1En el primer año de Belsasar, rey de Babilonia, Daniel vio un sueño, y las visiones se le vinieron a la cabeza en la cama: luego puso el sueño por escrito.
2Tuve una visión de noche y vi los cuatro vientos del cielo moviendo violentamente el gran mar.
3Y cuatro grandes bestias surgieron del mar, diferentes unas de otras.
4El primero era como un león y tenía alas de águila; mientras miraba, le arrancaron las alas, la levantaron de la tierra y la pusieron en dos pies como un hombre, y le dieron el corazón de un hombre.
5Y vi otra bestia, como un oso, y se levantó por un lado, y tres costillas estaban en su boca, entre sus dientes, y le dijeron: ¡Levántate! Come mucha carne.
6Después de esto vi otra bestia, como un leopardo, que tenía en su espalda cuatro alas como las de un pájaro; y la bestia tenía cuatro cabezas, y se le dio el poder de un gobernante.
7Después de esto, en mi visión de la noche, vi una cuarta bestia, algo que causaba miedo y era muy preocupante, lleno de poder y muy fuerte; y tenía grandes dientes de hierro: tomó su comida, la partió en pedazos y aplastó el resto con los pies: era diferente de todas las bestias anteriores; y tenía diez cuernos.
8Estaba mirando los cuernos con cuidado, y vi a otro que se acercaba, uno pequeño, ante el cual tres de los primeros cuernos fueron arrancados por las raíces: y había ojos como los ojos de un hombre en este cuerno, y una boca que dice grandes cosas.
9Seguí mirando hasta que se colocaron los asientos de los reyes, y uno como un hombre muy anciano se sentó; su ropa era blanca como la nieve, y el cabello de su cabeza era como lana limpia; su asiento era llamas de fuego y sus ruedas ardían.
10Una corriente de fuego fluía y salía de delante de él; mil miles eran sus sirvientes, y diez mil veces diez mil estaban en sus lugares delante de él; el juez estaba sentado y los libros estaban abiertos.
11Entonces vi, a causa de la voz de las grandes palabras que decía el cuerno, vi hasta que la bestia murió, y su cuerpo fue destruido, y la bestia fue incendiada en él fuego.
12En cuanto al resto de las bestias, les quitaron su autoridad, pero les dejaron seguir viviendo por un tiempo.
13Vi en la visión de la noche, y venía con las nubes del cielo uno como un hombre, y él se acercó al anciano de días, y lo llevaron cerca delante de él.
14Y a él le dio autoridad, gloria y reino; y todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas le servirán; su autoridad es una autoridad eterna que no llegará a su fin, y su reino no será destruido.
15En cuanto a mí, Daniel, mi espíritu estaba angustiado, y las visiones de mi mente me estaban perturbando.
16Me acerqué a uno de los que estaban esperando allí, preguntándole sobre qué era todo esto. Y él me dijo que me dejaría claro el sentido de estas cosas.
17Estas grandes bestias son cuatro reyes que serán separados de la tierra.
18Pero los santos del Altísimo tomarán el reino, y será suyo para siempre, incluso por los siglos de los siglos.
19Entonces fue mi deseo tener cierto conocimiento sobre la cuarta bestia, que era diferente de todas las demás, una causa de gran temor, cuyos dientes eran de hierro y sus uñas de bronce; quien tomó su comida, la partió en pedazos y pisoteó el resto con los pies;
20Y sobre los diez cuernos en su cabeza y los otros que subieron, causando la caída de tres; ese cuerno que tenía ojos y una boca que decía grandezas, parecía ser más grande que los otros cuernos.
21Y vi cómo ese cuerno hizo la guerra a los santos y los venció,
22Hasta que vino, el anciano de días, y se tomó la decisión y se dio la autoridad a los santos del Altísimo; y llegó el momento en que los santos tomaron el reino.
23Esto es lo que dijo: La cuarta bestia es un cuarto reino que vendrá a la tierra, diferente de todos los reinos, y devorará toda la tierra, pisoteará y destrozará.
24Y en cuanto a los diez cuernos, de este reino diez reyes vendrán al poder; y después de ellos aparecerá otro: será diferente de los primeros y derrotará a los tres reyes.
