Deuteronomio 11

1Tu aimeras l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu observeras toujours ses préceptes, ses lois, ses ordonnances et ses commandements.
2Reconnaissez aujourd’hui – ce que n’ont pu connaître et voir vos enfants – les châtiments de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, sa grandeur, sa main forte et son bras étendu,
3ses signes et ses actes qu’il a accomplis au milieu de l’Égypte contre Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, et contre tout son pays.
4Reconnaissez ce qu’il a fait à l’armée d’Égypte, à ses chevaux et à ses chars, comment il a fait couler sur eux les eaux de la mer Rouge, lorsqu’ils vous poursuivaient, et les a détruits pour toujours;
5ce qu’il vous a fait dans le désert, jusqu’à votre arrivée en ce lieu;
6ce qu’il a fait à Dathan et à Abiram, fils d’Éliab, fils de Ruben, comment la terre ouvrit sa bouche et les engloutit, avec leurs maisons et leurs tentes et tout ce qui était à leur suite, au milieu de tout Israël.
7Car vos yeux ont vu toutes les grandes choses que l’Éternel a faites.
8Ainsi, vous observerez tous les commandements que je vous prescris aujourd’hui, afin que vous ayez la force de vous emparer du pays où vous allez passer pour en prendre possession,
9et afin que vous prolongiez vos jours dans le pays que l’Éternel a juré à vos pères de leur donner, à eux et à leur postérité, pays où coulent le lait et le miel.
10Car le pays dont tu vas entrer en possession, n’est pas comme le pays d’Égypte, d’où vous êtes sortis, où tu jetais dans les champs ta semence et les arrosais avec ton pied comme un jardin potager.
11Le pays que vous allez posséder est un pays de montagnes et de vallées, et qui boit les eaux de la pluie du ciel;
12c’est un pays dont l’Éternel, ton Dieu, prend soin, et sur lequel l’Éternel, ton Dieu, a continuellement les yeux, du commencement à la fin de l’année.
13Si vous obéissez à mes commandements que je vous prescris aujourd’hui, si vous aimez l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et si vous le servez de tout votre cœur et de toute votre âme,
14je donnerai à votre pays la pluie en son temps, la pluie de la première et de l’arrière-saison, et tu recueilleras ton blé, ton moût et ton huile;
15je mettrai aussi dans tes champs de l’herbe pour ton bétail, et tu mangeras et te rassasieras.
16Gardez-vous de laisser séduire votre cœur, de vous détourner, de servir d’autres dieux et de vous prosterner devant eux.
17La colère de l’Éternel s’enflammerait alors contre vous; il fermerait les cieux, et il n’y aurait point de pluie; la terre ne donnerait plus ses produits, et vous péririez promptement dans le bon pays que l’Éternel vous donne.
18Mettez dans votre cœur et dans votre âme ces paroles que je vous dis. Vous les lierez comme un signe sur vos mains, et elles seront comme des fronteaux entre vos yeux.
19Vous les enseignerez à vos enfants, et vous leur en parlerez quand tu seras dans ta maison, quand tu iras en voyage, quand tu te coucheras et quand tu te lèveras.
20Tu les écriras sur les poteaux de ta maison et sur tes portes.
21Et alors vos jours et les jours de vos enfants, dans le pays que l’Éternel a juré à vos pères de leur donner, seront aussi nombreux que les jours des cieux le seront au-dessus de la terre.
22Car si vous observez tous ces commandements que je vous prescris, et si vous les mettez en pratique pour aimer l’Éternel, votre Dieu, pour marcher dans toutes ses voies et pour vous attacher à lui,
23l’Éternel chassera devant vous toutes ces nations, et vous vous rendrez maîtres de nations plus grandes et plus puissantes que vous.
24Tout lieu que foulera la plante de votre pied sera à vous: votre frontière s’étendra du désert au Liban, et du fleuve de l’Euphrate jusqu’à la mer occidentale.
25Nul ne tiendra contre vous. L’Éternel, votre Dieu, répandra, comme il vous l’a dit, la frayeur et la crainte de toi sur tout le pays où vous marcherez.
26Vois, je mets aujourd’hui devant vous la bénédiction et la malédiction:
27la bénédiction, si vous obéissez aux commandements de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, que je vous prescris en ce jour;
28la malédiction, si vous n’obéissez pas aux commandements de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et si vous vous détournez de la voie que je vous prescris en ce jour, pour aller après d’autres dieux que vous ne connaissez point.
29Et lorsque l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’aura fait entrer dans le pays dont tu vas prendre possession, tu prononceras la bénédiction sur la montagne de Garizim, et la malédiction sur la montagne d’Ébal.
30Ces montagnes ne sont-elles pas de l’autre côté du Jourdain, derrière le chemin de l’occident, au pays des Cananéens qui habitent dans la plaine vis-à-vis de Guilgal, près des chênes de Moré?
31Car vous allez passer le Jourdain pour entrer en possession du pays que l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous donne; vous le posséderez, et vous y habiterez.
32Vous observerez et vous mettrez en pratique toutes les lois et les ordonnances que je vous prescris aujourd’hui.

