Deuteronomio 29

1Estas são as palavras do pacto que o SENHOR mandou que Moisés fizesse com os filhos de Israel na terra de Moabe, além do pacto que estabeleceu com eles em Horebe.
2Moisés, pois, chamou a todo Israel, e disse-lhes: Vós vistes tudo o que o SENHOR fez diante vossos olhos na terra do Egito a Faraó e a todos os seus servos, e a toda sua terra:
3As provas grandes que viram teus olhos, o sinais, e as grandes maravilhas.
4E o SENHOR não vos deu coração para entender, nem olhos para ver, nem ouvidos para ouvir, até o dia de hoje.
5E eu vos trouxe quarenta anos pelo deserto: vossas roupas não se hão envelhecido sobre vós, nem teu sapato se envelheceu sobre teu pé.
6Não comestes pão, nem bebestes vinho nem bebida forte: para que soubestes que eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
7E chegastes a este lugar, e saiu Seom rei de Hesbom, e Ogue rei de Basã, diante de nós para lutar, e os ferimos;
8E tomamos sua terra, e a demos por herança a Rúben e a Gade, e à meia tribo de Manassés.
9Guardareis, pois, as palavras deste pacto, e as poreis por obra, para que prospereis em tudo o que fizerdes.
10Vós todos estais hoje diante do SENHOR vosso Deus; vossos príncipes de vossas tribos, vossos anciãos, e vossos oficiais, todos os homens de Israel,
11Vossas crianças, vossas mulheres, e teus estrangeiros que habitam em meio de teu campo, desde o que corta tua lenha até o que tira tuas águas:
12Para que entres no pacto do SENHOR teu Deus, e em seu juramento, que o SENHOR teu Deus estabelece hoje contigo:
13Para te confirmar hoje por seu povo, e que ele seja a ti por Deus, da maneira que ele te disse, e como ele jurou a teus pais Abraão, Isaque, e Jacó.
14E não somente convosco estabeleço eu este pacto e este juramento,
15Mas, sim, com os que estão aqui presentes hoje conosco diante do SENHOR nosso Deus, e com os que não estão aqui hoje conosco.
16Porque vós sabeis como habitamos na terra do Egito, e como passamos por meio das nações que passastes;
17E vistes suas abominações e seus ídolos, madeira e pedra, prata e ouro, que têm consigo.
18Para que não haja entre vós homem, ou mulher, ou família, ou tribo, cujo coração se volte hoje de com o SENHOR nosso Deus, por andar a servir aos deuses daquelas nações; que não haja em vós raiz que lance veneno e amargura;
19E seja que, quando o tal ouvir as palavras desta maldição, ele se abençoe em seu coração, dizendo: Terei paz, ainda que ande segundo o pensamento de meu coração, para acrescentar a embriaguez à sede:
20O SENHOR se recusará a lhe perdoar; antes fumegará logo o furor do SENHOR e seu zelo sobre o tal homem, e se assentará sobre ele toda maldição escrita neste livro, e o SENHOR apagará seu nome de debaixo do céu:
21E o SENHOR o separará de todas as tribos de Israel para o mal, conforme todas as maldições do pacto escrito neste livro da lei.
22E dirá a geração vindoura, vossos filhos que virão depois de vós, e o estrangeiro que virá de distantes terras, quando virem as pragas desta terra, e suas enfermidades de que o SENHOR a fez enfermar,
23(Enxofre e sal, abrasada toda sua terra: não será semeada, nem produzirá, nem crescerá nela erva nenhuma, como na destruição de Sodoma e de Gomorra, de Admá e de Zeboim, que o SENHOR destruiu em seu furor e em sua ira:)
24Dirão, pois, todas as nações: Por que fez o SENHOR isto a esta terra? Que ira é esta de tão grande furor?
25E responderão. Porquanto deixaram o pacto do SENHOR o Deus de seus pais, que ele estabeleceu com eles quando os tirou da terra do Egito,
26E foram e serviram a deuses alheios, e inclinaram-se a eles, deuses que não conheciam, e que nenhuma coisa lhes haviam dado:
27Acendeu-se portanto, o furor do SENHOR contra esta terra, para trazer sobre ela todas as maldições escritas nesta livro;
28E o SENHOR os desarraigou de sua terra com ira, e com indignação, e com furor grande, e os expulsou a outra terra, como hoje.
29As coisas secretas pertencem ao SENHOR nosso Deus: mas as reveladas são para nós e para nossos filhos para sempre, para que cumpramos todas as palavras desta lei.