25Y dirá palabras contra el Altísimo, intentando poner fin a los santos del Altísimo; y tendrá la idea de cambiar los tiempos y la ley; y los santos serán entregados en sus manos por un tiempo y tiempos y medio tiempo.
26Pero el juez se sentará, y ellos pondrán fin a su señorío, para vencerlo y destruirlo completamente.
27Y los reinos y dominios y la grandeza de los reinos bajo todo el cielo serán entregados al pueblo de los santos del Altísimo; él cual su reino es un reino eterno, y todos los dominios serán sus siervos y obedecerán.
28Aquí está el final de la cuenta. En cuanto a mí, Daniel, estaba muy afligido por mis pensamientos, y el color desapareció de mi rostro, pero mantuve la palabra en mi corazón.

1EN el primer año de Belsasar rey de Babilonia, vió Daniel un sueño y visiones de su cabeza en su cama: luego escribió el sueño, y notó la suma de los negocios.
2Habló Daniel y dijo: Veía yo en mi visión de noche, y he aquí que los cuatro vientos del cielo combatían en la gran mar.
3Y cuatro bestias grandes, diferentes la una de la otra, subían de la mar.
4La primera era como león, y tenía alas de águila. Yo estaba mirando hasta tanto que sus alas fueron arrancadas, y fué quitada de la tierra; y púsose enhiesta sobre los pies á manera de hombre, y fuéle dado corazón de hombre.
5Y he aquí otra segunda bestia, semejante á un oso, la cual se puso al un lado, y tenía en su boca tres costillas entre sus dientes; y fuéle dicho así: Levántate, traga carne mucha.
6Después de esto yo miraba, y he aquí otra, semejante á un tigre, y tenía cuatro alas de ave en sus espaldas: tenía también esta bestia cuatro cabezas; y fuéle dada potestad.
7Después de esto miraba yo en las visiones de la noche, y he aquí la cuarta bestia, espantosa y terrible, y en grande manera fuerte; la cual tenía unos dientes grandes de hierro: devoraba y desmenuzaba, y las sobras hollaba con sus pies: y era muy diferente de todas las bestias que habían sido antes de ella, y tenía diez cuernos.
8Estando yo contemplando los cuernos, he aquí que otro cuerno pequeño subía entre ellos, y delante de él fueron arrancados tres cuernos de los primeros; y he aquí, en este cuerno había ojos como ojos de hombre, y una boca que hablaba grandezas.
9Estuve mirando hasta que fueron puestas sillas: y un Anciano de grande edad se sentó, cuyo vestido era blanco como la nieve, y el pelo de su cabeza como lana limpia; su silla llama de fuego, sus ruedas fuego ardiente.
10Un río de fuego procedía y salía de delante de él: millares de millares le servían, y millones de millones asistían delante de él: el Juez se sentó, y los libros se abrieron.
11Yo entonces miraba á causa de la voz de las grandes palabras que hablaba el cuerno; miraba hasta tanto que mataron la bestia, y su cuerpo fué deshecho, y entregado para ser quemado en el fuego.
12Habían también quitado á las otras bestias su señorío, y les había sido dada prolongación de vida hasta cierto tiempo.
13Miraba yo en la visión de la noche, y he aquí en las nubes del cielo como un hijo de hombre que venía, y llegó hasta el Anciano de grande edad, é hiciéronle llegar delante de él.
14Y fuéle dado señorío, y gloria, y reino; y todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas le sirvieron; su señorío, señorío eterno, que no será transitorio, y su reino que no se corromperá.
15Mi espíritu fué turbado, yo Daniel, en medio de mi cuerpo, y las visiones de mi cabeza me asombraron.
16Lleguéme á uno de los que asistían, y preguntéle la verdad acerca de todo esto. Y hablóme, y declaróme la interpretación de las cosas.
17Estas grandes bestias, las cuales son cuatro, cuatro reyes son, que se levantarán en la tierra.
18Después tomarán el reino los santos del Altísimo, y poseerán el reino hasta el siglo, y hasta el siglo de los siglos.
