ESTAS son las palabras que habló Moisés á todo Israel de esta parte del Jordán en el desierto, en el llano delante del mar Bermejo, entre Parán, y Thopel, y Labán, y Haseroth, y Dizahab.
These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

Je vous parlai ainsi dans ce temps-là : « Je ne puis, à moi seul, vous porter.

Vous me répondîtes en disant : « La chose que tu proposes de faire est bonne ».

Je pris donc les chefs de vos tribus, des hommes sages et connus, et je les mis à votre tête comme chefs de milliers, chefs de centaines, chefs de cinquantaines et chefs de dizaines, et comme magistrats dans vos tribus.
Y tomé los principales de vuestras tribus, varones sabios y expertos, y púselos por jefes sobre vosotros, jefes de millares, y jefes de cientos, y jefes de cincuenta, y cabos de diez, y gobernadores á vuestras tribus.
So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

Dans le même temps, je donnai ce commandement à vos juges : « Ecoutez les débats de vos frères, et jugez selon la justice les différends qu'ils auront chacun avec son frère ou avec l'étranger qui est avec lui.

Vous n'aurez point égard, dans vos jugements, à l'apparence des personnes ; vous écouterez les petits comme les grands, n'ayant peur d'aucun homme, car le jugement est de Dieu ; et si vous trouvez une cause trop difficile, vous la porterez devant moi, pour que je l'entende. »
No tengáis respeto de personas en el juicio: así al pequeño como al grande oiréis: no tendréis temor de ninguno, porque el juicio es de Dios: y la causa que os fuere difícil, la traeréis á mí, y yo la oiré.
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.”
C'est ainsi que je vous prescrivis, dans ce temps-là, toutes les choses que vous auriez à faire.

Etant partis d'Horeb, nous traversâmes tout ce vaste et affreux désert que vous avez vu, nous dirigeant vers la montagne des Amorrhéens, comme Yahweh, votre Dieu, nous l'avait ordonné, et nous arrivâmes à Cadès-Barné.
Y partidos de Horeb, anduvimos todo aquel grande y terrible desierto que habéis visto, por el camino del monte del Amorrheo, como Jehová nuestro Dios nos lo mandó; y llegamos hasta Cades-barnea.
And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.

And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.

Vois, Yahweh, ton Dieu, met ce pays devant toi ; monte et prends-en possession, comme te l'a dit Yahweh, le Dieu de tes pères ; ne crains point et ne t'effraie point. »
Mira, Jehová tu Dios ha dado delante de ti la tierra: sube y poséela, como Jehová el Dios de tus padres te ha dicho; no temas ni desmayes.
Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.
Behold, the LORD your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the LORD the God of your fathers has spoken to you. Don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.”
Vous vous approchâtes tous de moi et vous dites : « Envoyons des hommes devant nous, pour explorer le pays et nous faire un rapport sur le chemin par lequel nous y monterons, et sur les villes où nous arriverons. »
Y llegasteis á mí todos vosotros, y dijisteis: Enviemos varones delante de nosotros, que nos reconozcan la tierra y nos traigan de vuelta razón del camino por donde hemos de subir, y de las ciudades adonde hemos de llegar.
And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
You came near to me, everyone of you, and said, “Let’s send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring back to us word of the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.”
La chose m'ayant paru bonne, je pris parmi vous douze hommes, un homme par tribu.

Ils partirent et, après avoir traversé la montagne, ils arrivèrent à la vallée d'Escol et l'explorèrent.

Vous murmurâtes dans vos tentes, en disant : « C'est parce que Yahweh nous hait qu'il nous a fait sortir du pays d'Egypte, pour nous livrer entre les mains de l'Amorrhéen, afin de nous détruire.
Y murmurasteis en vuestras tiendas, diciendo: Porque Jehová nos aborrecía, nos ha sacado de tierra de Egipto, para entregarnos en mano del Amorrheo para destruirnos.
And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

Où montons-nous ? Nos frères nous ont fait fondre le cœur, en disant : C'est un peuple plus grand et de plus haute stature que nous ; ce sont des grandes villes, dont les murailles s'élèvent jusqu'au ciel, et même nous y avons vu des fils des Enacim. »
¿A dónde subimos? Nuestros hermanos han hecho desfallecer nuestro corazón, diciendo: Este pueblo es mayor y más alto que nosotros, las ciudades grandes y muradas hasta el cielo; y también vimos allí hijos de gigantes.
Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.
Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our heart melt, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to the sky. Moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there!’”
Je vous dis : « Ne vous effrayez pas et n'ayez pas peur d'eux.