1ESTAS son las palabras del pacto que Jehová mandó á Moisés concertara con los hijos de Israel en la tierra de Moab, además del pacto que concertó con ellos en Horeb.
2Moisés pues llamó á todo Israel, y díjoles: Vosotros habéis visto todo lo que Jehová ha hecho delante de vuestros ojos en la tierra de Egipto á Faraón y á todos sus siervos, y á toda su tierra:
3Las pruebas grandes que vieron tus ojos, las señales, y las grandes maravillas.
4Y Jehová no os dió corazón para entender, ni ojos para ver, ni oídos para oir, hasta el día de hoy.
5Y yo os he traído cuarenta años por el desierto: vuestros vestidos no se han envejecido sobre vosotros, ni tu zapato se ha envejecido sobre tu pie.
6No habéis comido pan, ni bebisteis vino ni sidra: para que supieseis que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios.
7Y llegasteis á este lugar, y salió Sehón rey de Hesbón, y Og rey de Basán, delante de nosotros para pelear, y herímoslos;
8Y tomamos su tierra, y dímosla por heredad á Rubén y á Gad, y á la media tribu de Manasés.
9Guardaréis, pues, las palabras de este pacto, y las pondréis por obra, para que prosperéis en todo lo que hiciereis.
10Vosotros todos estáis hoy delante de Jehová vuestro Dios; vuestros príncipes de vuestras tribus, vuestros ancianos, y vuestros oficiales, todos los varones de Israel,
11Vuestros niños, vuestras mujeres, y tus extranjeros que habitan en medio de tu campo, desde el que corta tu leña hasta el que saca tus aguas:
12Para que entres en el pacto de Jehová tu Dios, y en su juramento, que Jehová tu Dios acuerda hoy contigo:
13Para confirmarte hoy por su pueblo, y que él te sea á ti por Dios, de la manera que él te ha dicho, y como él juró á tus padres Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob.
14Y no con vosotros solos acuerdo yo este pacto y este juramento,
15Sino con los que están aquí presentes hoy con nosotros delante de Jehová nuestro Dios, y con los que no están aquí hoy con nosotros.
16Porque vosotros sabéis cómo habitamos en la tierra de Egipto, y cómo hemos pasado por medio de las gentes que habéis pasado;
17Y habéis visto sus abominaciones, y sus ídolos, madera y piedra, plata y oro, que tienen consigo.
18Quizá habrá entre vosotros varón, ó mujer, ó familia, ó tribu, cuyo corazón se vuelva hoy de con Jehová nuestro Dios, por andar á servir á los dioses de aquellas gentes; quizá habrá en vosotros raíz que eche veneno y ajenjo;
19Y sea que, cuando el tal oyere las palabras de esta maldición, él se bendiga en su corazón, diciendo: Tendré paz, aunque ande según el pensamiento de mi corazón, para añadir la embriaguez á la sed:
20Jehová no querrá perdonarle; antes humeará luego el furor de Jehová y su celo sobre el tal hombre, y asentaráse sobre él toda maldición escrita en este libro, y Jehová raerá su nombre de debajo del cielo:
21Y apartarálo Jehová de todas las tribus de Israel para mal, conforme á todas las maldiciones del pacto escrito en este libro de la ley.
22Y dirá la generación venidera, vuestros hijos que vendrán después de vosotros, y el extranjero que vendrá de lejanas tierras, cuando vieren las plagas de aquesta tierra, y sus enfermedades de que Jehová la hizo enfermar,
23(Azufre y sal, abrasada toda su tierra: no será sembrada, ni producirá, ni crecerá en ella hierba ninguna, como en la subversión de Sodoma y de Gomorra, de Adma y de Seboim, que Jehová subvirtió en su furor y en su ira:)
24Dirán, pues, todas las gentes: ¿Por qué hizo Jehová esto á esta tierra? ¿qué ira es ésta de tan gran furor?
25Y responderán: Por cuanto dejaron el pacto de Jehová el Dios de sus padres, que él concertó con ellos cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto,
26Y fueron y sirvieron á dioses ajenos, é inclináronse á ellos, dioses que no conocían, y que ninguna cosa les habían dado:
27Encendióse por tanto, el furor de Jehová contra esta tierra, para traer sobre ella todas las maldiciones escritas en este libro;
28Y Jehová los desarraigó de su tierra con enojo, y con saña, y con furor grande, y los echó á otra tierra, como hoy.
29Las cosas secretas pertenecen á Jehová nuestro Dios: mas las reveladas son para nosotros y para nuestros hijos por siempre, para que cumplamos todas las palabras de esta ley.

1These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
2And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
3The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:
4Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
5And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
6Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.
7And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:
8And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.
9Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
10Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
11Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:
12That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day:
13That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
14Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
15But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
16(For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;
17And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)
18Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
19And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
20The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
21And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
22So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;
23And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
24Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
25Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
26For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
27And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
28And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
29The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

1These are the words of the covenant which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
2Moses called to all Israel, and said to them: Your eyes have seen all that the LORD did in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;
3the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders.
4But the LORD has not given you a heart to know, eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.
5I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not grown old on you, and your sandals have not grown old on your feet.
6You have not eaten bread, neither have you drunk wine or strong drink, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.
7When you came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we struck them.
8We took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.
9Therefore keep the words of this covenant and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.

11your little ones, your wives, and the foreigners who are in the middle of your camps, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water,
12that you may enter into the covenant of the LORD your God, and into his oath, which the LORD your God makes with you today,
13that he may establish you today as his people, and that he may be your God, as he spoke to you and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
14Neither do I make this covenant and this oath with you only,
15but with those who stand here with us today before the LORD our God, and also with those who are not here with us today
16(for you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the middle of the nations through which you passed;
17and you have seen their abominations and their idols of wood, stone, silver, and gold, which were among them);
18lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from the LORD our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;
19and it happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, “I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart,” to destroy the moist with the dry.
20The LORD will not pardon him, but then the LORD’s anger and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book will fall on him, and the LORD will blot out his name from under the sky.
21The LORD will set him apart for evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this book of the law.
22The generation to come—your children who will rise up after you, and the foreigner who will come from a far land—will say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses with which the LORD has made it sick,
23that all of its land is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, doesn’t produce, nor does any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath.
24Even all the nations will say, “Why has the LORD done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”
25Then men will say, “Because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,
26and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know and that he had not given to them.
27Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book.
28The LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and thrust them into another land, as it is today.”
29The secret things belong to the LORD our God; but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
