Si le méchant a mérité d’être battu, le juge le fera jeter par terre, et battre devant soi par un certain nombre de coups, selon l’exigence de son crime.

Il le fera donc battre de quarante coups, et non de davantage, de peur que s’il continue à le battre au delà de ces coups, la plaie ne soit excessive, et que ton frère ne soit traité trop indignement devant tes yeux.

Cuando hermanos estuvieren juntos, y muriere alguno de ellos, y no tuviere hijo, la mujer del muerto no se casará fuera con hombre extraño: su cuñado entrará á ella, y la tomará por su mujer, y hará con ella parentesco.
If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.

Et le premier-né qu’elle enfantera succédera en la place du frère mort, et portera son nom, afin que son nom ne soit point effacé d’Israël.

Que s’il ne plaît pas à cet homme-là de prendre sa belle-soeur, alors sa belle-soeur montera à la porte vers les Anciens, et dira : Mon beau-frère refuse de relever le nom de son frère en Israël, et ne veut point m’épouser par droit de beau-frère.

And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”
Alors les Anciens de sa ville l’appelleront, et lui parleront ; et s’il demeure ferme, et qu’il dise : Je ne veux point la prendre ;
Entonces los ancianos de aquella ciudad lo harán venir, y hablarán con él: y si él se levantare, y dijere, No quiero tomarla,

Llegaráse entonces su cuñada á él delante de los ancianos, y le descalzará el zapato de su pie, y escupirále en el rostro, y hablará y dirá: Así será hecho al varón que no edificare la casa de su hermano.

Et son nom sera appelé en Israël, la maison de celui à qui on a déchaussé le soulier.

Quand quelques-uns auront querelle ensemble l’un contre l’autre, si la femme de l’un s’approche pour délivrer son mari de celui qui le bat, et qu’avançant sa main elle l’empoigne par ses parties honteuses ;
Cuando algunos riñeren juntos el uno con el otro, y llegare la mujer del uno para librar á su marido de mano del que le hiriere, y metiere su mano y le trabare de sus vergüenzas;

Alors tu lui couperas la main ; et ton oeil ne l’épargnera point.
La cortarás entonces la mano, no la perdonará tu ojo.

Tu n’auras point en ton sachet deux sortes de pierres à peser, une grande et une petite.

Il n’y aura point aussi dans ta maison deux sortes d’Epha, un grand et un petit ;
No tendrás en tu casa epha grande y epha pequeño.
Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
You shall not have in your house diverse measures, one large and one small.
Mais tu auras les pierres à peser exactes et justes ; tu auras aussi un Epha exact et juste, afin que tes jours soient prolongés sur la terre que l’Eternel ton Dieu te donne.
Pesas cumplidas y justas tendrás; epha cabal y justo tendrás: para que tus días sean prolongados sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Qu’il te souvienne de ce qu’Hamalec t’a fait en chemin, quand vous sortiez d’Egypte ;

Quand donc l’Eternel ton Dieu t’aura donné du repos de tous tes ennemis tout à l’entour, dans le pays que l’Eternel ton Dieu te donne en héritage pour le posséder, alors tu effaceras la mémoire d’Hamalec de dessous les cieux ; ne l’oublie point.
Será pues, cuando Jehová tu Dios te hubiere dado reposo de tus enemigos alrededor, en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad para que la poseas, que raerás la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo: no te olvides.
Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