Yahweh, votre Dieu, qui marche devant vous, combattra lui-même pour vous, selon tout ce qu'il a fait pour vous sous vos yeux en Egypte,
Jehová vuestro Dios, el cual va delante de vosotros, él peleará por vosotros, conforme á todas las cosas que hizo por vosotros en Egipto delante de vuestros ojos;

et ensuite au désert, où tu as vu comment Yahweh, ton Dieu, t'a porté, ainsi qu'un homme porte son fils, sur toute la route que vous avez parcourue jusqu'à votre arrivée en ce lieu. »
Y en el desierto has visto que Jehová tu Dios te ha traído, como trae el hombre á su hijo, por todo el camino que habéis andado, hasta que habéis venido á este lugar.
And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

Malgré cela vous n'aviez pas confiance en Yahweh, votre Dieu,
Y aun con esto no creisteis en Jehová vuestro Dios,

qui marchait devant vous sur le chemin pour vous chercher des lieux de campement, dans un feu pendant la nuit pour vous montrer le chemin où vous deviez marcher, et dans une nuée pendant le jour.
El cual iba delante de vosotros por el camino, para reconoceros el lugar donde habíais de asentar el campo, con fuego de noche para mostraros el camino por donde anduvieseis, y con nube de día.

Yahweh entendit le bruit de vos paroles et, dans sa colère, il jura, en disant :
Y oyó Jehová la voz de vuestras palabras, y enojóse, y juró diciendo:

« Aucun des hommes de cette génération mauvaise ne verra le bon pays que j'ai juré de donner à vos pères,

excepté Caleb fils de Jéphoné ; il le verra, lui, et je lui donnerai, à lui et à ses enfants, le pays qu'il a foulé, parce qu'il a fidèlement suivi Yahweh. »
Excepto Caleb hijo de Jephone: él la verá, y á él le daré la tierra que pisó, y á sus hijos; porque cumplió en pos de Jehová.
Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.

Yahweh s'irrita aussi contre moi, à cause de vous, et il dit : « Toi non plus tu n'y entreras point.
Y también contra mí se airó Jehová por vosotros, diciendo: Tampoco tú entrarás allá:

Y vuestros chiquitos, de los cuales dijisteis serán por presa, y vuestros hijos que no saben hoy bueno ni malo, ellos entrarán allá, y á ellos la daré, y ellos la heredarán.
Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

Vous, retournez en arrière et partez pour le désert, par le chemin de la mer Rouge. »

Vous répondîtes en me disant : « Nous avons péché contre Yahweh ; nous monterons et nous combattrons, selon tout ce que Yahweh, notre Dieu, nous a ordonné. » Et vous ceignîtes chacun vos armes, et vous vous disposâtes inconsidérément à monter à la montagne.
Entonces respondisteis y me dijisteis: Pecado hemos contra Jehová; nosotros subiremos y pelearemos, conforme á todo lo que Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha mandado. Y os armasteis cada uno de sus armas de guerra, y os apercibisteis para subir al monte.
Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.
Then you answered and said to me, “We have sinned against the LORD. We will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us.” Every man of you put on his weapons of war, and presumed to go up into the hill country.
Yahweh me dit : « Dis-leur : Ne montez pas et ne combattez pas, car je ne suis pas au milieu de vous ; ne vous faites pas battre par vos ennemis. »
Y Jehová me dijo: Diles: No subáis, ni peleéis, pues no estoy entre vosotros; porque no seáis heridos delante de vuestros enemigos.
And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.
The LORD said to me, “Tell them, ‘Don’t go up and don’t fight; for I am not among you, lest you be struck before your enemies.’”

So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill.

Alors l'Amorrhéen qui habite cette montagne, sortit à votre rencontre ; il vous poursuivit comme font les abeilles, et vous battit en Seïr, jusqu'à Horma.
Y salió el Amorrheo, que habitaba en aquel monte, á vuestro encuentro, y os persiguieron, como hacen las avispas, y os derrotaron en Seir, persiguiéndoos hasta Horma.
And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.

Vous revîntes et vous pleurâtes devant Yahweh ; mais Yahweh n'écouta pas votre voix, et ne vous prêta pas l'oreille.
Y volvisteis, y llorasteis delante de Jehová; pero Jehová no escuchó vuestra voz, ni os prestó oído.
And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you.

Vous restâtes de longs jours à Cadès, le temps que vous y avez séjourné.
Y estuvisteis en Cades por muchos días, como en los días que habéis estado.