19Entonces tuve deseo de saber la verdad acerca de la cuarta bestia, que tan diferente era de todas las otras, espantosa en gran manera, que tenía dientes de hierro, y sus uñas de metal, que devoraba y desmenuzaba, y las sobras hollaba con sus pies:
20Asimismo acerca de los diez cuernos que tenía en su cabeza, y del otro que había subido, de delante del cual habían caído tres: y este mismo cuerno tenía ojos, y boca que hablaba grandezas, y su parecer mayor que el de sus compañeros.
21Y veía yo que este cuerno hacía guerra contra los santos, y los vencía,
22Hasta tanto que vino el Anciano de grande edad, y se dió el juicio á los santos del Altísimo; y vino el tiempo, y los santos poseyeron el reino.
23Dijo así: La cuarta bestia será un cuarto reino en la tierra, el cual será más grande que todos los otros reinos, y á toda la tierra devorará, y la hollará, y la despedazará.
24Y los diez cuernos significan que de aquel reino se levantarán diez reyes; y tras ellos se levantará otro, el cual será mayor que los primeros, y á tres reyes derribará.
25Y hablará palabras contra el Altísimo, y á los santos del Altísimo quebrantará, y pensará en mudar los tiempos y la ley: y entregados serán en su mano hasta tiempo, y tiempos, y el medio de un tiempo.
26Empero se sentará el juez, y quitaránle su señorío, para que sea destruído y arruinado hasta el extremo;
27Y que el reino, y el señorío, y la majestad de los reinos debajo de todo el cielo, sea dado al pueblo de los santos del Altísimo; cuyo reino es reino eterno, y todos los señoríos le servirán y obedecerán.
28Hasta aquí fué el fin de la plática. Yo Daniel, mucho me turbaron mis pensamientos, y mi rostro se me mudó: mas guardé en mi corazón el negocio.

1In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
2Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
3And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
5And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
6After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
9I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
11I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
12As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
13I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
15I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
16I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
17These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
18But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
19Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
28Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

1In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head while on his bed. Then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.
2Daniel spoke and said, “I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the sky broke out on the great sea.
3Four great animals came up from the sea, different from one another.
4“The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet as a man. A man’s heart was given to it.
5“Behold, there was another animal, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth. They said this to it: ‘Arise! Devour much flesh!’
6“After this I saw, and behold, another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The animal also had four heads; and dominion was given to it.
7“After this I saw in the night visions, and, behold, there was a fourth animal, awesome, powerful, and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth. It devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from all the animals that were before it. It had ten horns.
8“I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking arrogantly.
9“I watched until thrones were placed, and one who was Ancient of Days sat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool. His throne was fiery flames, and its wheels burning fire.
10A fiery stream issued and came out from before him. Thousands of thousands ministered to him. Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The judgment was set. The books were opened.
11“I watched at that time because of the voice of the arrogant words which the horn spoke. I watched even until the animal was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given to be burned with fire.
12As for the rest of the animals, their dominion was taken away; yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
13“I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the Ancient of Days, and they brought him near before him.
14Dominion was given him, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away, and his kingdom one that will not be destroyed.
15“As for me, Daniel, my spirit was grieved within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
16I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth concerning all this. “So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
17‘These great animals, which are four, are four kings, who will arise out of the earth.
18But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’
19“Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth animal, which was different from all of them, exceedingly terrible, whose teeth were of iron, and its nails of bronze; which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet;
20and concerning the ten horns that were on its head and the other horn which came up, and before which three fell, even that horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke arrogantly, whose look was more stout than its fellows.
21I saw, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them,
22until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23“So he said, ‘The fourth animal will be a fourth kingdom on earth, which will be different from all the kingdoms, and will devour the whole earth, and will tread it down and break it in pieces.
24As for the ten horns, ten kings will arise out of this kingdom. Another will arise after them; and he will be different from the former, and he will put down three kings.
25He will speak words against the Most High, and will wear out the saints of the Most High. He will plan to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
26“‘But the judgment will be set, and they will take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it to the end.
27The kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole sky, will be given to the people of the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions will serve and obey him.’
28“Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts troubled me greatly, and my face was changed in me; but I kept the matter in my heart.”
