und Darius, der Meder, erhielt die Herrschaft im Alter von zweiundsechzig Jahren.

PARECIÓ bien á Darío constituir sobre el reino ciento veinte gobernadores, que estuviesen en todo el reino.

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

Darius befand es für gut, hundertundzwanzig Satrapen über sein Reich einzusetzen, die im ganzen Reiche verteilt sein sollten,

Y sobre ellos tres presidentes, de los cuales Daniel era el uno, á quienes estos gobernadores diesen cuenta, porque el rey no recibiese daño.

And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

über diese aber drei Minister zu bestellen, von denen Daniel einer war; diesen sollten jene Satrapen Rechenschaft ablegen, damit der König keinen Schaden erlitte.

Pero el mismo Daniel era superior á estos gobernadores y presidentes, porque había en él más abundancia de espíritu: y el rey pensaba de ponerlo sobre todo el reino.

Entonces los presidentes y gobernadores buscaban ocasiones contra Daniel por parte del reino; mas no podían hallar alguna ocasión ó falta, porque él era fiel, y ningún vicio ni falta fué en él hallado.

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

Da suchten die Minister und die Satrapen eine Anklage gegen Daniel auf Grund seiner Geschäftsführung ausfindig zu machen, konnten aber keinerlei Schuld und nichts Nachteiliges bei ihm entdecken, weil er treu war und ihm keinerlei Nachlässigkeit der Verfehlung nachzuweisen war.

Entonces dijeron aquellos hombres: No hallaremos contra este Daniel ocasión alguna, si no la hallamos contra él en la ley de su Dios.

Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

Da sagten jene Männer: »Wir werden gegen diesen Daniel niemals einen Anklagegrund ausfindig machen, es sei denn in betreff seiner Gottesverehrung.«

Entonces estos gobernadores y presidentes se juntaron delante del rey, y le dijeron así: Rey Darío, para siempre vive:

Hierauf begaben sich jene Minister und die Satrapen eilends zum König und sagten zu ihm: »König Darius, mögest du ewig leben!

Todos los presidentes del reino, magistrados, gobernadores, grandes, y capitanes, han acordado por consejo promulgar un real edicto, y confirmarlo, que cualquiera que demandare petición de cualquier dios ú hombre en el espacio de treinta días, sino de ti, oh rey, sea echado en el foso de los leones.

Y Daniel, cuando supo que la escritura estaba firmada, entróse en su casa, y abiertas las ventanas de su cámara que estaban hacia Jerusalem, hincábase de rodillas tres veces al día, y oraba, y confesaba delante de su Dios, como lo solía hacer antes.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Sobald nun Daniel erfuhr, daß die Verordnung ausgefertigt war, begab er sich in seine Wohnung, wo er in seinem Obergemach Fenster hatte, die nach Jerusalem hin offen standen; er warf sich dort täglich dreimal auf die Knie nieder, verrichtete sein Gebet und seine Lobpreisung vor seinem Gott ganz so, wie er es auch vordem regelmäßig getan hatte.

Llegáronse luego, y hablaron delante del rey acerca del edicto real: ¿No has confirmado edicto que cualquiera que pidiere á cualquier dios ú hombre en el espacio de treinta días, excepto á ti, oh rey, fuese echado en el foso de los leones? Respondió el rey y dijo: Verdad es, conforme á la ley de Media y de Persia, la cual no se abroga.

Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

Darauf traten sie vor den König und fragten mit Bezug auf das königliche Verbot: »Hast du nicht ein Verbot ausfertigen lassen, wonach jeder, der innerhalb der nächsten dreißig Tage eine Bitte an irgendeinen Gott oder einen Menschen richten würde außer an dich, o König, in die Löwengrube geworfen werden soll?« Der König antwortete: »Die Sache steht fest nach dem unwiderruflichen Gesetz der Meder und Perser.«

Entonces respondieron y dijeron delante del rey: Daniel que es de los hijos de la cautividad de los Judíos, no ha hecho cuenta de ti, oh rey, ni del edicto que confirmaste; antes tres veces al día hace su petición.

Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

Darauf erwiderten sie dem König: »Daniel, einer von den in die Verbannung hergeführten Judäern, hat nicht auf dich, o König, geachtet, noch auf das Verbot, das du hast ausfertigen lassen, sondern verrichtet dreimal täglich sein Gebet.«

El rey entonces, oyendo el negocio, pesóle en gran manera, y sobre Daniel puso cuidado para librarlo; y hasta puestas del sol trabajó para librarle.

Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

Als der König das hörte, wurde er über die Mitteilung sehr betrübt und sann darüber nach, wie er Daniel retten könnte, und war bis Sonnenuntergang bemüht, ihn frei zu machen.

Empero aquellos hombres se reunieron cerca del rey, y dijeron al rey: Sepas, oh rey, que es ley de Media y de Persia, que ningún decreto ú ordenanza que el rey confirmare pueda mudarse.

Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.

Da stürmten aber jene Männer (wiederum) zum König und sagten zu ihm: »Bedenke, o König, daß bei den Medern und Persern ein Gesetz besteht, nach welchem kein vom König erlassenes Verbot oder Gebot rückgängig gemacht werden darf.«

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

Da gab der König Befehl, worauf man Daniel herbeiholte und ihn in den Löwenzwinger warf. Dabei richtete der König an Daniel die Worte: »Dein Gott, dem du mit aller Ausdauer dienst, der möge dich retten!«

Hierauf wurde ein Stein herbeigebracht und oben auf die Öffnung der Grube gelegt; der König aber versiegelte ihn mit seinem Siegelring und mit dem Siegel seiner obersten Beamten, damit kein unbefugtes Eingreifen in die Sache Daniels möglich sei.

Hierauf begab sich der König in seinen Palast zurück und verbrachte die Nacht, ohne etwas zu genießen; er ließ auch keine von seinen Frauen zu sich führen, doch kein Schlaf kam in seine Augen.

And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

When he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?”

und als er sich der Grube näherte, rief er dem Daniel mit angstvoller Stimme zu und richtete die Frage an ihn: »Daniel, Verehrer des lebendigen Gottes! Hat dein Gott, dem du mit aller Ausdauer dienst, dich vor den Löwen zu retten vermocht?«

Entonces habló Daniel con el rey: oh rey, para siempre vive.

Da antwortete Daniel dem König: »O König, mögest du ewig leben!

El Dios mío envió su ángel, el cual cerró la boca de los leones, para que no me hiciesen mal: porque delante de él se halló en mí justicia: y aun delante de ti, oh rey, yo no he hecho lo que no debiese.

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Mein Gott hat seinen Engel gesandt und den Löwen den Rachen verschlossen, so daß sie mir nichts zuleide getan haben, weil meine Unschuld ihm bekannt war; und auch dir gegenüber habe ich mir kein Unrecht zuschulden kommen lassen.«

Entonces se alegró el rey en gran manera á causa de él, y mandó sacar á Daniel del foso: y fué Daniel sacado del foso, y ninguna lesión se halló en él, porque creyó en su Dios.

Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

Da wurde der König hoch erfreut; er ließ Daniel aus der Grube heraufholen; und als man ihn heraufgezogen hatte, fand sich nicht die geringste Verletzung an ihm, weil er auf seinen Gott vertraut hatte.

Y mandándolo el rey fueron traídos aquellos hombres que habían acusado á Daniel, y fueron echados en el foso de los leones, ellos, sus hijos, y sus mujeres; y aun no habían llegado al suelo del foso, cuando los leones se apoderaron de ellos, y quebrantaron todos sus huesos.

And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.

Entonces el rey Darío escribió á todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, que habitan en toda la tierra: Paz os sea multiplicada:

Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Hierauf schrieb der König Darius an alle Völker, Volksstämme und Zungen, die auf der ganzen Erde wohnten: »Heil möge euch in Fülle zuteil werden!

De parte mía es puesta ordenanza, que en todo el señorío de mi reino todos teman y tiemblen de la presencia del Dios de Daniel: porque él es el Dios viviente y permanente por todos los siglos, y su reino tal que no será deshecho, y su señorío hasta el fin.

I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

Hiermit ergeht der Befehl von mir, daß man im ganzen Bereich meiner königlichen Herrschaft vor dem Gott Daniels zittern und ihn fürchten soll; denn er ist der lebendige Gott, der in Ewigkeit bleibt; sein Reich ist unzerstörbar, und seine Herrschaft nimmt kein Ende.

Que salva y libra, y hace señales y maravillas en el cielo y en la tierra; el cual libró á Daniel del poder de los leones.

Er errettet und befreit und vollführt Zeichen und Wunder am Himmel und auf Erden, er, der Daniel aus der Gewalt der Löwen errettet hat.«

Y este Daniel fué prosperado durante el reinado de Darío, y durante el reinado de Ciro, Persa.

Und dieser Daniel war ein einflußreicher Mann während der Regierung des Darius und auch während der Regierung des Persers Cyrus.
