12Poi s’accostarono al re, e gli parlarono del divieto reale: “Non hai tu firmato un divieto, per il quale chiunque entro lo spazio di trenta giorni farà qualche richiesta a qualsivoglia dio o uomo tranne che a te, o re, deve essere gettato nella fossa de’ leoni?” Il re rispose e disse: “La cosa è stabilita, conformemente alla legge dei Medi e de’ Persiani, che è irrevocabile”.
