Deuteronomio 25

Wenn man ihm vierzig Schlage gegeben hat, soil man ihn nicht mehr schlagen, auf dad nicht, so man mehr Schlage gibt, er zu viel geschlagen werde, und dein Bruder scheudlich vor deinen Augen sei,

Harále dar cuarenta azotes, no más: no sea que, si lo hiriere con muchos azotes á más de éstos, se envilezca tu hermano delante de tus ojos.

Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

He may sentence him to no more than forty stripes. He shall not give more, lest if he should give more and beat him more than that many stripes, then your brother will be degraded in your sight.