1AMARÁS pues á Jehová tu Dios, y guardarás su ordenanza, y sus estatutos y sus derechos y sus mandamientos, todos los días.
2Y comprended hoy: porque no hablo con vuestros hijos que no han sabido ni visto el castigo de Jehová vuestro Dios, su grandeza, su mano fuerte, y su brazo extendido,
3Y sus señales, y sus obras que hizo en medio de Egipto á Faraón, rey de Egipto, y á toda su tierra;
4Y lo que hizo al ejército de Egipto, á sus caballos, y á sus carros; cómo hizo ondear las aguas del mar Bermejo sobre ellos, cuando venían tras vosotros, y Jehová los destruyó hasta hoy;
5Y lo que ha hecho con vosotros en el desierto, hasta que habéis llegado á este lugar;
6Y lo que hizo con Dathán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab hijo de Rubén; cómo abrió la tierra su boca, y tragóse á ellos y á sus casas, y sus tiendas, y toda la hacienda que tenían en pie en medio de todo Israel:
7Mas vuestros ojos han visto todos los grandes hechos que Jehová ha ejecutado.
8Guardad, pues, todos los mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy, para que seáis esforzados, y entréis y poseáis la tierra, á la cual pasáis para poseerla;
9Y para que os sean prolongados los días sobre la tierra, que juró Jehová á vuestros padres había de dar á ellos y á su simiente, tierra que fluye leche y miel.
10Que la tierra á la cual entras para poseerla, no es como la tierra de Egipto de donde habéis salido, donde sembrabas tu simiente, y regabas con tu pie, como huerto de hortaliza.
11La tierra á la cual pasáis para poseerla, es tierra de montes y de vegas; de la lluvia del cielo ha de beber las aguas;
12Tierra de la cual Jehová tu Dios cuida: siempre están sobre ella los ojos de Jehová tu Dios, desde el principio del año hasta el fin de él.
13Y será que, si obedeciereis cuidadosamente mis mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy, amando á Jehová vuestro Dios, y sirviéndolo con todo vuestro corazón, y con toda vuestra alma,
14Yo daré la lluvia de vuestra tierra en su tiempo, la temprana y la tardía; y cogerás tu grano, y tu vino, y tu aceite.
15Daré también hierba en tu campo para tus bestias; y comerás, y te hartarás.
16Guardaos, pues, que vuestro corazón no se infatúe, y os apartéis, y sirváis á dioses ajenos, y os inclinéis á ellos;
17Y así se encienda el furor de Jehová sobre vosotros, y cierre los cielos, y no haya lluvia, ni la tierra dé su fruto, y perezcáis presto de la buena tierra que os da Jehová.
18Por tanto, pondréis estas mis palabras en vuestro corazón y en vuestra alma, y las ataréis por señal en vuestra mano, y serán por frontales entre vuestros ojos.
19Y las enseñaréis á vuestros hijos, hablando de ellas, ora sentado en tu casa, ó andando por el camino, cuando te acuestes, y cuando te levantes:
20Y las escribirás en los postes de tu casa, y en tus portadas:
21Para que sean aumentados vuestros días, y los días de vuestros hijos, sobre la tierra que juró Jehová á vuestros padres que les había de dar, como los días de los cielos sobre la tierra.
22Porque si guardareis cuidadosamente todos estos mandamientos que yo os prescribo, para que los cumpláis; como améis á Jehová vuestro Dios andando en todos sus caminos, y á él os allegareis,
23Jehová también echará todas estas gentes de delante de vosotros y poseeréis gentes grandes y más fuertes que vosotros.
24Todo lugar que pisare la planta de vuestro pie, será vuestro: desde el desierto y el Líbano, desde el río, el río Eufrates, hasta la mar postrera será vuestro término.
25Nadie se sostendrá delante de vosotros: miedo y temor de vosotros pondrá Jehová vuestro Dios sobre la haz de toda la tierra que hollareis, como él os ha dicho.
26He aquí yo pongo hoy delante de vosotros la bendición y la maldición:
27La bendición, si oyereis los mandamientos de Jehová vuestro Dios, que yo os prescribo hoy;
28Y la maldición, si no oyereis los mandamientos de Jehová vuestro Dios, y os apartareis del camino que yo os ordeno hoy, para ir en pos de dioses ajenos que no habéis conocido.
29Y será que, cuando Jehová tu Dios te introdujere en la tierra á la cual vas para poseerla, pondrás la bendición sobre el monte Gerizim, y la maldición sobre el monte Ebal:
30Los cuales están de la otra parte del Jordán, tras el camino del occidente en la tierra del Cananeo, que habita en la campiña delante de Gilgal, junto á los llanos de Moreh.
31Porque vosotros pasáis el Jordán, para ir á poseer la tierra que os da Jehová vuestro Dios; y la poseeréis, y habitaréis en ella.
32Cuidaréis, pues, de poner por obra todos los estatutos y derechos que yo presento hoy delante de vosotros.

1Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
2And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
3And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
4And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
5And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
6And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
7But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
8Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
9And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
10For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
11But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
12A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
13And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
15And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
16Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
17And then the LORD’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
18Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
23Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
24Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
25There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
26Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
29And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
30Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
31For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.

1Therefore you shall love the LORD your God, and keep his instructions, his statutes, his ordinances, and his commandments, always.
2Know this day—for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm,
3his signs, and his works, which he did in the middle of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;
4and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued you, and how the LORD has destroyed them to this day;
5and what he did to you in the wilderness until you came to this place;

10For the land, where you go in to possess isn’t like the land of Egypt that you came out of, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;
11but the land that you go over to possess is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water from the rain of the sky,
12a land which the LORD your God cares for. The LORD your God’s eyes are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.
13It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14that I will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
15I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.
16Be careful, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn away to serve other gods and worship them;
17and the LORD’s anger be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky so that there is no rain, and the land doesn’t yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD gives you.
18Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
19You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
20You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates;
21that your days and your children’s days may be multiplied in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
22For if you shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you—to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cling to him—
23then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
24Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the western sea shall be your border.
25No man will be able to stand before you. The LORD your God will lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you tread on, as he has spoken to you.
26Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse:
27the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today;
28and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn away out of the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.
29It shall happen, when the LORD your God brings you into the land that you go to possess, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.
30Aren’t they beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah near Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
31For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell in it.
32You shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you today.
