C'est-à-dire qu'après avoir entendu les termes de cette imprécation, cet homme se donnerait de l'assurance dans le secret de son cœur, en disant: "Je resterai heureux, tout en me livrant à la passion de mon cœur;" et alors la passion assouvie entraînerait celle qui a soif.
Quizá habrá entre vosotros varón, ó mujer, ó familia, ó tribu, cuyo corazón se vuelva hoy de con Jehová nuestro Dios, por andar á servir á los dioses de aquellas gentes; quizá habrá en vosotros raíz que eche veneno y ajenjo;

Et il le distinguera, par le malheur, entre toutes les tribus d'Israël, en lui infligeant toutes les malédictions du pacte formulé dans ce livre de la doctrine.
Jehová no querrá perdonarle; antes humeará luego el furor de Jehová y su celo sobre el tal hombre, y asentaráse sobre él toda maldición escrita en este libro, y Jehová raerá su nombre de debajo del cielo:

Y dirá la generación venidera, vuestros hijos que vendrán después de vosotros, y el extranjero que vendrá de lejanas tierras, cuando vieren las plagas de aquesta tierra, y sus enfermedades de que Jehová la hizo enfermar,
So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;

et quand ils diront, tous ces peuples: "A quel propos l'Éternel a-t-il ainsi traité ce pays? Pourquoi s'est allumée cette grande colère?"
(Azufre y sal, abrasada toda su tierra: no será sembrada, ni producirá, ni crecerá en ella hierba ninguna, como en la subversión de Sodoma y de Gomorra, de Adma y de Seboim, que Jehová subvirtió en su furor y en su ira:)
And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

On répondra: "Parce qu'ils ont abandonné l'alliance de l'Éternel, Dieu de leurs pères, l'alliance qu'il avait contractée avec eux, après les avoir fait sortir du pays d'Egypte;
Dirán, pues, todas las gentes: ¿Por qué hizo Jehová esto á esta tierra? ¿qué ira es ésta de tan gran furor?
Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
Even all the nations will say, “Why has the LORD done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”
parce qu'ils sont allés servir des divinités étrangères et se prosterner devant elles, des divinités qu'ils ne connaissaient point et qu'ils n'avaient pas reçues en partage.

Alors la colère de l'Éternel s'est allumée contre ce pays-là, au point de diriger sur lui toutes les malédictions écrites dans ce livre;
Y fueron y sirvieron á dioses ajenos, é inclináronse á ellos, dioses que no conocían, y que ninguna cosa les habían dado:
For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

et l'Éternel les a arrachés de leur sol avec colère, animosité, indignation extrême, et il les a jetés sur une autre terre comme cela se voit aujourd'hui."
Encendióse por tanto, el furor de Jehová contra esta tierra, para traer sobre ella todas las maldiciones escritas en este libro;

Les choses cachées appartiennent au Seigneur, notre Dieu; mais les choses révélées importent à nous et à nos enfants jusqu'aux derniers âges, afin que nous mettions en pratique toutes les paroles de cette doctrine.
