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?

Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah?

Ouvi dizer que você tem o espírito dos deuses santos, que é um homem iluminado e cheio de inteligência e sabedoria.

Yo he oído de ti que el espíritu de los dioses santos está en ti, y que en ti se halló luz, y entendimiento y mayor sabiduría.

I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you and that light, understanding, and excellent wisdom are found in you.

Os meus sábios e encantadores tentaram ler as palavras escritas na parede e explicar o que elas significam, mas não conseguiram.

Y ahora fueron traídos delante de mí, sabios, astrólogos, que leyesen esta escritura, y me mostrasen su interpretación: pero no han podido mostrar la declaración del negocio.

And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:

Eu ouvi dizer que você é capaz de resolver qualquer tipo de mistério. Se você me disser o que significam aquelas palavras, eu o vestirei de roupas reais, colocarei no seu pescoço uma corrente de ouro, e você passará a ser a terceira autoridade deste reino”.

Yo pues he oído de ti que puedes declarar las dudas, y desatar dificultades. Si ahora pudieres leer esta escritura, y mostrarme su interpretación, serás vestido de púrpura, y collar de oro tendrás en tu cuello, y en el reino serás el tercer señor.

And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.

But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and dissolve doubts. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

Então Daniel respondeu ao rei: “Majestade, guarde os seus presentes, ou então ofereça tudo isso a outra pessoa. Eu lerei a inscrição para o rei e lhe direi o significado das palavras.

Entonces Daniel respondió, y dijo delante del rey: Tus dones sean para ti, y tus presentes dalos á otro. La escritura yo la leeré al rey, y le mostraré la declaración.

Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

Then Daniel answered before the king, “Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless, I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

“Ó rei, o Deus Altíssimo deu ao rei Nabucodonosor, que viveu antes do senhor, um grande reino, muito poder, honra e glória.

El altísimo Dios, oh rey, dió á Nabucodonosor tu padre el reino, y la grandeza, y la gloria, y la honra:

O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:

“To you, king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty.

Era tão grande o poder que Nabucodonosor recebeu de Deus que todos os povos tremiam de medo diante dele. Mandava matar quem ele queria e deixava com vida as pessoas de quem gostava. Conforme os caprichos do rei, ele promovia a quem queria promover e humilhava a quem queria humilhar.

Y por la grandeza que le dió, todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, temblaban y temían delante de él. Los que él quería mataba, y daba vida á los que quería: engrandecía á los que quería, y á los que quería humillaba.

And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.

Because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. He killed whom he wanted to, and he kept alive whom he wanted to. He raised up whom he wanted to, and he put down whom he wanted to.

Mas, quando o coração de Nabucodonosor ficou cheio de orgulho, Deus o arrancou de seu trono e acabou com a glória que ele tinha.

Mas cuando su corazón se ensoberbeció, y su espíritu se endureció en altivez, fué depuesto del trono de su reino, y traspasaron de él la gloria:

But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him.

Foi expulso do meio dos homens e começou a pensar e agir como um animal; passou a viver com os jumentos selvagens e a comer capim como os bois. Seu corpo era diariamente coberto com o orvalho, até que entendeu que o Deus Altíssimo domina sobre os reinos dos homens e ele mesmo escolhe quem quer para governá-los.

Y fué echado de entre los hijos de los hombres; y su corazón fué puesto con las bestias, y con los asnos monteses fué su morada. Hierba le hicieron comer, como á buey, y su cuerpo fué bañado con el rocío del cielo, hasta que conoció que el altísimo Dios se enseñorea del reino de los hombres, y que pondrá sobre él al que quisiere.

And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

“E o senhor, rei Belsazar, que reina no mesmo trono, mesmo sabendo de tudo isso, não se humilhou.

Y tú, su hijo Belsasar, no has humillado tu corazón, sabiendo todo esto:

And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

“You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,

Mas desafiou o Senhor dos céus e trouxe para esta festa as taças sagradas do seu templo. O senhor, seus convidados, suas esposas e outras mulheres beberam dessas taças enquanto louvavam deuses feitos de ouro, prata, bronze, ferro, madeira e pedra — deuses que não veem nem ouvem, deuses que não conhecem coisa alguma. Mas nenhum de vocês louvou o Deus que dá vida, o Deus que controla as suas vidas!

Antes contra el Señor del cielo te has ensoberbecido, é hiciste traer delante de ti los vasos de su casa, y tú y tus príncipes, tus mujeres y tus concubinas, bebisteis vino en ellos: demás de esto, á dioses de plata y de oro, de metal, de hierro, de madera, y de piedra, que ni ven, ni oyen, ni saben, diste alabanza: y al Dios en cuya mano está tu vida, y cuyos son todos tus caminos, nunca honraste.

But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.

Por isso, Deus mandou aqueles dedos para escrever as palavras da inscrição.

Entonces de su presencia fué enviada la palma de la mano que esculpió esta escritura.

Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

Then the part of the hand was sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.

“Esta é a inscrição: “MENE, MENE, TEQUEL, PARSIM.

Y la escritura que esculpió es: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

“This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’

“E este é o significado da mensagem: “MENE significa ‘contado’ — Deus contou os dias do seu reinado, e determinou o seu fim.

La declaración del negocio es: MENE: Contó Dios tu reino, y halo rematado.

This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

“This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE: God has counted your kingdom, and brought it to an end.

“TEQUEL significa ‘pesado’ — o senhor foi pesado na balança de Deus e não atingiu o peso necessário.

TEKEL: Pesado has sido en balanza, y fuiste hallado falto.

TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

TEKEL: you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.

“PARSIM significa ‘dividido’ — o seu reino será dividido e entregue aos medos e aos persas”.

PERES: Tu reino fué rompido, y es dado á Medos y Persas.

PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

PERES: your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

Então, por ordem de Belsazar, Daniel foi vestido com as roupas reais, feitas de tecido vermelho. No seu pescoço foi colocada uma corrente de ouro, e ele foi proclamado a terceira autoridade no reino.

Entonces, mandándolo Belsasar, vistieron á Daniel de púrpura, y en su cuello fué puesto un collar de oro, y pregonaron de él que fuese el tercer señor en el reino.

Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Naquela mesma noite, Belsazar, rei dos babilônios foi morto,

La misma noche fué muerto Belsasar, rey de los Caldeos.

In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.

In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain.

e Dario, o medo, tomou a cidade de Babilônia e começou a reinar, com a idade de sessenta e dois anos.

Y Darío de Media tomó el reino, siendo de sesenta y dos años.

And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.
